Here is my progress so far. The kit is all built and primed should be able to get some color on it later this afternoon
Put 3 different fight arms on the guy on the right before I settled on the 1 he has.

Well here is the scene I want to create and some of the items I plan on using.
I finally had to get a model railroad cat to represent the kitten. I couldn't find one anywhere in 1/35 scale. I am going to have to do some scratch work on the figure to get him in the same pose as soldier in the picture. Should be fun anyway. The blue item is a peanut butter jar lid I am going to use for the base.
Thanks,
HARV

Hi Guys,
I chopped off that right arm yesterday and found a better 1 still not to happy about it but it looks better.
Question for you guys, Does anybody know what that black band around the guys helmets in my photo is A friend suggested that it was an elastic band that was used to attached sticks and twigs. does anybody know if he is correct.

Howdy all My name is Scott. Just jumped on the forums and saw this campaign and I had to join. I almost exclusively do my builds from an "inspiration" photograph.
Here's my most recent project; The photo ....
... and the finished model ...
Since taking these pictures, I have added all the rubble, etc to "dirty" up the room. It will be going to a show this weekend. Hopefully, it will do well.
But, for this build ... here's what I'm working on ...
This will be built w/ Trump's 1/35 CH-47D Chinook. Figure will be from Trump, CMK, Evolution, and MIG. Base/ building will be scratched.
Only question I have now is ... would it be ok to use this same build for another campaign that's going on right now?
Let me know what you guys think ...

Impressive dio with figures, Scott! Very close to original
And about your plans - WOW! You will need to rig that Chinook on a heavy steel rod to keep it in place

Scott,
Outstanding dio you have there, what scale is it? Looking froward to seeing the next one. What scale will that be?

I have seen this picture and it always ammazed me how agile the Chinook is. The pilots can throw these lumbering giants around the air and yet, like this pic can land almost on a dime.
Looking forward to seeing how you pull this dio off.

Normally, no. There are exceptions. You could do the figures for the "Paint Those Troops" campaign (a lot of us don't usually paint figures and that's what that campaign encourages). You might want to check with whatever other campaign you want to enlist with this build.
Awesome sniper build.

Thanks for the comments ...
I thought long and hard about how I was going to keep this thing airborne. My final solution was to build a breass frame inside of the A/C that will extend out, exiting close to the rear gear, go down into the base.
I've already started on this piece, but I'll have to post pictures later on. I'm packing and getting ready to travel in the morning.
Thanks again for the kind words ....

Thanks for explaining that Gary. I think I know what to do now ....
Hey Sal ... sorry if I missed your question. It's all going to be 1/35. Yep ... that's right, your math isn't wrong. Tip to tail, this thing will be about 36" (3 feet) long by about 12-14" wide. The fuse itself is bigger then my running shoe!

Hi Guys,
Scott that's gonna be 1 big bird your building there Looking foward to seeing that 1
I think this is finished but for some reason I feel like it is missing something This has me stumped guys let me know.
Couldn't tell what equipment they had so I took the liberty of equipping them with the standard stuff
I Know the tires are different but I used the ones that came with the kit. Please let me know whats missing.

Hi Guys,
Have been looking at this little dio and the photos for the past few days and still can't figure out what more to do to it. So I uploaded a photo in the gallery and called it finished. Shermans start tomorrow and that will be my next build.
Tim this was a great campaign. I now find myself looking through photos to get some ideas for all my future builds and campaigns
By the way anybody have a photo of a Sherman named Calabrao or 50, from the 6th Armored Division, winter 1944/45

Count me in gentlemen! I love the research and historical aspect of our hobby the most so there is no way I can skip this campaign. I'll let you know what I'm going to do as soon as I decide.

Congrats Sal, I think you're the first one to finish in such a short time!
Am still laboring on my Cologne Panther build. Got around to removing the rubber from the roadwheels, cutting the suspension arms and re-positioning to have the collapsed suspension look, and get the wheels on level. Am happy to get over this first major challenge.
I guess the build should be fairly eneventful from hereon. Next major one would be the burnt finish -- still a long way to go.
Cheers,
Tat

Very nice start on the Panther Tat.
Tim is it too late to join in on this campaign?? I just start a model on the 6th so it's probably too late for that one. It's already posted here on the forums,in the Soviet forum.
If I can still enter, than I'll go with this pic.

Thanks Rob -- glad to see you're on this campaign as well. Been following your builds, or should I say wrecks? Awesome finishes. Have your site bookmarked, and will surely head that way come paint time. Cheers and good luck on your project. Tat

When I came across this one I found my motive. The idea of this two vehicles standing peacefully side by side was something unthinkabel for the first two decades of my life and well worth a build.
