Jeff nice finnish does make the difference with a wee bit of wheathering
Mike way to fast or you must just have to much free time

Glad you liked it Keith. I was hoping to live up to the rest of the entries. I have never done weathering in the past so I have much to learn.

Arrrggghhh! Just watched my M4A1 hull plummet from the spray booth to the floor with its first OD coat as I reached for the turret. (Low-tack masking tape is such a double-edged sword...) Damage was limited to the left front, and now that the headlight, brush guard, driver's hatch, and lifting eye have been rebuilt I can hopefully get it repainted this weekend.

On the plus side I wasn't pleased with the excessive "green-ness" of Tamiya's OD (XF-62) so have now mixed a better shade with more "drab" to it for the respray. I'm still counting on posting before 1 Sep, but it'll be close!

Latest
You can see I traded transmition covers. I believe since it's a late M4A1 with applique armor and the later gun shield the one piece transmition cover was more probable. The I decided to add the Hedgerow cutter. The bogies have received the Formations straight return roller arms as well as the Lionmark return skids and botls.

Last one (really!...(for the campaign)) Not to worry though I still have 10 Shermans in my stash.

Thanks Guys, I got my stash down by 5. Like I said 10 still in there though, M4A2's, M4A3's, Few more M4A1's, another M10 and Achilles(those last 2 make 12) so I'm good.

Hi to all,
today I want to share some of my WIP pics, it's the quarterscale M4A1 from Tamiya. I used some PE from voyager and the update set from Gasoline which is very nice. The quality of the Tamiya kit is nice but in the end I had problems with the tracks as on both sides I found a small gap left, don't know why ?
So I have to hurry up to finish this one before september. I wish all of you a nice sunday, thanks for looking.
greetings ro

A little late getting started with my project working around the clock to get it done in time. My build is the M4A4 Sherman by DML kit #6035 I will be building the Royal Hussars at Normandy version. An older kit with soft detail and not many parts. I build almost exclusively German armor only a couple of Shermans in the stash. I always wondered why, with the popularity of the Sherman, there are just not that many builds posted here. Then I saw the tracks, wow a little intricate but should look nice when finished

I agree with Keith-really well done I need to get a couple of those kits. I'm a bit low on UK Shermans

Robert I like the looks of your 1/48 Tamiya work so far but the pics are a bit small for my ageing eyes.

Doug I love your Kiwi Sherman with the dozer. Another nudge to get some commonwealth Shermans built.

Jeff Nice work on the good 'ole Tamiya M4 kit!

Great builds everyone! I will post my finished Italeri M4A1 with my first try at milliput sandbags. Comments welcome, I strive to attain the level of workmanship that all have shown here.

Nice lookin Sherman Robert. I know that Italeri kit isn't state of the art but when it's built well it still looks good. Nice sandbags too.

Keith, These New shermans by Dragon are simply great kits to build, The PE is a bit fiddy at times, But then again most PE is. I solder mine for extra strength.
Its a pity dragon only include 1 set of decals for their Sciliy Sherman.
Can hardly wait for their new EL Alamein sherman.

WOW!!! I am away from this tread for two days and an army of great Shermans turns up. Great job everyone!

Fred, Cool choice of kit. I have eyeballed this kit for a long time. The Chinese Sherman with kitty cat markings would look very unique, but maybe too much out of the ordinary. Looking forward to see your Normandy version.

Ross, great desert Sherman(s). I like your subtle and "restrained" chipping. Often overdone in my opinion. Yours is right on The dusting is very realistic. Is it pastels? airbrush? combination?

Robert, very nice Sherman. The sandbags and the stowage looks very good and realistic. The mud looks very light, but maybe that is just the pictures. You could consider a dark brown wash and/or some dark brown overspray.
Italeri made the tracks too tight and they are pulling up the front and back road wheels. I think that is very difficult to fix. Maybe one solution is to add some ballast inside the hull to force the roadwheels down to the ground.

Martin, nice Sherman so far. With all the AM this will be a very unique Sherman. Looking forward to see more.

This campaign is really moving ahead.
