Here is my submission for the Sherman Campaign. It is the Dragon M4A4 kit #6035 an older and much easier kit to build. A little soft on detail but I really enjoyed building a kit with only three pieces of PE and I used all of it. My first campaign, I was a little like the newspaper reporter scrambling to meet a deadline, a little frustrating, but a lot of fun. This kit represents a tank of the RHQ 13th/18th Royal Hussars, Normandy 1944. All comments and critiques welcomed

Hi,
I will not be able to make the dateline afterall, the tracks came apart yesterday and I will need more time to repair them (including paint again..)
Cheers!

(Final attempt at this image URL lark. If the images don't appear, choose the photos button at top of the message to go to the gallery...)
Well, I made it! My Italeri M4A1(76)W still wants some external stowage, a crew, and more weathering, but these will wait til I am ready to build the diorama it will sit in. (Based on a shot I found elsewhere on Armorama of a Sherman being fitted with its hedgerow cutter in prep for the bocage break-out...)
And the view from the photo:
It needs a guy welding attachments on the cutter, and a crew standing around waiting...
And the reason it all took so long:
So much for an easy OOB build!
Is there any chance of a "son of Sherman" campaign over the winter to get me building more of the collection? It's been great seeing all the wonderful models as they develop - my stash of building tips and tricks has expanded no end!

Ok, I think I'm late for this campaign - too many work in my job :/ - but there is my M4A1(76) in progress, almost finished. There was the "Flying Cow" of 2nd Armoured Regt., 1st Armoured Div., and now it's the other from the same unit, but with additional tracks. Missing: unit plates on front additional tracks and box on the rear turret - tommorow will be finished, I hope.
I know I can't catch up with you and my models are poor, but if I started with this campaign...
Sorry for this "old" photos, but I couldn't stop myself...
Regards

What can I say, all the efforts are stupendous. This was my first Campaign on Armorama and my first completed model in nine and a half years. I have learned a lot frequenting these pages and also tried to match the level of perfection that the modellers here are achieving. I also wish to thank all the people that gave my efforts and attempts praise and good will. I almost thought that I would not make the deadline. It seemed easy at first but as I got more into these new kits it got intimidating. PE...what is that in 1/72 kits? The detail and the **TINY** parts blew my mind. It's been an experience and I thank you all.
Besides the **TINY** parts and intimidation of the end results I have started to learn a lot. You people are nothing short of fantastic! I would gladly try to enter (as someone suggest) a "Son of Sherman" or perhaps a "Sherman the 13" campaign. :-)
Besides trying to weather my attempt, the most frustrating part of my build was the treads on my Sherman. They failed to co-operate and required some judicious enlarging of the holes that the sprocket teeth were meant to fit into.
Here are the results of my efforts:
I would also like to thank my decorative painter spouse for both her help and encouragement. Never realized that there was so much involved in this supposedly simple hobby. Had a great time!!!!!
Thanks,
Jan
P.S.- Hope to join you all in a future Campaign.

Tried a MIG pigment technique last night, think I had a little too much dark pigment, came out a bit too brown but you guys be the judge, got called into work today and was going have the tarp made (tea bag) and photos posted, but now I am not sure when I will get back to the workbench. HOPE to have a few photos up tonight, just under the wire.......
