Thanks for the comments, Robert. The weathering on the tires alone took four sittings over three days and I cannot presume to count the number of colours and shade variations of them that are used. I guess you could say I like the challenge of small scale. I wear corrective lenses and also use a 5X Optivisor to see what I'm doing. The greatest aid, or bane, of the building process is the digital camera that is totally unforgiving. I'll check and recheck pictures at each build stage with pictures as they see things the visor seems to miss. The periscopes lenses were first painted a metallic silver/gunmetal and when thoroughly dry I painted over them with Tamiya X23 Clear Blue leaving streaks of the silvery colour to show through for contrast. I tried to hollow out the main gun with the finest drill I had but I couldn't get as deep as I would have liked. Also, the searchlight above the commanders station had a sink hole in the centre of it. I got a small drill and enlarged the sink hole, painted the reflector silver and then filled it in with Testors' Window Maker. Here's a super blow-up.

Cheers,
Jan

Well Folks,
Here is my submission to the Mighty wheels campaign. I built this LAV-25 as an early vehicle circa mid to late 80’s when they were delivered in mono green and had the M60 mounted. I removed the molded on roof hatches of the Italeri kit and replaced them with ones from a Trumpeter kit that someone kindly sent me. I also did some scratch building of the interior to give it a more “cluttered look.
Thanks again for the extension, as I may have lost interest after the December deadline. At least this way I did get a chance to complete it. Now I will have to think of something to build for the “True North Strong and Free” Campaign.
Eric

Dear all!

First of all I’d like to thank you for participating! Special thanks for our Military Man Emre for starting this campaign.
Second thing: I hope I gave awards to everyone who submitted picture but if I’ve missed anyone – please PM me.
Third thing: I’ll try to gather pictures today and post them as campaign photo-feature. I hope it will be published faster than Airborne campaign feature (which is not published yet and it ended over half year ago ).

Sadly, I was not able to finish this campaign. The overall oil wash on my Centauro is taking ages to dry (it's been a week and a day, and is almost dry now). Even once it dries, I still have quite a ways to go before it's done. Oh well...

Lucas, don't worry, you can always wait for another "Get The Job Done" campaign and earn a ribbon by finishing this model .

It's a strange thing about drying time of your oils... I'm using enamels and turpentine based oils for weathering as well and I never had to wait more than two days...

See you around mate!
