In my conversations with Masterbox Ltd. at the Nuremberg Trade Fair. The subject of 1/35th Gliders came up. Here's the 'official' word:
This was previously put on the Forums last week following an e-mail I had from the company. Now it's been added to their website.

Masterbox have also announced that they are entering the Aircraft market with the following subjects - in 1/35th Scale

- 3568 Horsa MK 1 Troop-carrying glider. Model figures of British paratroopers will be supplied with this set.

- 3583 Horsa MK 1 Troop-carrying glider. This model will be supplied with the figures of American paratroopers.

- 3584 Douglas C-47 Skytrain. This model will be supplied with the figures of US flight and maintenance personnel and US paratroopers.

- 3585 Douglas C-47. In British and Commonwealth service the C47 was called the Dakota. This model will be supplied with the figures of British flight and maintenance personnel and British paratroopers.

- 3587 German military cargo plane Junkers Ju-52. Affectionately called “Tante Ju” by the German troops. Also include in this set will be the figures of German flight/maintenance personnel and German paratroopers.

Also, due to the interest many Armor modelers have in Aviation, an additional report has been published on our sister-site Aeroscale on the company's plans for 1/32nd Scale Flightcrew/Maintenance Personnel. The details can be seen:

Personally, I think MasterBox are completely bonkers to be bringing out kits like this and I hope they sell shedloads of them. For those naysayers, who think such things will be 'too expensive/large/specialised', I suggest you all have a couple of words with those went and bought the Dora railway gun... acav

Oh yes! With the Horsa you practically get one kit for two dioramas, as you can use the front and aft falf separately

If they made aircraft in 1/35 , we would, believe you me. There are just a few 'relevant' aircraft kits in 1/32 scale, which don't really work well with the armour kits on the market.

Hi Guys, Whilst the Glider is certainly great for NWE I'd be going further east for the C47. Lots of great possibilities in Burma and SEA. Oh and some RAF ground Crew too Did I mention trucks! Al

Hey Jim, Its great Masterbox are doing these planes . Modellers around the globe have always asked to see these planes in 35th scale and I for 1 would be getting my hands on both . Although the bigger question would be to ask our partners to increase our modelling /showroom area Having built the TBM 1/32 avenger with PT and schnell awaiting to be built . Space in the man cave is going to be a problem Cheers Michael

I think that a market exists for the gliders in this scale... but how am i going to sneak a 1/35 JU52 past the wife.!!! ... I remember when just the 1/72 scale was all that was available, then came along the superb 1/48 Pro-modeller model. Can't get my head around a 1/35 scale one............. Maybe i should now hold out for a 1/1 scale version to appear...(just a matter of time) ha ha "If we do not achive final victory, then it will not be my fault... it will be the fault of the German people. They will have failed me............ they will not have deserved me." (Words of a former world war 1 corporal, former painter and decorator, political thug and failed artist..) ADOLF HITLER (1945)

It looks like MB has made some serious mistakes with this horsa. The fuselage is a MK II !!!!!! and has a mkI cockpit interior and mk I nosewheel! Either the nosewheel has to be exchanged for the doublewheeled nosewheel of the mk II and cockpit adjusted.Or fuselage has to be redone.... What a shame!!!!!Stupid mistakes! ANYONE WITH CONTACTS AT MB WARN THEM!!!!!!! Johan
