Greetings all!

Just joined the campaign and my entry will be the 1/72 Trumpeter M1126 ICV. As I've just returned to the hobby this will pretty much be an OOB. Also, there is very little 1/72 add on stuff in our local hobby shops. We'll see what develops.

The Box

The Inside

The Pieces

Good luck to all!

I've finally finished my Canadian LAV III. It's the AFV Club Stryker M1126 base kit with RealModel's superb conversion set. I'll post some pics hopefully later tonight.

cheers

Bob

Here is my finished Canadian LAV III. I've also put photos in the campaign gallery. This shows a vehicle as currently deployed in Afghanistan.

I really enjoyed building this kit and was probably the most fun I've had in awhile building a model. I can't say enough about RealModel's conversion set. It's set the standard for conversion kits I think. I'd like to send out numerous kudos to Miloslav Hraban of RealModel for producing this kit. I also added a fair amount of scratchbuilt bits and some afterrmarket stuff including items from Accurate Armour (water bottles, padlocks), excellent Maple Leaf Models items (jerry cans, C7A2, stretchers), Hauler padlocks as well and Archer (markings, flag, CFR plates), Aber buckles and MV lenses.

cheers

What Bob is also being so modest and quiet about is that his LAV III won "Best of Show" at the recent Alberta AFV Modeller Show.

Bob,
What did you use to make the engineer stakes on the right hand side of the vehicle?

They are cam net support poles......they fit together, usually in sections of three to form corner and centre supports to hold the camnet up over the vehicle when it is stopped.

I've used Tamiya Nato Green, When this isn't dark enough, just ad a little bit of black to it.

Hi guys

@ Andreas - I used 13 x 3.8mm long sections of .030 styrene rod for the cam net poles. I painted a couple of full length rods Tamiya black green then cut them up into sections. They fit nicely into the racks with a drop of CA glue on the ends to keep them in place.

@Lars and Robert - I used Tamya NATO green as well, but applied a Vallejo German Camouflage Black Brown filter over a Pollyscale satin coat. That darkened the colour down to the right shade.

New to the campaign and this is my first post. There's some really good modelers here. Hope I can measure up.

Building the Trumpeter Stryker for the campaign. I just got the AFV Club kit and the Edward PE, but I think I want to take my time with that one.

Bent my first PE today

Cheers

Hello All,
The campaign has been extended to 01 December. This was done based on a bunch of emails I had received asking for an extension.
