I had suggested 7 months for a build time frame. I will either go with my K5 or Karl kit.

I have already submitted this for a possible campaign. I would do it sooner, but I have three ship builds to work on as well.

Well, I am all ready and willing for this one, if it gets a green light. I just got in my Leopold kit today. Holy cow is it BIG! So now I have 2 of the three big ones for the German's in WWII. Those two were hard enough to get in the door, I doubt Dora will be stopping by anytime soon.
I am itching to build this bad boy. The draw back is there is so much AM I can get for it too.

Which one is the third?
Try a smaller scale. I have a Leopold, a Karl and a Dora waiting in 1/144... (Karl in 1/72, too) Man, the Dora could be bigger than the 1/35 Leopold. It IS huge. Too bad the campaign starts that late, I might not be able to restrain myself

I have Karl and Leopold, both in 1/35. I would love to get a Dora, but that will have to wait. I was thinking about the Leopold build while coming to work this morning. I am thinking about doing someting like an inspection. Have part of the crew there with some VIP's looking it over.
Or another one would be called FIRE!!!!! But I just can't think of a way to simulate the firing of the gun.

Jim,
I've just ordered Trumpeter's Leopold gun... I just hope I'll be able to keep myself away from it untill the campaigne start.
Great idea by the way, and great ideas source (Big gun, give it, give it a shot - AC/DC rulez)
So - count me in!

Great its good to be getting some more people involved. I am torn between building Leopold or Karl. All we need is to get the powers that be to give us the GO!

I've decided not to build the Brummbär but rather the "Mörser Karl-Gerät 040/041on railway transport carrier" by Trumpeter instead. I think I should start saving now.

I am glad this is a go. It looks like a few people are looking to build a K5, so I might build my Trumpter Karl for this one.
Lets all get in there and have a good time. Any questions give me a shout!

Great to see this one approved! I'll have to dig out the box with Leopold from my closet.
It's great idea to let this campaign last so long - my model-maker's time will be quite decreased then because I'm gonna have a baby at the begining of May next year - the best 1:1 human model I've ever done .

Steen,
Yes, yours will work, anything over 200mm is good.
Dan,
Construction is not to begin prior to official launch of the build

Ok special request.
Would the 15cm Tbk C/36 coastal artillery gun in a M170 bunker be allowed?

Martin,
There isn't a 20cm gun you could do? I had listed 200mm or larger on the campaign.

Well I had the C/36 planned already so I was hoping I could use it for the campaign.
Change of plans. I have a 220mm gun in mind now
It's the Canon de 220mm Long Mle 1917 Schneider, or as the Germans called it, 22cm K 532(f).
Just 2 problems:
1 - I can't find a kit (not even a 1/72 or 1/76 resin kit...)
2 - I can't find much usefull reference materials
Why do I always want to build (nearly) impossible things?

Martin,
Maybe Revell's (3169) 21 cm MORSER 18 "Brummbar" will meet your expectations.
It's only 1cm smaller (it is 1/72) - I've heard that size doesn't matter .
By the way, you're right - there are not many interesting artillery models on the market.

I've just found that Steen T. already mentioned that gun.
Steen, don't think that I'm stealing your ideas... I just started reading from the last post...
Any way, my gun will be bigger than yours and it could easely defeat them

Hi Andrzej,
Well the reason I want to build the 15cm C/36 and the 22cm Schneider is because they were used in the Atlantikwall on the Dutch island Walcheren. I like to go there and I visit historical spots and bunkers there quite often.
The 15cm C/36 gun was used in battery W13 (Marine Kust Batterie Zoutelande)
The 22cm Schneider was used in battery W17 (Marine Kust Batterie Domburg)
So for me it's personal why I want to build especially these guns!
The 22cm was the heaviest gun on the island. All the others were 15cm or smaller.

Martin,
Beautifull guns... I do understand the reason why you want to build THESE guns now... There is a great bunker very close to Krosno (my home town) but I'll never be able to build it because it is a rail bunker (you can imagine how big it is - 400m long). It was build for Hitler himself. Meeting of Hitler and Mussolini was planned and took place in this bunker.
http://www.frysztak.pl/index.php?mgid=31
By the way - I didn't see any model of those guns in any store...
Hope you'll find it.

Martin,
If you build both thats OK, just as long as one is over 200 mm.
Andrzej
I knew somebody would do the my gun is bigger than your gun thing.
