Interesting choice, James. I do not know the kit, but it sounds like a Dog of a kit. Do you have a picture of the box to share? Anyway, please share your progress. It could be a interesting build/scratchbuild to follow.
Looking forward to see more

More progress on my Chi Ha. I have added a mix of mud to the suspension and added the decals.
The mud mix is a mix of pastel powder, sand, paint, white glue, static grass and miniature leaves. Dont ask me for the proportions in the mix.
The decals went on fine without any problems with the exception of the black text on the left side of the tank. I will fix that during weathering. I simply went for the biggest decals to break up the camouflage as I have not yet decided on the final diorama setting of the tank - or if there will be a diorama setting at all.
Happy New Year everybody!

Gud day guys. jerem25 reporting in. heres what happening..
Actually this is not the m4a2 tarawa. This is a 1/48 m4a3 sherman that i bought together with the tarawa. THe monster wheels on the left side is actually m4a2's wheels. The m4a3 sherman will play a big role on the build as this tank will be my testing specimen. Because I will use new techniques now, I've decided to test it in the smaller tank before applying it to the subject

Looking good everyone! I have little progress. I have been wasting away in North Carolina for the holiday. I returned home late yesterday. I hope to get some more done tonight.

Thats a good idea jeremiah. I once made two Airfix 1/72 'Zeke' fighters before attempting Tamiya's 1/48 kit.

Happy new year guys!
Today afternoon I' ve started to print out some star-masks for the LVT Alligator.
Checked several pictures and defined the star sizes. I used MS Word (font type:Wingdings 2) and found a five arm star in the character set. Then printed on a sheet of paper in the following sizes:
Side pontoon white star:100pts
Turret star: 78pts
Other stars: around 30pts
Hope it will help you, who are planning to spray the white stars!

Hi everyone,
Here is a little preview of some figures I am currently working on. These Japanese soldiers are some of the five manning a machine-gun, which opposed Starcevich as he advanced down a jungle track towards Beaufort, 1945. The Japs are attempting to flee the position, one drawing his pistol in a last ditched attempt to kill the Aussie. His right hand will be resting on the "Woodpecker", located in a shallow trench. The other is in the process of being shot. He is 90% complete.
They are 1/32 Airfix Japanese 'Multipose' figures, and are the first figures other than 1/72 scale that I have finished.

I have finished my Chi Ha now. It was a relatively fast build and the painting process turned out pretty well. I gave it a pretty heavy weathering process with mud on the suspension, pastels and washes.
All in all I am quite satisfied with this little tank.
Since there is still time until the end of the campaign I am considering placing the Chi Ha in a diorama with a Russian BT-7. Either for the late 30'ties borderclashes or for the 1945 Manchuria invasion.

Great finished product you got there! You should be very proud. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with. Again, great job!

Thanks a lot, Mike. I appreciate it.
I am currently working on an E-10 for the experimentals campaign and a M997 ambulance for the Medic campaign, but after that I will go for the BT-7 as I have found a set of markings for the use in Asia.

Jesper, The weathering effects are astonishing. Very subtle, and the collection of dust around the rivets are sensational. Very good job. What a whirlwind build!

Some pictures of Okinawa vignette I'm working on. I'm going to build a bunker witch a Japanese soldier and a machine gun inside, and 3 marines outside. Figures are not finished yet. I must paint some details, add belts, and spray figures matt.

Tomek, I see you have built the Taisho 3 Heavy Machine-gun. Have you read my review? What are your thoughts on the kit? It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures but it looks well built, good job.

Thanks, Chas. I appreciate it.
It was a fast build. Those old Tamiya kits fly together and look quite good when finished although the detail are a bit heavy in some places.

Looks very promising, Tomek. You have done a good job on painting the figures and with even more details painted they will be great.
Are you going to build a roof for the bunker or is it going to be open topped?
Looking forward to see more

MIke: 2 of marines are from Dragon tarawa set. I changed canteens for late war type. Marine witch flamethrower is from old Dragon iwo jima set. Japanese soldier is from Airfix.
Chas: I read your review and I think it is very nice. I think the kit is ok, and easy to built. Don't you think that " legs" of tripod are to long. I will add a picture of my kit.
Jesper: Yes, I'm going to build a roof for the bunker
Thank you all for interest and I'm happy you like it.

Tomek,
You are right, I just noticed that. Those two front legs are definitely far too long, good observation. Here is a picture that I took of a "Woodpecker" found in New Guinea, as you can see, it has shorter front legs.

Peter,
Looking good, but since the barrels are all the same make, the rust colour should be similar or uniform to each other.
Otherwise, the weathering is very good.

OK off to a start, after some time of cleaning and prepping the parts. I have started the Type94 Tankette.
I scratched the rear portion of the Type11mg and added turret details. For the most part the tank well be closed up and knocked out.
