Thanks for the comment, Robert. I have made a little more progress over the holidays. The sand base colour and the green camouflage is now on. Next is the brown camouflage.

More to follow......

My Revell 1/35 SWB Mercedes "Wolf"

Made my own windscreen/wiper masks (a first for me!) Does it look right?

Still needs to be kitted out with stowage and I've 2 MG3s in a set of modern MGs which I'd love to attach somhow, but can't find any images of this version armed....

All comments welcomed!

Cheers,
Sean

I am reinforcing you guys in this campaign!

I received Tamiya's Schwimmwagen, together with an MR wheelset and Royal Model's updateset for it, as a gift.
It is a nice little kit, hardly any "mighty wheels", more of a "mine wheels" actually.

The current progress;

Hello guys,
I've just started my Armo Skot-2A. I'm not confident in finishing this build before the deadline but I'll try the challenge anyway !
Pictures soon.

OK,
here are the first pics of this Skot2A. Definitely not a shake and bake kit. A lot of dry fitting necessary prior to assemble every bit of resin.
The undercarriage is a nightmare due to unclear instructions and parts being way too large for their supposed location !

I still have to fit the water propellers protections and I can go with the hull details.

PS: the "orange" parts are resin ones. The white rods are plastic ones used to replace too short or ill-shaped resin parts.

What a beast, Olivier! It seems like you have a tough task ahead of you. Hope you have some good references.

I have made a little more progress on my build and added another camouflage colour.

Seeing my obligations in real life and the amount of business travel I have to do for the rest of January I will have a tough time finishing on time.

Will it be possible to get a month extension to finish this campaign?

Hi Jesper, you're fully right I got a tough job but the toughest part is behind now, hopefully !!

I put the water propellers in place. Some PE parts to make round any bending template
But I finally managed to have looking quite good. Pics will follow. The hull fittings will be easier to build.
Refs pics are necessary to help understanding the instructions. Here is the sheet for the undercarriage.

And I second you in your time extension request, I fear I'll miss time myself too.

Hello Jesper:

Your camo looks too pretty to cover up with dirt and dust. Actually it is a great job, can not wait to see the finished model.

Thanks for the comment, Robert. I appreciate it. I agree with you. I think I will go for some light weathering.

Olivier, glad I am not the only one running at little late. Hopefully aone month extension will be approved.

Can I "third" the proposal for a brief extension? Freezing weather here has ruined my painting schedule (priming happens in the shed...) and I'm afraid I might run over a bit.

I can see why that wouldn't be fun this week and ye have it only slightly worse than over here!

Keep warm,

Some more progress. A lot of sanding to fit the hatches onto the roof and a headache to have the propellers protections bent into a satisfactory shape.

Well, life has a way of disrupting the best laid plans. I hoped to be much farther along by now but the afore mentioned excuse and a broken pin vice intervened. I'm taking some time today to play catch up.

A couple of not so exciting pictures. The handles for the main engine covers are done and in place. The holes for the radiator cover handles are drilled.

Hoping to have the rest of the handles/rails in place today and move on to more fun stuff.

Cheers,
Jan

Oh Well
This Weather has stopped all my building work at the moment as my shed's like a mini Freezer. -5 in there last weekend. Hoping this weekend it will warm up so I can get on with my build.
I've painted my Kraftwagen in the Panzer Grey just need it to warm up enough so that I can seal it ready for the weathering process.
Some Great build for this campaign so far.

Well I got a couple of pictures uploaded, I will try and do some more on it this week. The figures I am using are the ones from Paint Those Troops Campaign.

This is the driver for the mule.

It might not be ahuge vehicle but it did a lot of work.

I realized I hadn't posted a link to my build log for my Centauro here. Well, here it is!

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/149910&page=1

I'm going to be racing the clock to get this one finished by the deadline. I hope to at least start priming this weekend, but with an 8-month-old with a cold, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do.

Let me know what you think!

I finally got my pin vice working and made some more progress on the little BTR. The exact positioning of the grab handles/rails can be trying at best but thanks to the drawings Bill (Boggie) provided I can measure and locate them fairly accurately. The process is rather tedious but I anticipate the end result will be worth the time and effort.

The engine compartment handles are done so next up was the upper hull side doors. Here you see the first handle on the left door, The piece of styrene is temporarily placed under the wire to act as a spacer while the glue sets.

Next up was the forward handles.

As far as I can tell there are only four more grab bars to locate on and about the upper part of the troop doors. You can see them in the picture below.

These will be a bit tricky as they will be positively tiny in this scale. Once those are done I'll prime the metal parts with oil based paints, do some preshading and then on to the kits plastic parts.

Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are welcome.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi all,
as yo ucan see I'm nearing the end of the assembly steps ! Still need to make new wheels shafts and it will be sent to the paint workshop !
I definitely don't recommend this kit for a beginner

If our great beloved (is it sufficient ?) campaign leader would be kind enough to grant us some more time, it would be soooo great !

Here is my completed entry. The migthy mule carring wounded and supples during the battle of Hue.

It has been over 10 years sense I have done any building. So I didn't try and weather this for fear of ruining it.

Finally complete:

I left off the soft top because it hides too much of the detail. This was a lovely little build, went together very well. Painted with humbrol enamels and a brush and then weathered with Mig pigments. Stores are just from the spares box. I considered attaching the 2 MG3s to the roll bars back and front, but just left them for the moment.

Where do I post final pics for the campaign?

Cheers,
Sean
