Cheers!

Hi Rick. Thank you. I was going to use MM Afrika Braun '42 but I also wanted to try the Tamiya Acrylic paint. I have not worked with Acrylic paint before but have herd good things, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I started with a base of Tamiya XF-49 Khaki and then applied a mix of 50/50 XF-49 Khaki and XF-59 Desert Yellow to lighten certain areas and give contrast to the monochrome finish.

Jim thanks I used the Voyager Tiger I Initial Production Africa Troop PE35061. A very good kit and well worth the head ache that came with it. The tool clamps really work but very frustrating to put together.

Cheers
Todd

Nice Tiger, Todd!

I DID IT!!
I finished my (first) entry for this campaign! Or at least as far as I can go right now.

The FH is done, but as I said, I can not completely finish it, because there are other plans for the base and I have to keep things loose on it for the time being.

Here are the final pictures.
First the base with camonetting. The net follows the shape of the base, hence the odd corners in the back.

The base, gun and accessoires;

Willie Wasser with extra lighting to show the water.

The man in his "natural" habitat, complete with towel, mirror and razor;

Then there was the missing member; Klemens Koch;

The Breakfastclub;

And the endresult will be called "Guten Morgen, Afrika!" with appropriate lighting;

@ Ron - great scene! I realy like the composition of figures on such small area.

Here's my entry... It's overcooked and I'm VERY far from being proud of it but I simply have no time and patience to repaint this model...

@Bruce: building for this campaing was a great lesson for me - I've done one of my worse models, but I've learned a lot. Thanks for leading this campaing!

@ ALL: it was a pleasure to participate and to see your builds!

Andrzej

Hello All,
@ Todd,
Great looking Tiger. The detail and paint looks great. Thanks for being in the campaign.
@ Ron,
Great looking FH, Diorama and figures. You always make such interesting builds.
@ Andrzej,
I still think that your build looks great, To me. I like how the flag covers a little bit of the model, It looks like the wind blew it off.
@ Wayne,
great looking Sherman. I like how you did the cammo. Thanks for being in the campaign.

My build is 25% done, I will be working in the wee hours on it and a build for Mighty 88 get get done in 2 days.

Please remember to get your photo's in the gallery for your ribbon.
I am allowing a 24 hour grace time after the end date so everyone has the time to get your photo's in the gallery. I will then award your ribbons. You must have your photo's posted by midnight December 2 MST to get your ribbon. The ribbons will be awarded on December 3rd.

@ Wayne - the camo scheme on your model is absolutely great - one of the most interesting I've seen.
BTW: Are you family to Matthew Bellamy?

@ Bruce - thank you, you're being too kind my friend! To be honest I have no time for another campaign but I'll do my best to get another Blitz in my ribbon collection

Hello Andrzej,
Lots of time before we get to the next Blitz. With all of the campaigns running or waiting to start, I am going to let the dust die down before I set a time for the Start Date.
It will be late next year most likely.
I am just seeing if anyone wants to do another one.
On you build, I do think that it looks great, It looks like it got caught in a strong sand storm. I have read about some of the storms that happen during the 1941-1943 time line. Some units lost men from the storm, The suffocated from the dust and the sand. Even some vehicles were buried under tons of sand.
Thanks for being in the campaign,
Cheers,
Bruce

Well Bruce, the campaign ends on a cool day here. Kind of different from the hot days and freezing nights in the desert. I have had a very enjoyable time here in your BLITZ II AFRICA campaign. Thanks for the help and to all for the beautiful builds.

Hello all

I have completed my model yesterday, but I hadn't time to place photos
For this campaign I have made model of Italian M13/40 medium tank from Zvezda in 1/35. I apologize, that I didn't participate in this campaign actively, but I looked often here...I have placed photo in Campaign gallery

Cheers!
Adam
