Firstly my thanks to Roman (Bizarre) for the heads up on this one!

Riich Models are a NEW Chinese model manufacturer who have just launched their first releases and their first, in 1/35th Scale.
The first Figure Release from the company is:

"Road to Victory" (WWII British Leader Set)

This is a 4-figure, 1/35th Scale set in styrene.

Now, there are two very well-known personalities there - Montgomery and Churchill. The third, lesser-known but still important in the shape of Sir Brian Horrocks, the Commander of XXX Corps in Operation Market Garden. The fourth had me scratching my head slightly as it's a representation of Churchill's daughter-in-law, Pamela Churchill. However as its a female figure in Uniform, no problem there!

More as it becomes available!

Once again my thanks to Roman for the Heads-Up!

Odd choice for a figure set, but an interesting one. Looking at the sample, the sculpting is bit off. Hisham is right, it seems that sculptors have a problem getting the proportions of the female body, so far Masterbox has been able to come out with a convincing human figure in plastic kits.

The miniart Monty in the commonwealth NA set was pretty good. You can get reasonably close in styrene It doesn't have to be a stunning likeness, but if you are going to release a set of famous figures then they should look at least a bit like their namesakes. The Churchill figure does look a bit like Churchill. Other than that the other three could be anybody. And the Pamela figure........ well I don't want to be too harsh so I won't comment further

Andy I took a look at the figures you linked to and the figures that were there in 1/35th scale were in resin, and I still don't think looked that feminine some of the best female figures I have seen in 1/35th scale are from Bronco. Now back on track I can see the benefit of a figure set like this one, and while the facial detail looks a little off it may look better in the flesh so to speak. I myself am willing to cut them some slack as the body/clothing portion of the model looks very good with no serious issues, and being a new company who knows how they will grow and develop in this area of the hobby. I wish them luck.

I like the figures, whether they look like the personalities they are meant to portary doesn't really concern me as I'd use them as generic figures. If, as is likely, they are based on the photo that Chris linked to then I see where the problem might be. I don't think the officer on the left of the photo is General Brian Horrocks- it looks nothing like him- not the plastic figure- the actual photo. I don't know whether Pamela Churchill, Winston's daughter in law accompanied him on his visit to the front, The woman may be Churchill's daughter Mary who was actually in the ATS. Corbis don't name the two figures- their label reads "Prime Minister Winston Churchill, accompanied by a group of British and American officers, visits the Rhine River in Germany shortly after its capture by Allied forces. 1945." Whoever they are I have already asked my LHS to reserve a set for me when they come in.

Here's a pic of the figures in which the female looks a lot better than the initial pic that was shown before. Actually, the whole set looks nice.. and useful for high brass figures Hisham
