Sorry, no match, but a very generous offer.
No problem Sean. I am always happy to help out a fellow modeler.

Here are a couple of in-progress photos of my project.
I still have a lot to do but I figured I would show you where I am at with it.
Thanks for looking.

Shaped my guys to poses in the photo. Lots of cutting and turning limbs. The facial expressions are fine as is-- I wouldn't try to change them anyway. Need sunglasses and MP armbands yet.
Still going.

Hey everyone
I'm going to jump in on this and give it a shot. My project is an abandoned panther from the 9th pz division shortly after the battle of the bulge, as seen in the Panzerwrecks book :
The figure should be an interesting challenge. I haven't quite come across an equivilent to his head gear yet...
thanks Peter

Cool, Peter. The more the merrier.
That GI seems to be wearing a heavy winter helmet-liner without the helmet-- being in the armored, he probably doesn't keep his helmet handy. I don't have any help to offer where to find it though.
Also, I see some forum talk of a winter campaign coming up too-- hope you have more photos like that, and keep going.
Excellent subject.

Here is another in-progress photo of my project.
I finished up the detail painting on everything. I finally sat down and painted all of the cobblestones. I added a strap to the map case and to the rifle. I also got the decals added. I just need to dull-cote everything so it isn't so shiny looking. After that I will get everything weathered.
Getting closer to being done but I still have some work to do.
Thanks for looking.

Randy,
Your project came out really good, I like it. I know its a peanut butter jar lid but what did you make the the cobble stone road way out of?
Nice job

Thank you very much for the kid words Sal, I appreciate them.
The cobblestones are Tamiya brick wall pieces. I just glue together enough to make the basic shape. When the glue has dried I cut and sand the pieces to shape and then sand the whole surface down a little. Then I glue it to my base and then build up the edge with drywall mud. I then paint it a sand color for a base color to get the sand color between the stones and then I just use a bunch of different earth tone colors for the stones. It takes awhile to paint each stone individually but I think the end result turns out pretty decent. I did the same thing for my MP campaign entry. You can see it in my photos.
Thanks again for the comments.

Hi Holger. Just go to the top of the page and click on the CAMPAIGNS icon and then go to the "Modeling a Photograph" campaign on the right of the screen and click on it. On the right you will see the list of names of those that have enlisted. Above that box is an ENLIST icon. Just click on that and you will be enlisted.
Hope that helps.

I want to make a small vignette of this picture. This should be a lot of fun and give me some experience in building my first diorama.

Here's where I'm at so far with my abandoned Panther project.
I've gotten the diorama base going, the preliminary paint down, and have to work on the details and whitewash.

The mutt is done, but the figures are yet to follow-- still overthinking the shading and face painting and sunglasses. The antenna will be applied last, and I just replaced the plastic molded gunsight with one I formed from very thin wire from some small-gauge stranded wire.

Unfortunatelly, I have to resign from this campaign as there are no chances for me to finish in time. I will pursue my KV-2 and Bison I project separately. Best luck to all.

Well its been a while since I last stopped in to check things out . . .
@ Harv - Excellent job! You've captured the photo in 3D. You have one heck of a mini masterpiece in your collection. You could place a copy of the photograph in the background next to your build for displaying at home for example.
@ madmax5510 - Great start on your project. I really like the camouflage on that KT, it looks so good. The Bergetiger looks good too! Oh! Look at all those figures . . . you've got a lot of work on your hands. Waiting to see this one completed.
@ curseoftheundead - Nice progress on your abandoned Panther and ground work. Coming along nicely.
@ windysean - That jeep sure turned out great! So did your figures, and they're wearing shades . . . way to cool!!! You even captured the angle of the sun just like in the photograph. Yesss.

Hi all,
There is some great stuff going on here! (I especially like that Porsche-turret King Tiger, Dani!)
I signed up ages ago with the intention of doing an M36 pictured at a junction in Metz, but having left it late it would be too much work given all the figures it needs. So, instead I plan to model an M4 Sherman seen being loaded onto a LST for D-Day. A pic can be seen here
H-2 "Hurricane".
I had planned to use a Tamiya kit, but will now use an Italeri Sherman combined with Tasca upper hull & turret from the Sherman III kit, as well as Dragon bogies and other do-dads. I just hope I can get it done by 6 Feb...
