@Pat: Very impressive to see how you connected the separate church parts! Your build starts to look like a cathedral. I'm eager to see more of your progress and curious about the paints you'll use.

@Stefan: To bad you had to bail out on this campaign, but at least you've found your motivation again to build. Maybe watching the progress in this campaign will motivate you even more. Good luck with your service next month!

@Jeremy: All the luck to you! When can we expect some pictures of your progress? I'm curious to see a Miniart building in 1/72 scale.

As for me, I'm currently enjoying my vacation away from home, so no progress on my project.

hi guys, i'm fairly new here and i just started to understand the concept of the campaigns. i just started a new diorama that will use a Miniart building and i have the vehicle interior constructed and the basic building underway, but my questions are:

can i enlist at this time? and what if i don't get it done by the deadline (do i submit what i have finished)? and when is the very last day i can send pics and how do i do this? also, how many update pics are appropriate (my album is getting full and i have done a lot of work already unphotographed).

thanks for any answers. i'm in the midst of customizing the Italian City Building to work with the diorama i have planned. cheers, mh.

You should be able to enlist still, go to the "CAMPAIGNS" tab and look for the Miniart Diorama campaign in the list of active campaigns on the right. Click on it to bring you to it's info page where you can enlist, and click on the enlist button.

As far as pictures go, each campaign will let you know what is required for the campaign, usually either an in progress shot and a final shot, or just a final shot.

Also of note, the build for the campaign usually has to be started within the active period of the campaign.

The build will have to be completed by the end date of the campaign, and a final picture of it posted. Otherwise you will not get the campaign ribbon.

You might want to read the thread "For Those New to Armorama Campaigns". It should you how to upload images for campaigns.

I am withdrawing from this campaign, guys.
I haven't done any modelling for months untill last week. I will be going on vacation and have loads of other builds going on too, so I will never make it in time to finish my building.

You will be seeing it in the future, though!

Not a problem Ron, we'll miss having your build here. I would like to still see what you have so far, as I'm sure the rest of us would too. I'm trying my hardest to complete my entry for this campaign, but I've only had a couple of weeks to work on it and will be traveling for a week sometime in the near future. So I may be in the same boat as you, but we'll see...

I have pics of my build progress guys, I just need to find the cable to connect my camera to my computer.

That's a pity Ron but I understand. I'm pushing it to finish my own entry. You'll get back to it eventually.

wow Pat, yours is truly coming out nicely. having bought a Miniart kit recently and now nearly having it ready for paint makes me see why you thought a Miniart Campaign would be useful. they are very nicely done pieces and can create brilliant dioramas with the right techniques and info. kudos for this campaign topic.

i will try to post some pics of my attempt soon, just need to finish adding door hinges and brass railing mounts to my customized kit. cheers, mh.

Hi, I just wanted to jump in and say that you All are doing some Amazeing Builds with these kits. I have learned so much about these kits from following your builds here so just Last week i picked up my first Miniart kit /Village Road w/Ruined House. hello everyone,
here is the Miniart building ready for paint. it is the Italian City Building which was too large for the single vehicle diorama i have planned. so i got out the mini hand saw and customized it into a new configuration that will lend itself better for my needs. i am leaving off the gutter, doors, windows and such for the paint process.


here you can see the front wall section i cut away. i cut it in a manner that made a nice joint for the corner. it also got rid of the "italian column" detail making it more generic.


the interior details will be wood so i will construct that after the plastic components are painted.


the railing was warped using a heat paint stripping gun and spare brass from old frets was used to make railing mounts.


the doors needed hinges so i made some and broke apart one of the insert door panels.

@ Marnix I don't like the kit windows so I'm trying something different.

@ Hellhound I like that a lot, especially the angle you cut at - still gives the sense of the whole building while taking up less space plus you have the leftover part for another vignette.
@ Milvehan - the trick is:
- get the right tools
-measure twice and cut once
- take your time

Still not sure if I'm going to finish this. Had an unfortunate mishap two nights ago that knocked the whole table over causing me to start over on most of the T-34/85 as well as the 1/6 figure I am working on for a friend. I'm going to hang in here the best I can.

Nice one Jeremy. That should look good with a large base and some rubble added. How did you find the construction of the Miniart kit? You should have no problem finishing this in three weeks. Do what I do break it down into steps and do a little every day.

great work Pat, i love the how the tiles look unpainted. the rubble is very well done indeed. do you sand the frame after you are done? do you find that easier than masking the wood frame during base assembly? cheers, mh.

Thanks Pat, the Miniart kit went together quite nicely with the exception of the brick inserts for the window. The viewing/shooting hole going through these is heavily offset for this scale which has caused some problems, but not too bad. I actually only have two weeks as I will be on the road for at least one week this month. I'm not the type to throw in the towel however, so you can count on future updates from me.

Btw, your Miniart church ruin looks spectacular Pat, especially with the scratchbuilt roof.

I have finished my Street w/ Park Wall and Dragon's 5cm PAK 38 with crew. It could use a little more clutter, but that's to be added in the future.
