Tasca, have in the opinion of many, been the injection-moulded manufacturer who have done more for the M4 Sherman than anyone else. Now, the company have announced an interesting initiative.
Many manufacturers, have in the past, offered replacement sprues, However, previously, they were (understandably) somewhat limited in their range. Now, Tasca have announced no less than 39 different sprues and tracks from their range of M4 Shermans.

It's NOT going to be an alternative to the AM specialists such as Formations but, for many, it's going to make conversions a LOT easier. It's also going to be a great source for their excellent tracks. Other areas which will be useful for many will be Turrets, Hulls and Transmission covers.

Although the list is extensive, Suspension units are NOT included in this list. These are available as complete sets from the company so it would be an unnecessary duplication.

The list can be seen here:

This is fantastic news, we can now make our own bespoke Shermans. How long before other manufacturers follow.

Fantastic!!!! Now I can build my M4 Sherman off my personal choice. And update other M4 based kits like the ones from DML, Tamiya, Academy and AFV club. A brilliant move from Tasca !

This is excellent news and a very good source of the nice Tasca LB turrets. Whilst I believe TASCA have done the better Kits of Shermans I would give DML the kudos for doing the most for Shermans in 35th. True, I am a vociferous critic however if you look at the range of Shermans they have offered they truly set the market for the many that Tasca followed. DML were the first to offer the M4A4 and Firefly, the Composite, The M4A2, the M4A3 105 and offered far superior kittings (which have steadily been improved) renderings of the M4A3's, the M4 and the M4A1s. TASCA make a brilliant Sherman but I think DML get the gong for advancing the Sherman as a mainstream modelling subject Cheers Al

So does this mean i can make an early M4 Sherman with a welded hull? My prayers have been answered!

I've been saying that DML should have done this for 251 versions/variants for a long time now, but Shermans make sense too. It does not seem that difficult to me for them to sell a vanilla 251D kit and for $5-10 sell the instructions and update sprues to make the differeing variants. Individual sprues would be helpful as well, but I was more thinking of pre-boxed 'conversions' of the basic chassis, in styrene. Might be a way for the orange box folks to go eventually. Glad all you shermy-a-holics can get your fix this way now. Mike

Excellent news I've already placed my order. I wanted to upgrade the 4 - Old DML M4A4's that I had in the stash. I had already bought suspension sets. Shipping to Canada was very reasonable.
