Hi Robert,

Nice job so far. As for lighting, try shooting your pics in front of a blue or black background. A white background will scatter the light and ruin the photo, no matter how good the lighting is.

Thanks for the comment Charles, the parts were so small I had to use my glasses and a hooded magnifing glass to be able to see them and with two tweezers hold and glue in place with a glue bottle that has a needle size applicator that I still cannot see very well. No matter how much care I took there are glue marks everywhere from the applicator. When I would put glue down on a credit card to touch a small part to, I would lose the part in the glue due to the suction and I was using Plastic Weld. I finally had to scratch some small parts from evergreen plastic to be able to finish to this point. AH SUCCESS the model did not succomb to the hammer that sits at my feet. As to the photography I am still looking for a blue/black poster board.

Here is my finished Type 95 for the campign. Finemolds kit OOB but with a lot of filling and fitting. It is my first attempt at a hard edge camo.

I love the camo and the muffler is a beaut. Nice tank overall and the camo helps me with my project.

Well I finally got the aircompressor working after changing all of the fittings to the other side of the regulator and water trap then I tried my 30 year old badger and threw it and another old airbrush away and tried a new one that I purchased on ebay and finally a primed model.

Notice it is no longer that nasty floresent green.

Hello everyone I have put the base camo on and some detail paint, I also put some future where the decals will go then put future overall before I put on the oil paint for my filter as per Fine Scale Modeler. The tracks have been painted and rust applied, the problem with them will be to have the tracks lay normal which will have to be accomplished with C/A. How is everyone doing?

Good job on the camouflage, Scott. It looks like your have taken the pictures with flash. This makes a lot of contrast between the colours. This makes the weathering seem "hard lined" and not so blended in. If you the possibility to take a photo in daylight on a overcast day it could be interesting to see how your tank looks.

Robert, nice to see some progress on your little Ko-Gata. Good to see some paint over that crazy plastic colour. Looking forward to see more and see the tracks get on.

Jesper I just applied the first two out of three color dots of the filtering process and I was surprised how much difference it has made it actually looks dirty. If I could just get the smell of turpentine out of my room, my brother has asked me to build a fan driven paint booth. Any way I am finally happy with the RPM Type 79 Ko Gata, it was a bad experiance in the building process that has now started to come together. I hope that I can take enough photos and still have enough room on my photo file to post them.

Coming along well Robert. Are you planning on including it in a diorama?

Scott, you did a nice job on the T95. You should build a diorama for it too, still plenty of time!

Chas I will not be doing a dio this time my hands are full with trying to find all of the old modling techniques that I had and trying new ones. The biggest problem that I am having is with the photo file size, it looks like that I will have to delete some before the campaign is finished. I was reading about photobucket, do you know anything about that?

I am using photbucket as the space on the kitmaker network gets used up very quickly.

Just go to PHOTOBUCKET HERE and start an account. It is free and very easy to use. I have used it for 1200++ pictures so far with no problems.

Thanks for the information Jesper I will take a look at the Photobucket but for me there will be a learning curve I am not that computer literate, just enough to do what little that I have done already. Chas I have just finished the Type 79 Ko Gata and will post my finished photo tomorrow after I delete photos that I do not need. At last fininished with that eye defying, tweezer building monster that older people need to stay away from, any way I am pleased with the results. See you guys tomorrow.

Hello all

This is my first campaign and happy to have completed it. I just stuck with something simple, Tamiya's Type 97 Chi-Ha kit built OOB quick build style with a resin commander. For a kit made in the mid seventies, it stands up quite well to todays kits I must say. Here are some photos. Any comments welcome.

Brett this is a really nice build your weathering is great, how do you accomplish the dusty look? Your treads look real on the head on, and I like the dirt on the track links.Your paint wear on the inside of the hatches looks good, did you use a scotch brite pad get this effect?
Great build cheers.

Excellent Brett,

Can you tell us more about the tank commander? What company produces it and tell us about your painting techniques?

Excellent viginette, Tomek! It looks absolutely stunning. Thanks for participating

Brett, Great result with the Ha-Go. I made the same tank for this campaign and I agree with you. It is an excellent kit.
A little tip you might want to use. You can make the lens for the front headlight with clear resin. Just add a little bit and let it dry before adding a new layer. You roughly need to add 3-4 layers.

Fantastic groundwork Tomek. I think that groundwork can really take your modelling to the next level when done properly. I see that you really put a lot of thought into it.

Good question. I've been always looking for new techniques for a dusty look. I live in South Korea and there is a product that is a pigment substitute powder. Basically, you can add paint to this powder and thinner and it dries at a lighter colour, so I coated my model with this mix.

I will give a full rundown of this and other products in the near future in an article that I am writing. For the figure, I think it was a Korean product, maybe Dynasty. I picked it up on sale. I've never heard of the company before, but I think it is sold under another label.

Hello All,
Here is my entry, I didn't think that I would get it finished since I built it while on the road traveling. I did some painting after I got her home. It is the Italeri US Marines M4 Sherman kit #6389. I added Fruili track and Eduard photo-etch. Now, it's funny what you notice when you take a picture, like a shiny spot in the end of the gun tube.

OK guys I have finished my headache Type 79 Ko Gata (bad eyes and shaking hands, must mean that I have gotten old). The muffler was done by a trick that some one here posted and it works.

Well I have finished my first campaign, thanks for letting me play.

Sorry to disagree with you Andy your M4 looks great and I like the breathing gear that they put on the tanks and I wonder if they really worked since you do not see any later in the war or was it just for landing on the beach. It is dusty and with a flat/sheen where mine still shows up glossy when photographed, I have not found the correct mixture of future and Tamiya X21 yet that gives me a flat cover. I am working on it with all of your posts and threads I learn more each time I read. Thanks for the comments I tried for the first time weathering with oils (filtering and was pleased with the results, but I found out the drying time is considerably more than what I was used to).

Looks good Andreas and Robert, well done.

Andreas, your Sherman is looking a little dusty, I suggest you give it a wipe with a cloth. Nah it looks great mate.

Robert, that was a super speed build. Photo's are improving, however, the shine is a problemo. Are you using your camera flash, if so, don't. What is that white stuff behind the turret by the way?
