Harv, I know my way around those big jars of animal crackers! I wish I had been keeping the lids, though!
Once I finish up my 1/48 Scale campaign entry, I'll be starting on this campaign. I've decided to build one of the four M3 75mm GMCs used by the Rangers during the Salerno invasion. I'm thinking I'll show the GMC on it's way from Maiori to the Chiunzi Pass. One of the biggest challenges for me will be scratch building the large stowage bin on the back of the halftrack.

Well here is my project for the campaign.
Dragon #6287 88m Flak 37. This is going to be an OOB build. I want to focus on improving my painting and weathering skills at the moment and this kit is so good I can see no need breaking out any AM.
It will be from the Herman Goring division on Sicily. I have the Visual History book for the 88 and the Herman Goring book from the Campaign Series.
Have done my research, read the instructions many times and will be cracking into this tonight!

I wanted to take photo of what I will build but I don't find my camera. I can promise there will be all these kits in my dio:
Tamiya Germans soldiers with bicycles
Tamiya sand bags and jerry cans sets
Italeri flak 38
Verlinden german radio set
JBmodels metal barrel for flak 38
JBmodels 20 mm ammo and ammo boxes for flak 38
JBmodels german bicycle pe set (for Tamiya)
all in 1:35
And I have a question: Whit the PE set for bicycles, do they give upgrade for one or two bicycles because they don't write it on the poduct's page on the site. Sorry for the english, i'm talking French normally and i'm 13 years old
Thank

This is my start of my creation of the Smer CR. 42 kit as a NSGR 9 aircraft as you can see Smer believes fewer the parts the better.

Hi All,
I've finally got round to thinking about this campaign, and as there seems to be loads of Axis stuff being built I thought I might go for a nice Canadian Universal Carrier (this of course is subject to change as I may see something at this weekends SMW and change my mind). I'll let you know after the weekend...

Ok! guys an elementry school question here. I have (3) kits: all Tamiya.
M3 Lee
M3 Grant
M13 40
were any of these use in Italy and could anyone help with the paint/camo scheme or were they discarded by that time and if so I will find something else for the campaign. I am having way too much fun to quit now.

Bob, I can't answer the question, but I'm glad to see you having fun
Here is a progress update on my SdKfz 7/1
Finished up the most of the built and just shot it with some primer. I'll get to work on some of the figures while it dries.

Hello Bob,
I have 1 very poor photo showing some M3 Lee's/Grants being loaded onto a LST for the invastion of Siciliy,
We have 6'' to a foot of snow wih black ice now and I cannot get to any of my books till friday at the earlist.
Unless someone proves me wrong, I would say they are OK for the campaign.
Cheers,
Bruce

Well, I miss snow do not trouble yourself with any books at the moment Bruce but thanks for the help. I went with the M3 scout car a much faster build, now to find some camo schemes to finish off.

The photo is pretty dark, but I thought I'd post one of the sprues before I start removing parts.

Michael, I will trade work benches with you. Yours is so clean and well organized (key word organized) will wait for future photos to see the transfermaion of your work aera
. Is that an M3 if so then I will be watching intently especially the camo (my build is a Zvezda M3 scout car). Happy building Michael.

Hi Guys, Here is where I'm at the majority of the built is complete and all 8 figures that come with the kit are complete as well
looks like I may have the same problem with the gap between the engine cover and the frame but might not be as bad
6 of the figures sitting in the back were all the same so i looked through the spare parts box and came up with some new arms so no 2 are the same now. Were the Luftwaffe Uniforms the same field gray as the army?

Sal, that must have been one big limo back in the day. Nice work so far, how many parts does this kit have?

Hi all,
Just finished off my contribution to the Sherman Campaign, so now I have a bit of space and time to start this one. The plan is to turn this lot
into something that looks this this
Well that's the plan anyway.
Cheers
David

yeah gives new meaning to the saying "pimp my ride". It is an old Tamyia kit from the early 70's and has about 200 pieces including the figures. If you are looking for 1 i have this version available for $15.00
Several of the spruces were the same.
@ Dave, seams like a good plan.

A little work done on my M3.
1.the engine area.
2. I like the muffler, but I wonder if they lastted very long in combat.
3. the kit .5 cals are not bad.
4. replaced the kit hand holds because the carpet monster ate them.
5. my nightmare (how to paint, install, and make it look halfway desent)

Bob - Ha! Some people might refer to my need for organization as a sickness! My modeling room is the only room in the house that I "control" so I try to keep it as organized as possible. It does have a tendency to get a bit untidy during a build, though. I'm building an M3 75mm GMC, but from what I can tell, the four GMCs attached to the Rangers were OD with no camo. Great start on your scout car!
Sal - Nice SdKfz 7/1! It'll take a lot of paint to cover that bus!
David - Can't wait to watch your Staghound build! It's one of my favorites! Your Sherman Bolster for the Sherman Campaign is a beauty!

@ Michael : organization? what is that, a new weapon
Your work area does make me get the urge to attempt a cleanup of mine, but my brother would lock me up in an assylumn
