Yeah, these are cool, Al. Nice work. I like the weathered look on the great coat. Is that just straight up Tamiya buff, or did you add pigments?
As usual I always love seeing all your progress. The Market Garden campaign is where I think I first saw your work- isn't that one slated to end soon, or is it pretty much just extended until you get your Horsa? That makes me think, if it isn't ending soon, I might have to get back on track over there. If you remember, my first little Pak 38 dio didn't exactly cut it (hey it was my first dio ever) and I never figured I had enough time to get serious with a more ambitious plan... hmmm
anyways sorry to ramble, talk to you later. hopefully you should start to see some rays of sunshine soon. I understand the weather in England is a bit like it is here in the pacific northwest. a little more sun everyday- I just gotta figure out how to work less and get more time for modeling!
happy modeling
billy

Hey Billy,
If you want more time for modeling just do what I did, brake your leg, tear the ligaments so bad that you need surgery and that will give you a good 6 months of down time because that's all you can do is sit around. Never knew how much of a stress reducer that modeling is. Very relaxing, I'm like a new person.

Hi Guys,
Another one underway, this time one of the new Resicast Tank Riders. Still a bit of work to do but you'll get the idea.

Hi,
Bit delayed in gettin the paints out due to work & family stuff, but here's the story so far.
The single colour base coat put on.
High/low lights & base coat done on the rifles I haven't done the deepest shadows yet & I may re-do the highlights as I don't think they're quite light enough? Also made a couple of school boy errors but will touch those up later on.
The other figures are looking good, can't wait to see the finished results.
Cheers, Paul

Okay, I've managed to get some old projects completed and out of the way. I've just completed basic assembly of the figures so far - US Rangers Normandy 1944 Premium Edition (DML 6306).

Nice work guys.
Hi Pav,
If this is the first 4 of 12, things are certainly looking up.

Well, Baseball season is here and with running a League and coaching 2 teams my 'free' time is limited. Still working on the Afrika Korp figures to go with my Tamiya PzKpfw III, but noticed how bare (without figures) this Hetzer is so plan on trying to get some Dragon Panzergrenadiers and/or Volksgrenadiers to go with it.

OK. Since the SdKfz crew was flawed, I moved on to Trumpeter's Karl Morser Crew. I had built the gun some months ago and decided to add a crew. I may do some refining on the faces of the figures, but for all intents and purposes they are finished.

Finally gotten around to posting up my contribution to the campaign. Scale is roughly 1/48th (28mm heroic I believe is the exact scale) - some GW Tallarn Desert Raiders.
I'm a reluctant figure painter (aren't we all?) which is tough given I'm an avid wargamer. I prefer painting armour. Painted 23 of these for my British 23rd Armoured themed tank army. Was about 3 solid days worth of work.

Some excellent figures in this tread. Really high level in true Armorama style
Really great work on those British troops, Jessie
Nice to see some old school GW, Steve. I like your choice of colours.
I have moved on a little with my SS panzer crew. The camouflage is on. The colours will be darker after a few washes, so I started with the light tones. Next is the skin areas.
Comments welcome

I have now finished my SS panzer crew. Now I only need to paint the tank
Comments welcome - I will gladly receive them any suggestions on improvements.

Well I guess this is as good a way as any to introduce myself to the site. My name is James Brewerton and I have returned resently to MM after decades away wargaming and figure painting.
I resently finished these PMC guys which have been put on a great north road base
but for this campaign I am painting 4 german 1/35 dragon figures so I can practice camo painting. Below is my first attempt ignore the huge eyes I am having issues with painting eyes ATM but let me know how the pea dot has come out I will be adding shade later.
Anyway that all for now See Ya James

Here are my first in-progress photos of the 1/35 Esci-Ertl German assault engineers with Goliath that I am building for this campaign.
As you can see I did the basic construction on the figures and then I primed them. I built the Goliath and got the base coat of paint on it. I have also started the vignette base. The base is a peanut butter jar lid. I have used them for my other little vignettes and I like the way they look.
I should have more to follow soon.
Thanks,
HARV

Will this do for entry to this campaign? Seriously, all these figures will eventually have a home. There are still more in the construction phase and some in the beginning of the painting phase.

Hi Peter,
Sorry No, not enought there
Seriously though a good collection of troops you have there, nice work.
These chaps could join in to: The Resicast Tank Riders and wounded soldier
Got another 9 tank riders on the go but they might not get finished in time. This time the OOP Cromwell set.
