Does anyone know a good way to produce 40+ "footman's loops" in 1/35. I have the Eduard set for my Duster and need a way to bend them.
And a way to do a concave disk would be nice. The spare barrels are protected by one each at the front. Round/flat I could do with evergreen but those are concave and to big to "just do round"
MBR: I don't know about the footman's loops, but for the concave disks, you could get some "googlie eyes" from a craft store. These are small "eyes" made of a clear dome with a black disk inside all on an adhesive back. Cut a circle out of the dome and you get a concave disk. HTH.

Rob: very nice flak piece. The weathering is outstanding and the cammo net looks great.
Tom: looking forward to more on the wirbelwind.

Hey folks,
I think I'm about finished with the Gepard. I toned down the mud a tad, but I think my aerials are a bit too long...
@ Rob- really impressed with the weathering on the Opel/Flak 38. I saw a Flak 38 up close and personal at a recent military vehicles show and yours looks dead on.

Thanks for the compliment Eoin.
I like your model too. I built this one a very long time ago, so it's nostalgic for me. Since then I switched to WWII models.
If I may make a suggestion. It looks like you used the Tamiya mud stick. This can't get inside the wheels where most of the mud would be. Put some on a toothpick or something alike and rub it on the inside of the wheels. Also the mud on the mudgards s a bit even. I think it would look bettter in a uneven pattern. Mud splashes.

Hi folks,
@ Rob- thanks for your comments. Taking a step back, the mud does look fairly even. I'll have a go at making the splashes more random.
@ MBR- My knowledge of the electronics inside the Gepard is fairly limited. My Gepard would be an early version model but I tried to modernise it up with the flecktern pattern to bring it more up to date. I decided to paint the internal electronic units offwhite to contrast with the external scheme.
Thanks for the comments!

Ah sorry, the two linked articles give the antenna length for the two common systems since you said "not sure about antenna length". The transfer falls in the "bland to flecktarn" period so you can decide what antenna to use. The radios are actually in the turret, not the electronics bay and painted "gelb-oliv"

Hi guys,
Here's my Mobelwagen WIP, I still need to do a lot on this one... hope to finish it on time.

MBR: hopefully that works for you.
Eion: I don't know if the antenna length is correct, but I think they look good in the photo. Kind of gives it a mean look.
John: Looks good. I'm stressing on finishing too. I still need a few coats of paint to get the missiles good and white and I'm away for 2 1/2 weeks.

It's been 3 weeks since I touched the Mobelwagen, still waiting to do the basket on the side of the turret and then prime the "furniture wagon" and let the paint begin...
I found out recently (last week) that there are 2 Mobelwagens from Tamyia, one with the 3.7 Flak gun and another with the 2cm 4x Flak.

True. The 2cm Flak vierling is an older kit from Tamiya, but still a nice one.

Ok, I am in with my Tankmania 1/35 SA-4. I am going to use this campaign to help me finish the beastie up...I hate how it mocks me from it's box. The short time frame shoudl help "encourage" me to get it done.

About that SU-100....well.....not yet. It had a accident. Sudden impact with the floor. Needs to just have the weathering touched up on the tracks...I will eventually get to it.
But I thought I would share in progress on the SA-4:

John: I always liked those Mobelwagens, hope you have a chance to get it finished!
Jacques: That SA-4 already looks intimidating! How are the delicate parts to work with, any problems with them breaking?

The SA-4 is a FABULOUS kit. The resin used is a very nice light tan with some give to it...it is not nearly as brittle as many other resin kits and takes cutting and sanding well. And it is forgiving when dry fitting and you crank a long, thin piece a bit to see where it should go...many times I have had other kits piece snap off.
Detail wise, it is a VERY good kit as well. It is not perfect, but when something (anything) else comes along, I will tell you. In regards to the SA-4, I never thought I would be able to get a kit of it in 1/35, so I may be a bit over-pleased with the kit.
Build wise, it is very well engineered and goes together VERY well. One of the best resin kits I have ever built, with well thought out pour plugs and detail layout to minimize screwups by the builder.
As you may guess, I like the kit.
No pics, but I did add some more hull details. Even though the hull is grey primered, i only did that to check the upper/lower hull seam when I glued it together. Still a ways to go.
The missiles are good, and their build is finished, but the paint scheme and decals will take a bit of work. I just primed them in flat black and sprayed on some MM rattle-can metalizer...burnt aluminum I think. Now to "modulate" the metal and give it the slight bluish tint I have seen on some of the natural metal finish missiles. Work work work.

Terrific work on that SA-4 Jacques !!!!
The chassis is based on which tracked vehicle ? MTLB ? BMP's ?
Looks great so far !!
Hi Jeremy !
I will have it finished soon I hope.
So far it already got the Dark yellow base coats, the camo strokes (green % brown).
The wheels are finished too.
I still have to work on the equipment and tracks.
I also finished the flak basket, I will prime the flak this week and hope to get the first coats of dark yellow by the weekend...

That's it, it's finished.
After this photos were taken the flak basket fell...great...
Anyway it was a Tamyia kit, with a LionRoar Gun barrel, the egg/potato basket is from Verlinden.
It was painted with Tamyia, Humbrol and Lifecolour paints, finished with Mig washes, filters and some pigments.
A great Campaign subject , I wish I could have joined earlier have a go with a Trumpeter Sdkfz8 flak... next time maybe !

Thanks Sal,
Yes the camo was done with brushes (different sizes), since it was applied by the crew I figured that it could do the trick..
The colours I used a Black Green RLM 70 from a Luftwaffe Colour set from Life colour and a Tamyia Red Brown XF-64.
I used a Metal Cote Humbrol 27004 for the gun barrel.
Different filters and washes were used too.
@Zontar:
ehehe...throwing eggs or vegetables can damage the troop morale...
