Pete, that is a really cool Stryker! Pimped up to make a unique and highly detailed Stryker.

Looking forward to see the final result

Anyone know when the MGS from AFV is coming out? I want to do that one, except as I am sure you all know, it isn't out yet.

Here is my Academy 1/72 Stryker. Not quite yet finished, will add some antennas. I just saw today that Legend Productions put out a stowage set for it... a bit too late .

Just started up a blog on my progress so far. Won't have all that fancy-schmancy slat and extras though , just going to fix up the Trumpeter kit a little - well, maybe some stowage. When's the deadline supposed to be again?

This is what I'm talking about:

Hi Folks:

I know I am not in the campaign, but I am building a Stryker RV using the Real Model conversion set and when I saw the above photos I was concerned about the fit I would have when it came time for me to fit the RV upper hull to the donor kit lower hull. In studying the AFV Club upper hull I noticed a lip is present and so one needs to create a lip on the Real Model hull too. I cut the real model pour plug along the obvious line, and then turned my saw bit 90 degrees to create the lip along the inside face of the hull. Real Model has a step on the inside to help create this lip.

Could the lack of making the lip in the above photos be the reason for the hull being too short as above? See my attached photos. My hull is fine. Also, these are just test fits and the upper hull and rear plate (E1) fit fine and here are held on with no glue. I just need to do some detail sanding and a little filling after I glue this on since my slicing was not perfect.

I know my kit is an RV and the above example is a LAVIII but I have the LAVIII too and the pour plug area is the same.

I will start a separate build blog since I am not in the campaign.

Andy

The problem is that I am living in temporary housing w/ limited resources, and this will be an all out project including slat armor and all the other in-country details that go with deployed Strykers - so this will probably go deep into 2009 for me. It would be fun to be part of the campaign but I think I will have to stay on the outside looking in.

I´m currently building a Stryker in the vehicle forums. When it´s finished can I show it here? Because I'm no member of this campaign.

got a quick question for everyone. what brand of paints are you using? i am a die hard model master user and most of the kit calls for mr. color paints. i have most of the shades in the mm line except for a few of them in the mr color line and i was wonderning is all the colors that they list used on thie model? i have the afv 1126 stryker.
