A lot of really nice builds just in the nick of time for the end of the campaign.

The campaign gallery will look great!

Ok Gents, just in case of a need......I extended 10 days for any stragglers. If it is not needed please let me know ASAP and I can change the date back.

Thanks for the extension...my Sherman is done, but having problems with photos - AGAIN...but, had a ball being part of this build. What a super group of folks to share our mutual passion with.

Well, my dio is finally finished. It took me about 5 months of on and off work before I finished it last night. The tank is Tamiya's "Frontline Breakthrough" A3 Sherman kit. The figs are DML's Gen 2 Tarawa set.

Frank Glackin's "A Hell of a Way to Die" Feature helped me greatly with this, as well as all the members of Armorama who responded to my numerous questions. Thank you!

Here are a few pics. Later in the week I will start a thread in another forum with more pictures.

I also managed to get this one done:

The inspiration for this was a colour profile in the AJ press series of a Type 97 in Mongolia in winter camouflage. I was given the Type 97, and finished it using the hairspray method for winter camoflage. This was also my first attempt at groundwork - I wanted to have the tank situated on the Mongolian steppes just after a dusting of snow. I have a figure of a Japanese tanker in winter gear that I'm working on as well, but he wasn't quite done...

A great job on the ground work! The tank looks great. You must have researched your project well. Congrats on the build and to all the others who took part. Many fine looking works.

11:30 pm June 15! Woo!

Here is my IJA Type 4 Ho-Ro 150mm self propelled gun. It's on the Tamiya Type 97 chassis, conversion by MR Models, Eduard PE, and Friul tracks. I've always loved this neat little gun and was happy to be able to finally build it. I'm also really happy with the how the mufflers came out- they're separate mufflers with screens surrounds, not solid plastic like what comes stock. Whew...

Thanks Jesper! I would have gotten more involved with my build and maybe made a diorama, but other stuff just kept coming up. Maybe I'll do more with the vehicle in the future when I get some more time... I'm just glad I got it done by the new deadline!

See you next time.

....Nick, I really like your Type 97. However, if it's not too late, you may want to remove a couple links. The Chi-Ha's tracks were very taut and did not have so much sag in them....

Thanks a lot Dade for your kind words. You've really done a great job on your "Ho-Ro" too.
As for the sag, as you can see from the following pics the chi-ha's tracks were not always very taut, so I used 2 links more to give a more dramatic look

Lastly I would like to say that I enjoyed very much the whole campaign and I would like to congratulate all the guys who took part with so many good works.

Hey everyone. Great models continue to flow in! I need to fix a blown track before I can post completed photos (stupid italeri rubber bands!!!!!! ). Anyway, I hope this second extension officially gets everyone finished! Thanks for everything guys.

What's going on with the ribbon? It's my first campaign; how long does it usually take?

Normally it only takes a day or two, but lately I k now it has been difficult to have the ribbons uploaded to the site. Maybe Mike can let us know the current status of the ribbon?

Well, unless Mike shows up and thinks of something different, then this is what it will be (BTW I'm not the campaign leader, just the backup).

The ribbon will be smaller of course.

Many thanks to Joe Szczygielski (Mother) for modifying it to make it look even better!

I'm working with the admins to get this up and awarded. I have never done any of this before, so bear with me.

Thanks,
Samuel

I have awarded the ribbon to all those who both enlisted in the campaign and posted finished pics in the campaign gallery. If I have missed anyone, then let me know.

BTW, all the entries in the gallery were top-notch. Good work.

Hey everyone! I am really sorry about being MIA the last few weeks. A couple friends of mine, one who just returned from Iraq, were involved in a very bad car accident that left the driver of another car dead. I have been away helping to deal with the incident. Everyone else is going to be ok considering the circumstances.

I am really sorry about the hold up. Big thanks to Samuel for everything he has done! I can't thank you enough. I will be away for a few more days, but borrowed this computer to check on things! Again, I am really sorry about the hold up. I wish I had informed everyone sooner.

-Mike
