As for me, I am just glad I finished my entries and dio in time. I have hit a serious low in my modellingdays. Haven't touched on in 6 or 7 weeks. Didn't read anything either and even the Twenotshow at the Overloonmuseum with running material didn't change that!!
Ron I have a cured for that. Drink a bottle of Jack Danials, Sleep naked on the neighbors front lawn, then have the wife stay home from work with you to recuperate (nag you) from your hangover. By the end of the day you will want to escape to your workbench. Cheers

It's been fun. We all get lows now and again. sometimes it's hard to get motivated. I'm aboout figured out at the moment, but have soem armour on the go. I tend to hop form thing to thing to keep the interest going.
Takes awhile to finish things though lol, lol.
Cheers

It's been a while since I've posted anything for this forum, so here's an update. I should have the diorama for the majority of my figures done in a week or two. In the process, I found some empty space, so I decided to fill it with these two guys.
The face down figure is a converted Tamiya Figure, whereas the one on his back is a converted DML figure.
I'll be sure to post pics of the finished diorama as soon as its ready.

@ Randy; great progress on those figures. I have them myself with the SWS-kit from Otaleri and I was not impressed by their overall quality. You make them look good.
Thank you for the kind comments Ron. They are definitely not the best quality figures out there but I guess they are good enough for me with my lack of figure painting skills. One of these days I hope to be able to move up to some nicer figure sets.
I have been able to get some work done on them the past couple of nights. I have been painting the piping on the epaulets and on the officer's cap and other small details. I have learned that I shouldn't drink so much Coca-Cola before I try detail painting!!
I should have another in-progress photo to show soon.
Thanks again,
HARV

Tom, The troops and dio look good, Are those troops Marines? If so as it was pointed out to me in the Pacific Campaign, the Marines did not have a star on their vehicles. I spent an entire morning doing internet research which included several hours of YouTube video footage of the Pacific. The Army LVT's had the star the Marinas did not. just a little FYI but I think it still looks good.

I'm Making the PAK 38 for the Tank Killers Campaign. I'd never paint the troops, then I see this campaign. Fantastic!

Looking good Marcin. Gotta love cats... Got two of them myself... But so far the only cat hair on my models was whiskers for antennaes.
How are you doing that. I have two cats too and it's impossible to get rid of hair. They love to sleep on my modelling chair (often when I'm sitting on it) but luckly they do not get on my desk (at least not often).
Well, not letting them into the cave helps...
Easy to say for me, I have mine in the basement and the cats stay inside the apartment.
Cheers!

Hi folks,
New to Armorama, first campaign! Hopefully this photo has come through ok!
I had a bit of a disaster using enamel paints. I put a coat of 50% enamel matt clear and 50% enamel khaki to tone down the camo on the combat jacket. I let it cure for a day but it turned out very shiny. I decided to then put a coat of 100% enamel matt clear in an effort to take away the shine, then this happens:
100% matt clear reacted with the other coats and the whole thing turned white. I tried to get rid of it with thinners but the white (oxidisation?) kept coming through.
Any ideas what the hell happened?
Thanks,
Eoin

Here are my third in-progress photos of the 1/35 Esci-Ertl German assault engineers with Goliath that I am building for this campaign.
Getting close to finishing up but I still have some work to do but I thought I would show everyone where I am at so far.
Thanks,
HARV

Excellent work folks, some cracking figures there. Still a month to go, might get a few more done.

Hi folks,
Apologies, trying to put that dang photo up!
I'd appreciate any advice as to a) what I did wrong and b)how to prevent it happening again (apart from the obvious 'use acrylics' answer.
Thanks,
Eoin

Eoin,
try something like photobucket.com or imageshack. Works really well.
How to get pictures from the gallery to show up here, I don't quite know.

Fixed it, sort of. I used a link to the actual photo instead of to the thumbnail.
To do that, when you click on the picture in the gallery, instead of using the "Linked Thumbnail", click on the icon to the right of it. A box appears with the HTML for the image. When you paste it into your img BB code, you have to remove all everything except the URL itself (save everything from http to .jpg).

Morning folks,
Well these will probably be my last effort for the campaign. The Sovereign British 2pdr Gun Crew, a simple 3 figure set., figures are washe3d and undercoated, so painting can begin

Well I am going to call my 1/35 Esci-Ertl German assault engineers with Goliath project finished.
Sorry for the poor quality photos.
My figures are definitely not the best and they could use some more work. However I am learning as I go and I was fairly pleased with the way they turned out. I still have a lot to learn but I guess that will come with practice.
I built everything straight out of the box with the exception of the tissue paper weapon slings, the helmet decals from Tamiya and the decals on the Goliath which came from my spares. I added a control wire to the remote control box and the Goliath. It isn't scale but I figured it would show up better if it was a little too big. Other than that I guess that is all.
Thank you for the campaign Ron.

Hi Guys,
Some neat work going on here folks, excellent stuff.#
Here's some progress on the Sovereign 2pdr crew, I was thinking of making them a Vickers MG Crew. I have altered the commanders left arm. Some nasty seems on these guys.
Bit more work yet.

@Randy; Vignette looks good. These cheap figures are ideal for paintingpractice!
@Alan; I don't comment on your figures anymore, Alan. I would bore you with it!
I must say that these Africanbased Brits look good... as usual!
@Mike; The Germans and their camouflage look ver good, Mike. Personally I would do more work on the diobase, because it doesn't match the high level of painting of the figures. If I may give you some tips; look at the road. It doesn't really look like a muddy road, but more like a smeared on piece of plaster with paint on it. The surface should be smoother with tire- of trackmarks/tracks in it. Also the grass looks too stiff. You could make a shortcut in fixing this by adding a layer of snow.
The trees look good on the other hand!
@ Brett; Amazing painting, Brett! You'd hardly recognise these figures as Tamiyapieces. Very well done!
