I guess you're right as for my missing parts concerns and I should address Dragon Care (don't want to bother you with that, cause I'm sure you will need your spare parts for future builds). I haven't seen wooden gun 'lock' yet, so link would be much appreciated.

Hi all; left to right 3 Wittman head´s, Hobby fan (AFV), Dragon and legend, I prefer DML! I painted a Takahashi Figure, a General Góring Tank Officer. Beauty cast! (some pictures) Congrats! are superb!

...No longer 'Standing in the water'! Finally got back to the Werkstatt with this long term project, after a year of utter mayhem. I am back at the work... (er dining room table) bench, and will be dusting off '211' later this week. I extremely sorry for the vacuum, with the updates. Hopefully I can now concentrate on continuing this blog, and pay back all the kindness and patience shown over these last couple of years. One positive is... I eventually managed to get to La Gleize to see Helmut Dollinger's '213'!



I have put a walkaround, photographic survey upon my 'Barkmann's Corner' Blogspot, they are large photo's so lots of details.

Haha! Now that is funny Grant! I was told by some guys in Stavelot, that it has been a dire summer in NW Europe! It was a bit on and off when we were there.
Glad you like the Jacket, saved me from many a burning Tank, it was a bit warm though when marching the lads from Trois Pont to La Gleize! I am starting to come round to your way of thinking on chipping, rust, water marking etc. '213' was notable in it's lack of rust and weather streaking, even though many avid 'Panzer Mountaineers' have crawled all over her and chipped a lot of the edges and raised fittings. Maybe the lack of rust streaking is down to the high carbon content in the rolled plate armour?

Phil, I've seen the La Gleize KT many times, and looking at those photos in your blog has made me want to go back again. I spent many a long weekend mooching around the Ardennes when I was living in Germany. One of my favourite parts of the planet not only because it's steeped in history but also because it's utterly beautiful.

And as you say, Belgian beer knocks the spots off the muck they serve over here!!

Last time I was in La Gleize, the KT it was just all-over "dunkelgelb" ....



Looks like they've now finished the paint job, but I'm really not sure about that "rotbraun". And it could definitely do with some washes to add depth. A bit of subtle weathering wouldn't go amiss either. Looks far too toy-like as is .

Count me in Phil. Pigments by the bucketload applied with large brooms. Much fun to be had there I reckon .

Not a race weekend at Spa I don't think, but it was a sultry summer's day and the heavens opened while we were there. We'd also been rained on earlier at the Grandmenil Panther.

I can also see myself returning to that neck of the woods permanently at some point in the medium-term future (I'd go back next week if I could). Probably just across the border in Germany though, as the tax regime in Belgium is punitive and property prices in Luxemburg are unaffordable.

Been going through this thread again, most outstanding and breathtaking work old chap!

Thanks for everyones continued interest... Even during my prolonged absence, things are slowly getting back to normal, and I have been tinkering and purchasing in a Tiger theme again.
The '211' Doppelganger is all repaired and ready for painting, and the other two Late 2nd Kompanies Tigers will be getting a dust off ready for paint processes shortly.
Two things I recently purchased...


Just when you thought that there wasn't enough brass on a Tiger! Seriously these are excellent additions to the RB range, whilst the DML supplied antennae bases are very good, these two part machined parts are a lot crisper.

Another item I have bought and I am awaiting is the Verlinden 1:35 Panzerwerk Tiger I Stage 1 Hull, #2648... Whilst it looks very interesting, I have one initial reservation, by depicting the hull roof with an armoured turret protection ring (February 1944), this will limit a lot of modellers, to a very short production period, as the hull has the flat 'un-sculpted' lower hull front end plates (up until March 1944?) It does have the September 1943 firewall though! Still a very interesting and affordable production piece of factory dioramas or 'wrecking' projects!!! The thing that really interests me is the hull floor, those supports and braces look like they will save a lot of scratch building.
