It's high time to publish few more "in progress" pictures of my entry.
And here are the figures in the current stage. I have "washed" the guy holding a sign using the artists oil thinned with a terpentine oil - never do that mistake. After almost two months from painting the paint was still wet I even after using the acrylic cover the oil still appears in some places. That's why the figure is still shining in some places. Most of the details were painted using different acrylics: Tamiya, Lifecolor, Pactra, Gunze.

After weeks of threats, here is my final update for. Here are a few pics of the diorama featuring most of the figures I painted for this campaign.
The diorama depicts troops of the 26th 'Yankee' Division crossing a small river before the Rhine with support from an M4A3E2 from the 4th Armored Division in mid-March, 1945. There are more pics in the campaign gallery as well as my own photo gallery
This was a fun campaign with a lot of great entries, and I'm really glad I took part.

Finally got my figures completed. Had to make a wee base for them just to make them stand up.
These are my first "real" attempt at figures and thanks to this campaign for the incentive. Hopy you like them:

Guys....
I am impressed.
When I see how much people have actively participated in this campaign and what great figures have been done...
Superb!
@ Jim; crew turned out good, especially for Tamiya figs.
It might be the pictures, but the paint looks a bit gritty?
Thanks for the kind words, Ron.
Yes, the picture quality is not the best. I even used my "portable photo studio" outside in sunlight to try to get good lighting, but as you say the finish looks gritty (and a little bleached out as well.) In "real life" it is not so. Thanks again, Jim

Aloha All,
There are so many great entries in this campaign!! It is very inspirational.
Ron, Thank you for your kind words. I'd also like to thank you for having this campaign as it's really gotten me past my trepidation of painting figures and I've enjoyed it very much. I look forward to painting more and next I'll try 1/35th and maybe oils for the skin.
Anyway, here are my latest progress shots. Just a bit more and they'll be done.
Thanks for looking,
zon

@ Zon; you are one of the few 1/48-builders! Great figures and the painting looks like done on a larger scale!

The best thing to do is stick 'painting faces' or 'face painting' in the search box at the top of the site and it will bring up a wealth of information. Everyone has different styles & techniques that they prefer. Give it a Google It's just a case of finding one you're comfortable with & go from there.
Regards, Paul

Here is my entry: 100% kitbashed DML figure of a U.S. Navy boarding SEAL. It's not accurate (since I used the UK SAS torso). However, this figure did help me reduce my figure parts stash and that's what matters to me!

Well here is my final post..
I'm very new to figures and not very good at them.. these two are the first that i've really tried to do well and realistly, thought I know I need to work more on the face painting part..
thes are painted with tamiya acrylics, Model Master enamals, pollyscale waterbased acrylics, floquil enamals. some artist oils and I even used some artist watercolors and some pigments for weathering.
It is truely a multimedia event.. .lol
ok here it is..
my other works.
thanks for looking

Aloha All,
Here are the final shots of my entry to the campaign.
To recap: 1/48th scale Tamiya WWII U.S. Infantry at Rest, painted with mostly Vallejo and some Tamiya acrylics. Need to work on face painting a bit more, but overall I think they turned out much better than I anticipated.
Will also post in the Gallery.
Ron, Thanks again for a great campaign!!

Ron -
Thanks much for your organization, guidance, and running a superb Campaign. As others have noted, just bunches of fantastic figures, ideas, and motivation in "Paint Those Troops". Though I only managed to complete my "Hetzer/Ardennes" for the Campaign, I will finish off my Afrika Korp and now have plans for several more projects in near future. Thanks again! "Paint Those Troops II" anyone?

I work in a variety of scales, including 1/35, but for something a little bit different, here are my entries:
1/72 Romans on the March by Strelets, for a small diorama I'm working on. These are done, I've got another dozen or so to go:
25 mm Dixon Vikings. The first metal figures I've ever done. I'm really pleased with how they came out:
And for good measure, Dixon's 25mm prospector with donkey:
All figures were painted using acrylics. Now I just need to learn to take better pictures. Thanks again for running this campaign. I saw lots of great contributions and learned a thing or two about painting figures....
