One more picture-

I will have their radio equipment soon, I got to do some scratch building to get it to work though. I will include pictures of that too.....when I get them done.

Well thats all the troops I got to get done! Total of 3 and 1/2 figures. Good enough to get a ribbon, plus thats probably all I can do in 5 days.lol

I'm going to build the DML 1/35 US Rangers Normandy 1944 Premium Edition. Although knowing my figure painting skills it may not be quite so premium when I have finished.

Hi all!

Signed up for this campaign in the hope that it might prod me to actually paint some of the figures I have bought over the past few years. I have a TANK Soviet tank commander in winter gear that I have assembled and was going to have beside a KV I built - the tank has been done for quite some time, the figure is still sitting there. I also plan on doing some of the Tamiya JGSDF crewmen that came with the Type 90 I am bulding for the "Steel Beasts of the East" campaign on Armorama. I will get some pics posted soon!

Great idea for a campaign!

Hi Jonathon,

You're figures are coming on well. I don't know much about German Troops but you might want to check on the colour of the Uniforms, more a Field Grey (greenish) I believe, but some of the German builders could tell you.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year etc

I will attempt a figure from my spares box, I think its from the Tamiya SU 85.

This will go with the SU 122 I am currently working on.

Cheers

Hey Alan, ya I know....this is my first times using oils for the german uniforms, and Im still trying to get the right ratio. I was thinking the same thing but these will be ways to learn to get the ratio correct.

I'm in. For my troops I'm doing African Irregulars / Militia like these:

I picked this subject to allow (or force) me to paint several different types of civilian and camo uniforms and also to paint the dark skin tones (which I think is going to be hard but I'm hoping it's not). At least it will be colorful - LOL

Now off to research my camo styles.

Indeed een interesting subject, Tom!
I really like the one with the yellow scarf... Allthough yellow is a pain in the lower rear end to paint!!
Thanks for the links, too..

Alan, you are way ahead of us here.
Can you describe how you did the camouflagepattern? It would help others to tackle theirs!

Here is my project. It is two Danish infantrymen in shirtsleeve order late 40’ties –early 50’ties. They take a break from duty smoking a cigarette and are posed around Skip Models’ Austin Utility.

They are pieced together from parts from my spare box and have Hornets heads. A few alterations have been necessary as well as some scratch build additions. But that’s not the interesting point in this project.

@ Sean; You have quite a challenge there, Sean! Keep us posted!
@ Kenneth; Your figures look real good. Nice job on the conversion. It's as important as the paintjob!
@ JP; Sorry, JP. I am doing this campaign specifically for those who have trouble painting figures in 1/48 or 1/35. 20mm is a very different ballgame, as are the larger scales.

Spoken in my best Yoda voice "Before we paint, build we must..." LOL

My first figure (he's loosely based on the guy w/ the orange polo shirt in the 2nd photo of my first post). The top half is a very old Tamiya DAK figure w/ all the detail removed and the bottom is the running figure (in the kind of spastic pose) from the Tamiya Modern US Set. I have an AM resin head for him and an AK.

Much cutting, grinding & gluing later:

Next - Putty Time!

Fair enough. I'm enjoying watching and learning on this thread anyway.
And some of those figures are just wonderfully expressive. Something you
see rarely in 20mm

Started building some figures for a group build on another forum, but did not start painting them until after this campaign started. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures here, I will get them up. Jim
PS. This is my first campaign here.
