I took a piece of 1/4 inch plywood and glued it on to the bottom of the base. No more flexing there

That's probably what I would do Sal, but that's more out of old habit than anything else

I bought 1/4 inch fiberboard and glued it to the inside of the base, no flex at all. Now if Iwant to add another base to it I can just glue them to a nice piece of wood. Again thank you for the tip.

Glad I could help, Fiber board would work too, I just had ply wood laying around the garage. Also the ply wood is a little dry so if I shred the edge of it make for some good looking wood rubble

Well a little progress made today. The building is all together, puttied and sanded. I inserted a piece of 1/4" fiber board into the base. I put a couple of shims in where there was a big difference in height. I have also figured out what figures I am going to use.


Pat I will be up to another campaign like this, just depends on when next year you are going to do it.

If anybody is reading and following this I need some feedback. Does it look like there are too many figures in this diorama? The figures on the inside are german prisoners, and on the outside are russian gaurds. The first picture is after primer.

Thomas: Nice progress on your build. I think you will be alright with the figures as long as the German prisoners are clustered closely together. I would consider rethinking your placement of the Russian guards however, guns don't quite have the same fear factor when they are pointed in the opposite direction and are accompanied by "blind" eyes

those are the same points i would suggest, maybe one guard in front and the others behind a tight cluster of prisoners driving them forward. maybe have the front guard looking to his right around the corner as the enter the open area. keep it rolling, looks good. cheers, mh.

Pete, that diorama looks great. Those hidden germans give it some character.
Well I need some more feedback, I have all of the figures assemblied. So what do you think of the placement. Also the coloring of the brick building and base? I have to do some puttying of the figures and then I can paint them. I also need to make some debris for the base and inside the building. Plus all of the windows and stuff. So here is the pictures.

Thomas: I didn't realize there were 4 Russian guards! I hope I am right in thinking the one in the rear is a Russian Guard? Good placement of the figures, and I would encourage you to consider MH's suggestion of having the guard at point looking to the right to see what's down the street.

Chris: No worries mate, best of luck with your health and hope we can look forward to having you join us in the next campaign! I may have to drop out too if I can't get back in time to finish my entree.

There is 4 gaurds, I'll try and reposition the lead to make like he is looking down the side street or try to add another gaurd. I spent today putting up the figures and doing some painting on the building. I'll post some photo's tommorrow.

Okay I need some feedback again. I am hoping the colors for the German uniforms is right. I still need to do the eyes and weathering of them. Also how does the building and base look? I have to weather it and put in the windows and some debris aroundthe bottom.





If all goes well tommorrow I will do the russians and finish up the germans. As always all comments are welcome.
