Havn't done any work on mine for the last 2 weeks as I've been on holiday , looks like you lot have been very busy though.

Good to see that there's some quite some progress!




Same goes for me. I have spend quite some time during the past two weeks on our real-life house in order to make a new bedroom. Because of that I had to move all my hobby stuff to a new place and I could not continue with the diorama. I will need an extension of at least one month in order to finish it properly.

Okay extension granted. The campaign page ending date won't change so it will disappear on that date - this is just to keep more people from enlistng during the extension.

Hi boy's, I just gave a demo on the costruction of miniart buildings. Ryzhko Alexey, the executive designer of the buildings took the time to show me the way to take them apart and assembley of the pieces. First you will need a heavy scriber. Not the one used for panel lines, but kind of like a leather punch. I found 2 types for this at a hobby store called Kit Kraft. 2nd , you will need to sand the sides for a smooth fit. You can make a sanding board with a piece of plywood and glue down a sheet of sand paper. Elmers spray glue works best for this.Now just move the halves in a circle motion until smooth. Now for assembley. The best glue is testors bottle glue. It has a large brush for applying the glue. There are other tips for detailing the buildings, just let me know if you have any problems. K.

Good info Ken, although I think most of us are beyond that stage. You should think about putting together a feature article about what you learned if you are happy with the results.

Hi Ken -where did you give the demo (Any photos) and how did you get to meet the guy from miniart?
As Jeremy says we're near the end of this campaign so it would be be a bit late for us but you should write a feature and submit it to Armorama

I gave the demo at our club in burbank cal. I am not sure if anybody took any pic's, sorry. I learned to build the buildings at the nat's back 2 years ago. I have built a few of the buildings and will try to get them posted asap. They are great. They come complete with drain spouts window frames etc... the only thing they don't have are the clear windows, which can be bought at your local hobby store. i use tamiya paint strait on the surface with a little wash to detail. Then finish off with some dry brushing. i will see if Jim S. wants me to put something together for a review or a how to. Thanks for the nice reply's , K

Have started to paint the indide walls. I'm using some old Humbrol colours that I'd had for years. Will stain & weather these once everything else is painted on the inside. I've added a few more pic's to my Photobucket album. (sorry there on there just dont have a lot of space on my account here).

Once the floors have been added & the building stuck on it's base ( still to make) I can add the rubble etc.

Here's an update on my Ruined Church diorama. I have cleaned the wooden frame (sanding, making it smooth etc.) and then I gave it a nice layer of glossy black paint. Then I masked it of, so I won't have to worry anymore about messing up the frame. Then I gave the diorama again some extra details; you guys inspired me to add some parts of a roof, thanks for that! When everything was in place, I sprayed Revell primer over the whole dio (the light colored primer from the rattle can) and after that I sprayed the whole dio black (Humbroll Matt 31, also from a rattle can). Now I'm ready to apply colors!

Great stuff Marnix. Really looking forward to the painted version. You know seeing your work and Rafal Jankowski's dio in this thread makes me think we could have had a campaign just based on the ruined church kit

Indeed, I think this is a very popular dio base. The colors on the box art of the Ruined Church are very nice, I hope I can capture that same look.

Rafal is certainly on the right track to make it a very nice dio, let's hope we can meet up to that standard!
