Hi all
This is my entry to this campaign. I only have one major problem - I don't know how to get the pictures onto the official campaign gallery. I've tried, but it dosen't work for me, and I hate to loose this ribbon.
Jacob

I will take care of these as well.

Jacob, great paint job with nice weathering as already pointed out by others. The dusty effect is very convincing.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Gary
Thanks for the kind words... About getting the pictures in on the right site, I might be on to something now. Is it correct, that all I've got to do is, go to the campaign site on the KitMaker page, then make a reply in what ever campaign I wish to, and then load my pictures from my KitMaker gallery on to this reply? The same way I've got the pictures on to this thread?

Putting pictures in the campaign gallery of Kitmaker is different. To get to the Kitmaker gallery, click on the PHOTOS tab up near the top of this page. You might have to sign on at this point. At the top right of the page you will see a "Login" link to do so if needed. Find the CAMPAIGNS gallery in the list and click on it. Then click on "Currently Active Campaigns". Then click on the "! Blitz II Africa" link. Once you are there, up at the top right you will see an "Upload Photos" link. This takes you to the upload page. Click on one of the Choose buttons and your browser will bring up a box where you can choose photos from your PC. Once you have chosen your photos, click the "Upload/Submit" button and that should be it.

Rick, smashing dio you have there!!
You should make a feature out of it!

As for my own progress, I started to paint, despite the fact that my ordered paint still hasn't come in yet...

For this I gave the gun a basic coat of dark grey, followed by several washes in panzergrey, beige and sand.
I also did the first figure, which is basically completed. Just needs some details and weathering.

All I need to do now is 4 more figures and all the accessoires....

Very nice start, Ron. Looking forward to see more when the last paints and figures arrive.

Rick, very dynamic diorama. That guy on the back is going to have a rough landing. Excellent paintjob - especially on the underside of the chassis. It looks very realistic.

I have started on my own entry. A Kubelwagen used by JG 27 in 1942 in Africa. It is the small Tamiya model. I finished building it in little more than one hour. Tamiyas engineering is superb as always. Just pour glue into the box, shake it, and out comes the build model.

@ Rick, great stuff! Very dynamic!
@ Ron, I like your progress. Figure looks very good.
@ Jim, please say hi to Bruce from me. I hope he's fine and that he'll be back here soon.
@ Jesper, I remember that model - I've built it about six years ago... It almost worked as you've described but I've forgot to cut the parts befor pouring glue into the box and my Kubelwagen came out with sprue parts sticking from every side . I liked building it.

I didn't managed to improve my weathering... what to do... Now I'm painting three figures for it but they are probably worst figures I've seen for years - they're more like plastic bulbs than actual figures... I won't be best of my models, that's for sure .

Hello All,
15 days till the end of the campaign.

To everyone who did a photo's and updates, They look great and thank you for sharing your builds and tips with all of us.

Thank all of you for your kind words, Prayers and support to Jim while I was gone. This is the best site I know to belong to as a modeler IMHO.

I have got the road wheels and a few small items done for my build, I am glad I still have 15 days to complete it.
Cheers,
Bruce

@ Jesper: I may have to try your method, sounds like fun.

@ Wayne: I still like your Sherman, that camo pattern looks great and thanks again for your description on how you accoplished it.

@ Bruce: That was faster than 10 days, glad to have you back.

Wayne, I agree with the others. Very nice camouflage on your Sherman.

I have now finished my Kubelwagen. Probably one of my fastest builds ever. A couple of washes and some pigments were all the weathering I did. I am going to use it in an early africa diorama with a 1/48 Bf 109E aircraft, so the Kubelwagen should not be to battered.

Sorry the pictures are not more clear, but to few daylight hours to get good pictures.

Comments welcome

It looks Good Jesper!..it has all the tones working together to give it a "warm tone"......and the seats are especially well done ...they look good and dirty/worn out...
can I risk a positive critique please? I think I would have drybrushed the steeringwheel and the insturments(but I admit I cant see the insturments properly at camera angle)
Its a well done kubelwagen

Hello All,
@ Rick,
I would guess that the Dio would be named "Yeeee Haaaa, The Desert Bronco" Great work on your build and dio. Thanks for the photo's.
@ Ron,
Looking great, I also like the sandbags. Most of the one's I have seen look like melted plastic, Yours look real. The weathering done on the Artillery piece looks great. Thanks for the photo's.
@ Wayne, Like the others, The cammo and weathering looks great. Thanks for the photo's.
@ Jesper,
Looking good, I agree with Jim the steering wheel need a little weathering like worn spots from wear and tear. I also think that it needs a little dust on it, Driving in the desert throws up a lot of dust and when the wind blows, You get dust everywhere. I worked in the desert for 2 years and know that dust gets everywhere.
@ Robert,
I got lucky, Great Docs and Real Ugly Nurses I thought that all Nurses had to be Young and cute, Not Frankenstein's Monsters. With me being such a PITA, I got out on early Parole
I am still working on my build,
Thanks for all of your photo's, Updates and tips,
Cheers,
Bruce
