The Czech-Republic based manufacturer Eduard needs little introduction in the modelling community with its enormous range of After-Market sets for Armor, Aviation and Warships. What one does not necessarily think of, is Eduard as a manufacturer of Plastic model kits...

Recently we have seen the first release of an armor kit in the form of their 1/72nd scale Sherman with more releases in the pipeline.
This new kit, is going to have some effects in what was traditionally a smaller scale operation - the After Market Parts producers. We have already seen it working in reverse with Trumpeter producing an Ariete in 1/35th scale - the master of which came from an Italian resin manufacturer.
Perhaps this is a new trend with some of the AM companies branching-out into plastic. Hopefully we will see others following suit....
Catalogue # 6106 - Schwimmwagen in 1/16th Scale Is a large scale model of this attractive German amphibious vehicle. Due to the increasing poplularity of this as a scale and the increasingly large range of figures available this is going to become the centerpiece in many 120mm dioramas in the months to come. Trumpeter already has its 1/16th scale T34s, Bronco Models have mooted a number of large scale vehicles and various other manufacturers have 1/16th scale vehicles (in various levels of quality) already released. The price of Eduard's new model, is a not unreasonable $99 which considering how much it would cost in resin....
