SKP Model continues it's schedule of releases, but this time we're offered another unique aspect of war beyond the upgrades they normally offer, This time we are treated to a Wren and a puppy!
WREN Mary is an endearing little vignette showing a pose which delivers an intimate moment in a time of war on the home-front. Although one might consider this 1/35th scale figure better suited to our figure modelers, I can already see this as a nice addition to say, the Tamiya Tilly released last year.

The role of women during the war seems to receive only passing mention in scale modeling, but this figure from SKP just might help to break that barrier just as the actual Wrens did as tireless support to the troops.

As you can see, she is already positioned on a base included in the molding (a nice touch to create a stand-alone figure), or she can be removed and placed in a diorama.

So watch for this lass at your hobby store, or order direct from SKP.

Wow, not at all what I was expecting! This is a pretty good looking figure sculpt. Do you know what SKP's plans on expanding the line are?

Interesting... if this figure is as good as it appears then I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Just got this form SKP directly, very nice figure! The figure comes in a small box with a painted/assembled image of the figure on the front. The figure is cast in a light blue resin. I didn't notice any resin smell and it feels more like plastic. I have noticed that SKP seems to use a plastic like resin. The figure comes in three parts, body head and arm holding puppy. Some of the details are a little soft. the buttons on her coat and shoes could be sharper. The legs have a seam on them that will take some sanding to smooth out her calves. Not that big of a deal but not a "glue and paint" that you may be used to form manufacturers like Alpine. The puppy looks like a dachshund but i am sure you can paint it up to be any number of breeds I purchased this directly from SKP models for 6.4 euros (aprox. $10 usd) The figure is not up to the gold standards set by Alpine, but comes close! The subject matter is unique and a welcome change of pace from the usual soldiers. A very nice figure, worth the money if you are looking for something different to pose next to your austin tilly (that is where mine is going) just like the preview says Sorry i cant get any more close up shots, i am using an iphone for the pics.
