Out of 27 possible kits the campaign completed 24 so that isn't too shabby. Would someone like to check the above completion list against what we have in the official campaign gallery?

Jan -- went to check the gallery today. As of this writing we have 111 pics in it. Kitwise, I've only come up with 22 versus the 24 you mentioned. I believe the discrepancy would be the 251 Hanomag and 232 Radio Car. Have checked the campaign thread -- a couple of 251s have been declared built though not in the gallery; can't seem to find any finished 232 though. Maybe you can do one more round with the guys to check their gallery postings. Hope this helps. Cheers -- Tat

WOW!!! Haven't dropped in for a while and look at all this activity. The builds kept on coming and what superb results. Jan, I can help out a bit if you need with your feature thing. Just ask and I'll see what I can do.

For what it's worth I went through all the posts starting at page six and found out the following:

ChaosXVI - Toby de Castro - Challenger was 90+% built.

Maxiplus - Maximilian Froemter - Sd.Kfz. 251 and Humber built prior to start date as an incentive to the rest of us.

Technocrat - Tim Thorley - Panzer II and Sd.Kfz. 251 built during campaign but no pictures added to gallery. They are in his personal gallery and the date stamps show them having been added during/while the campaign was running. So if he can post them then that just leaves the Diamond 'T', Radio Car and LRDG missing. Oh, and he also did a very nice M7 with British crew and markings.

I finally found an LRDG kit in a sale bin but it was after the 15th of June. With the time it took me to do the Challenger I think that even if I found it earlier I couldn't have completed it. It is an original Matchbox and was only $6.00.

AJ

Tat, how ultimately generous and thoughtful of you to go to all the trouble to provide your own chart. I am humbled by the interaction that I have seen during this campaign.

AJB, thank you for your efforts and offer of help. Your effort and its results are very much appreciated and your and Tat's contributions have already proving most useful.

It may seem like nothing but you two have helped the cause (the feature) immensely. At the very least I intend to attribute due credit in any derivative of this campaign to those that helped in this endeavour.

As it currently stands, I have created an Internet gallery that will be used by any volunteers to help with preparing images. We will likely request that some individuals post an additional picture or two. Picture preparation has already begun but with all the submissions in the gallery it won't occur quickly. I will keep this group informed of the progress.

Thanks for your help and patience.

Cheers,
Jan

I've got a built LRDG on my shelf. I didn't build it for the campaign, but I could post some pictures, if you want them to get one kit closer to completion.

Thank you for the kind offer Mark but we, myself and my collaborators, have decided to limit the feature to kits built during the campaign. After all, it is a feature about the campaign first and Matchbox second. Where we can we will use pictures submitted in the official gallery but we'll also draw some from these pages if they are more suitable.

As I stated earlier in this thread, we may require some people to submit additional pictures. The feature editor asks for at least 800 X 600 resolution and some pictures are short of that. I will either create an Internet gallery where you can upload larger pictures or arrange for an e-mail address to sent the pictures. That way it won't count against anyone's Armorama storage limits.

Cheers,
Jan

No worries Jan, just remember me when we're all in modeller's paradise.

Jokes aside -- I agree with your observation on the level of enthusiasm, participation, and collaboration that has been shown in this campaign (and continue to be evident post-campaign wise). I believe most of us got into this campaign taking it to be an easy build though it proved otherwise. I myself am heartened by the fact that we all got advice, comment/s, and most especially words of encourgement to carry on. Your leadership and the group's go-go-go attitude is much appreciated. Cheers to all!

Just post if there's anything else to be done. Will try to pitch in if I can help.

All the best

And this thread just keeps on truckin.

@Tat - Thanks again for your offer and who knows what might pop up in the near future.

As everyone can imagine there's no quick solution to getting this feature together. With 111 photos in the official gallery and scores of others from extra builds in the campaign thread this has myself and other volunteers hopping. To give you an example, the last campaign that was turned into a feature had but 108 photos. I think that in this area we may be going for some kind of record.

At some point myself or someone may be PMing some people to see about getting some additional pictures. But for the time being I have prepared this chart that indicated who definitely needs to send us more images.

You don't need to put them in the official gallery. If you post them in this thread we will grab them. Once that is done we'll let you know that we have them. Here's the list:

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Jan

One of the things I'm doing to make the work load easier in my feature is to exclude thread photos, except if the builder didn't upload into the campaign gallery. In the text I will have a link to the campaign thread so people have the option of seeing the campaign as it progressed and seeing some of those awesome in-progress photos.

Jan,

I have placed two more photos in the Campaign gallery per your request. You'll notice a color change on the base as I have added a filter wash to give some depth to the details. Slowly making progress on the painting.

I've used one of Stefan's submissions to create a prototype of how each image will appear in the Feature. This is not cast in stone and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Jan

And below is a concept Campaign photo . . . just tossing around an idea? I think it looks somewhat Revellish.

I am keeping my feature's photos as simple as possible (I don't even have the "by" in the text). The problem with doing fancy things is it can become grueling when you have to do it to 80+ images.

@Gary - I guess that I'm kind of lucky as I have a small team of volunteers that are assisting in the project. We are also fortunate in having some fairly sophisticated software that can make some of the more repetitious aspects automated. What the programmes can't do I can write a script in Automator to help out. We've pulled pictures from this thread because in several cases the ones appearing here are larger than the ones people posted in the gallery. I too will direct people to this thread to see all the great in progress stuff.

@Eddy - The Humber looks positively fantastic. I really like all the little added touches you did to it. As for your feature format suggestion, I thank you for your input as it helps the creative wheels turn in different directions. We'll have to experiment and see what can be automated and doable. Some of the images that we have already done don't leave a lot of space for much extras and we don't want to distract from the actual model. Thinking is a large part of this process. And that's why fresh ideas are always appreciated.

Cheers,
Jan

EDIT - Eddy, the chart above has been changed to reflect your added images.

Hi Jan,

Pics that I post on the site are at 640 x 480. Seems big enough for me. Let me know though if I still need to put it up at the minimum 600 x 800.

Thank you, Tat. I will get back to you either here or via PM. We would appreciate larger images and we are working on a way for all to submit them without taking up your Armorama space. If you will give me a day or two I'll let you know what we need and how/where to deposit or send it. We're still working on various details but will keep you and this group informed. Bottom line, we desire for this campaign and it's feature to "ROCK".

Thanks,
Jan

Jan, I have those bigger pictures. Do you want me to place them here or can I send them somewhere? I'd really prefer not to use my Armorama gallery space as I used quite a bit with the Challenger build.

Thanks,
AJ

@AJB - Thanks and I'll get back to you on that. I'm trying to set up a way that those that should repost pictures can do that securely and easily.

@Stephen - If I recall, your pictures were not an issue but I will get back to you on this point. A Feature was not originally part of the campaign plan so at the moment we are a little overwhelmed with the work load and all the positive responses.

We are slogging away at this and I'll keep this group updated. All your builds are too great not to share.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi all.
Haven't looked at the campaign for a while, but very happy to see it has been such a success! If i've read this correctly you need postings of some photos into the message so that you can use them - hope I've got this right.
Anyhow, photos follow.....

The M7 (which was built before the campaign started):

Hope this helps! And thanks for a great opportunity to do some building of these delightful little kits.

Cheers

AJ, Marc and Tim, thank you for your submissions and continued interest.

If anyone who was a member of the campaign and did any other builds of Matchbox kits between Jan. 15/10 and June 15/10 could you please post them in this thread.

As an example, I recall that someone did a Panzer II and showed a picture somewhere in this thread. I and others have been through the posts but with over 600 of them on 21 pages we can't seem to find them.

Edit: I should have looked at Technocrats gallery as he has a Panzer II there.

Tim, could you upload two more pictures of your Panzer II to this thread. If you are concerned about using up your Armorama gallery space I can PM you information on an alternate gallery to upload them.

Thanks,
Jan

Here is the list of the photos that have been selected, edited and captioned, aiming for the best three by each model maker of each kit. Sorry, I can't paste a proper table in here except as an image (and I couldn't be bothered!) so the list is a bit wobbly, but each line represents a photo; there's a couple where there's only two pix, and one with only one. If anyone thinks anything is missing, and can provide or point out further photos of things for which there aren't already three shown below, that would be great. If there are already three showing for a particular kit by an individual model maker then we don't need any more for their build of that kit. (Hope that's clear...
