Stephen,
Go to the campaign gallery HERE.
In the upper right corner click "Login" and enter your information. Once you've done that you will see an "Upload Photos" in the same area. Click on that and just follow the prompts. If you have further difficulties I or one of the others will be in and out of here to check.
Cheers,
Jan

@Tommytanker - Gary, if you can get a picture into this threat (if not the gallery) I'll consider it a completion of campaign requirements. If you still have any problems don't feel hesitant to ask. I know that there are some new members that joined this campaign so I'm willing to "stretch" things a bit.
I've received a few PM's from people having posting issues so I will grant them some leeway. This has been my first time leading a campaign so I apologize for not getting everything right. Hopefully next time I will have learnt from my errors. As always, if you have a problem don't feel awkward to ask for help. This is to have fun, after all.
Regards and cheers,
Jan

After my mix up with the dates, here is a final offering, including an attempt to plug another gap...
Morris C8, 17 pdr and Jeep:
SdKfz11, PAK40 and BMW R75. Not really quite finished, but it will do. I'll try to take a better photo maybe, when it's not quite so late at night.
I thought the wrecked building made more sense with a hammer and sickle than with a German eagle, and added some busted up rebar to the concrete.
Finally, as mentioned earlier, my daughter's T34. She made it and painted it herself, but you can see influence of dad's technique - like the toothpaste winter camouflage! She brought down her own paint to do the muddy track mark. The snow is stuff from a craft shop, sold for Christmas decorations.

Hi Chris. I'm intrigued by your technique for painting your cobblestone base. I looked at the finished photos and the stones appear to be varying shades of blended grey, but in this photo they are very distinct shades of white, black brown, yellow, and grey -- no blrnding at all.
Can you please share your technique as I have a cobblestone base I would like to paint and am impressed with yours.
Thnaks.
Brian

Guys
I'm so sorry to let you down - I'm not even primed!!! I hoped to at least have had my first coat of paint on but it's not to be. However I've really enjoyed getting to grips with my first kit - given it's my first I've deliberated a lot on how to go about things and how much to do. Everything I've done - from getting the parts off the sprue onwards has been a learning experience. There have been some setbacks - some self-inflicted, some accidental (I was surprised just how little damage it took when I dropped it onto the bare floor!). To an extent life has got in the way too, very nearly moving house and then losing our buyer at the last minute put a large hole into the campaign timetable!
I've also gained a lot of advice and inspiration from this campaign. I own many of the Revell re-releases and seeing just what can potentially be done with them judging by the excellent submissions here has been eye-opening!
So I'll be sorry not to get the campaign banner - but it's been brilliant!
Thanks everyone!
A

Fellow campaigners, you have all done a phenomenal job and produced some truly outstanding results. With 92 pictures in the official gallery this campaign has ranked way up there as far as contributions are concerned. There are still a few people that do to various issues have not posted a completed build picture either here or in the gallery. I have PMed these individuals to try to get a picture up by this weekend.
When I originally set this campaign up I did not appreciate that we would have a number of new people join. As many of you are aware, this site's picture manipulation processes are not the most intuitive. I based the campaign duration on my mistaken idea that these old kits would just "fly" together. Even many of us more seasoned builders soon found the folly of that premise.
So as it stands right now we have had 25 people out of 42 enlistees complete the campaign requirements for a 59.5% completion rate. That is quite a success for us as average completion rates vary but rarely exceed 40%. If we consider all the multiple builds the rate could be skewed much higher.
@firstcircle - Matthew, I must thank you and all the others that completed multiple builds for your efforts and enthusiasm. It has greatly contributed to the campaigns' success. I must also commend your daughter for joining in the fun with her own build. It's a bit of a shame that I can't award an official ribbon to her but you can tell her that she is the recipient of an honorary Matchbox Nostalgia Campaign ribbon.
Honorary ribbon for firstcircle's daughter.
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan, I know she will be thrilled to achieve that recognition. I think she is intending to take her T34 to school tomorrow for show and tell. Her little sister already took her model in last week, sadly not a qualifier for this campaign as it is a Sukhoi SU-29! Maybe I'll get them properly enrolled next time, as they both already want to build another.
Thanks also so much for running this campaign, probably harder work that you anticipated. That's the first one I've done, and it has been totally addictive, as well as truly nostalgic, with lots of great builds. Shame we didn't quite hit them all (LRDG...?) It also completely diverted me from my Airfix Mk I project . . .
Although I completed my official entry ages ago, if I get some improved pix of the SdKfz11 over the next few days, is it OK for me to sub them in for the existing pic of that or do you want to freeze what's there? It's just that it currently looks like they just rolled it out of the garage, when my intention was for it to be completely covered in dust.

As this was my first time running a campaign you are absolutely correct in assuming that it was quite a bit of work. I have experienced eight prior campaigns and the one failing in a couple was a lack of organization. I also experienced some particularly superbly run campaigns and I used what I learned from them for this one.
I have the Matchbox LRDG partially built but it was at that state prior to this campaign so it didn't qualify. Campaign administration and responsibilities were such that I had little free time for anything but my M40 build.

I have no objections to you replacing pictures in the official gallery if you can. From what I see, when you submit pictures to a campaign gallery they also show up in your personal gallery. If you delete them from your personal gallery I don't know if that affects the ones in the campaign gallery. My guess is that at worst the official gallery will have a few empty frames in it after deletion.

Jan

A tad too late, but it's kind of ready. Taken with my phone's camera... (It actually looks better in life ) The thing is, I moved back to Europe in university housing, I lack all my tools, and paints, so it was done in "nostalgia" mode: tweezers, a blade, some sandpaper and brushes.
Two more years until I can reunite with my airbrush...

Yeah, I got diverted too, actually I'm in a motivational low when it comes to modeling right now so that was a no go on the LRDG... Sorry...
Thanks for leading the campaign Jan, you did great! Looking forward to the feature!

Hello Brian,
I originally found the technique I used on my base on the internet when I was trying to paint a wall.
There is no blending as such - after priming you pick out random individual cobbles/bricks by hand in quite bold colours and then overspray with your desired top coat. The trick is to keep the top coat sufficiently thin to allow the colours beneath to show through slightly and so provide the different shades and tints.
I used Tamiya acrylics Field Grey as the top coat. After that a gloss coat and a Burnt Umber wash, followed by a matt coat and then finally a very light overspray of the whole diorama with Flat Earth.
I'm glad you liked the result, I was quite pleased with the cobbles if not the rest of the base.
Chris

Andras, I am willing to be lenient but the rules do specify that the base must accompany the model. The decals I can forgive/ignore but the base is not optional.

Stefan, as a new campaign leader I can appreciate your situation. There is a lot of "behind the scenes" work that goes into a campaign and yours was just starting as this one was ending. I wish you all the best on your 1/48 campaign. My LHS is rather pathetic when it comes to that scale. Haven't built one in a decade plus or I might have considered joining it. But hey, you never know.
Thanks for the compliment. Sure I'll run into you again with something in the future.
Cheers,
Jan

My first campaign and my first award and what a campaign. With all the great builds here the pressure was really on. I had hoped to do one more kit but I couldn't find one in the area. Thanks to the campaign leader and all the participants for making this so fun and enjoyable. If all campaigns can be this interesting I'll definitely have to try another.

AJ

OK! Running late but managed to get a coat of paint on both the vehicle and base!
Looking back through all of the Matchbox Nostalgia Campaign postings and the gallery . . . just can't believe how good these old kits turned out. Can't think of anything more to say - it's 4:30 AM in the morning and I better get a little sleep now.
Jan, thanks so much for the Campaign! (and the mini extension)

I'm glad you liked the result
Chris, I just checked out your Monty's Caravan and Dingo in the Gallery, and I also reeeaaally like it. Think the finish on both vehicles is great, as well as the base. I wonder if this kit looks like it might have been the most work of all of them in terms of time. There's certainly a whole load of fiddling around to be done, what with that stuff attached to the truck rear, and the barriers and the impromptu map table and the figures, not forgetting the Dingo.

Dear Fellow MNC members,
Just when I think that my responsibilities as campaign leader are over, a new issue seems to raise it's head. As many of you will recall, I suggested that an On Display or other sort of Feature should or could be made to showcase everyone's wonderful builds. I have investigated the process and in its own right it is not a simple undertaking. Normal reviews here on Armorama have a set format and Web based form to assist the reviewer. Features are a totally different process and in their own right are totally manual in preparation.
What I would like to ask is that all successful campaigners (those who received an award ribbon) who have posted in this thread please leave their pictures available to this thread. I have started putting a gallery together but it will take more time than I originally thought.
I will see how things go but I may need the assistance of the successful members of this campaign. During this process we'll try to keep this thread alive so that you all can know the progress to date. I am investigating setting up a separate Web based gallery where you can all upload completed build pictures, including those of you that have completed more than one build. I ask for your patience and understanding during this process.
Thanks,
Jan

I am working on a feature for the Tank Killers campaign. As you said, it looks like a lot of work (at least the first time around).
I decided to add the builder's name and what kit he used onto the photos (the kit only on one photo if there is more than one). I just pulled photos from the gallery but there are some in-progress pictures in the thread which I may also use.

Thank you Gary for commenting and any sharing of your thoughts on this subject. My original desire was to post three pictures from each contributor and merely overlay their callsign on each. Your suggestion of the first picture also carrying the kit name would even in my case be advisable. I have also received a generous offer from one of our members here to assist in this project. He has already one feature under his belt so he might be able to advise us further.
Thanks,
Jan

Thank you Stefan for your offer, consider yourself volunteered. The more of us involved the faster we might get something together.
I threw together this completion list of the kits that were actually built.
I recall Stefan had intended to do the LRDG but couldn't get it finished. We had two tank transporters scheduled to be built but neither made it. I have gone through the gallery and back about eight pages but failed to find a Panzer II. I had thought that someone had done one but apparently not.
Out of 27 possible kits the campaign completed 24 so that isn't too shabby. Would someone like to check the above completion list against what we have in the official campaign gallery?
I've used one of Stefan's submissions to create a prototype of how each image will appear in the Feature. This is not cast in stone and all comments and suggestions are welcome.
In a previous campaign that created a Feature the pictures were displayed in callsign alphabetical order. What would you think of us displaying them in order of their PK-nn number? That is we start with PK-71 (Firefly) and progress along. How about we find the original Matchbox kit box tops and use that as the first image of each section with only the callsign present on actual build pictures?
Just for your knowledge, Armorama suggests a minimal 800 X 600 picture size for features. From looking at pictures in the gallery and in previous pages it seems that most of us were posting at the size or larger.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Jan
