Greetings all! Some really great work being showcased here. I got most of the kit body together and found that a few areas needed some smoothing out. In particular were the rear lower hull sponsoons where the pieces did not mate well and the hull rear where it attaches to the body roof. The NATO green paint you see on the model was sprayed to help any defects in the filling/sanding stand out.
THe hull lifting rings/eyes were solid so I drilled them out and shaped then with a Excel super sharp blade.
Start a two week vacation period after tomorrow so things should progress faster.
Cheers,
Jan

Mike, you need to get the URL of your picture and imbed it between image tags (img,/img). Here is the code for one of your pictures:
The results of using that code are:

Close up shots are very dependant on your digital camera (make and type). Your Coolpix L5 should have a Macro or close up mode that might allow for closer shots. There are also quite a number of other Scene Modes that you might try. The simplest way to find out what works is unfortunately going to be experimentation, trial and error. I personally use a Sony Alpha A100 and take the pictures with a aperture setting of f20 or greater. The higher the aperture the greater the depth of field meaning that more of the object is in focus.
Hope this helps!

Nice clean Stryker Duncan!
I'm building the same kit too.
I'm currently building the AFV Club RWS, it easily adapts the Trumpeter's kit.

Hello All,
Here is the proposed ribbon for completing the campaign. The ribbon shows the Crest of the Royal Canadian Armour Corps, Stryker Badge and the Crest of the Royal Canadian Armour Corps. These three represent the three major countries using the LAV III. There are other countries that have test and evaluation copies but these are the big three.

This is a Trumpeter IFV. Basically straight out of the box build. I did turn the wheels and used a AFV Remote Weapon Station kit. The detail on that is far more detailed and it had a whole lot of extras. Painting was Tamiya Acrylics and weathering was with Testors Acrylics. I entered it in the local Hobbytown USA modelling contest and took 3rd. Of course they only had 3 entries in the armor division.

Hey Mike. Nice work on the Stryker bro. I'm no expert by any means, but I made this setup (below) and took my pictures outside (not in direct sunlight. take with overcast or high clouds). It really helped. Try it. That way we see more of your awesome model, and less of your kitchen.
