Hi all!

If any of you gentlemen knows a site with good pictures of damaged buildings, destroyed vehicles, sunken ships and crashed vehicles, please post the links here - they'd be great inspiration for dioramas.

Great idea Andrzej !

I have a couple of the Mirage 7TP's in my stash - and a nice set of Fruils, an Armo Barrel, and an ABER PE to suit !

Something like this would be cool, I think. Any ideas ?

Cheers

Paul

Paul, It would be great to see some Polish TP7 here even if damaged. Taste of defeat was very bitter back in '39 especially with the Soviet knife in the back...

Great to have you with us!

So, it sounds like I'm the only one not doing a WWII dio as long as that's ok, I'm ready to go, I just have to decide which dio I'm actually going to do and get my digicam to work BTW, my dio will most likely be an ACW piece, though I have a Custer dio just waiting to get started too

ACW? Anarchy Championship Wrestling diorama would be cool . Just kidding...
Which moment/place of ACW you are going to show on your diorama?

@ Jaymes - which war are you plannign to show? Vietnam, Indo-Pakistani, or something form Middle East (Six-Day War, Lebanese Civil War)?

Great! This campaign is going to have quite wide range of wars depicted: from ACW to 'Nam... Who wants to show capitulation of Jerusalem to Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub?

You know Andrzej, I'd rather build this 7TP 100 % in a Dio, having knocking out a Pz I or Pz II.

It's a shame I didn't enrol in an earlier Campaign that suited !

I'll think about it....

BTW: My Granddad fought as a member of the AK in Warsaw.

Cheers

I'm not surprised . First time I've seen your callsign I thought that you have to have some Polish roots (BTW, part of my family lives in Geelong and Melbourne).
Please give your Granddad my best regards and thanks for his fight.

Gentlemen,

I saw & signed up, because one of the proposed campaign ribbons was the unfortunate Panther in Cologne. I've been thinking of it as a modelling subject for some time (to use up an old Tamiya kit) and this campaign will give me the push to build it. It'll be a real test of weathering techniques, and a poigniant reminder of the futility of war. (The crew were left behind as a rear-guard when the Germans retreated across the river to escape the advancing 3AD, so nobody expected them to come back...)

@Tom,
Great to see you with us! I'm very happy you want to build this one of most famous wrecks of WWII - it will be great addition to this campaign.
I believe I've seen a movie showing this tank burning. Two of crew members managed to run away from the tank before the backdraft, but as far as I remember they'd been killed anyway...

We're starting in 2 weeks so start preparations, people!

I am having a change of plans.
I am going for a Sd.Kfz. 251/22 on a flatbedrailcar, being overrun by advancing Sovjet infantry.
Any objections to that??

Andrzej, glad you like the panther idea - now I have to carve the rubber tires from all those burned wheels! Exactly how long do we have?...

I will have the same problem (I'm going for burned Panther as well) so we can always call for extension

Great idea for a campaign, and I think perfect for me to try my first attempt at a 1/35 diorama proper. I've got 2 ideas

1) D-Day-ish Tamiya Centaur with troops from the MB POW set being escorted back to the beaches

2) Tamiya Flakvierling with battle damage, with some Tommies either walking or fighting their way round it.

Tempted to go for the second as it will give the chance to experiment at destruction, and I wonder if the MB POW set might be quite common in this campaign...

WE'RE ON!!

Let's start building dioramas!
I will be late since my room is a mess righ now - I don't even have a desk to work on in the moment. Fortunately my computer is working . It will take at least a week to bring my stuff back and be ready to start working on models and I still have to finish Blitzkrieg2 and Cold War entries.

Have fun!

Hey Andrzej and everyone,

Just checking in as I am definitely in on this one. I am thinking of doing some in 1/35 from the American perspective in the Battle of the Bulge or something similar. Some wounded troops and a destroyed jeep kind of thing. I have a bunch of stuff in boxes and am finishing up some other projects, but once I start pulling stuff out, I will post some pictures.

this is the place to post right?

Hi Billy,

Nice to have you with us!
This is the right place to post your progress and discuss the issues of this campaign.
I've already asked Mark Millard to change the name to "Bitter taste of defeat campaign" and for gallery space, so we should have it done soon.
