this is looking awesome with the 'canvas' work . You're really putting some detail realism into this which is cool .

try adding a few drops of dish soap to your acrylic wash mix formula . This helps with the flow

@Rick - really nice one! Please upload the pictures to official gallery - it makes everything much easier for me when it comes to award ceremony

As for my progress: I've finally started my project (and still have few months to finish it ) It is BR52 - German WWII choo-choo . I'm building 1/35 Trumpeter kit OOB.
Here it is: step by step.
















Enough for today... as you can see there is a lot of tiny parts, several long and big parts and a lot of preparations for each step. Unfortunately parts are not perfect and almost all of them require bigger or smaller corrections and cleaning.
I decided to be less strict than I've been while building K5 Leopold - I lost a lot of time to clean and prepare parts that were not or only partially visible after final assembly.
I hope to add some more after the weekend.

Hi guys,

I finally startedon my P-40 Longtrack. It is of the typical Panzershop quality which is not that great. After much work I managed to attach the suspension arms to the hull. The wheels were terribly cast so they are now covered in lots of putty. The bottom plate that supports the big "box" was too narrow and I had to cut it in half. The "box" itself had some problems as a result of shifted mold parts. This going to be a fun project

Hand-painted the red crosses:

sketched the outline in pencil on the small side ones, and with celophane tape on the roof. I was nervous about the tape being too tacky or not coming up, so I quickly painted the outline and lifted the tape, returning later to fill in.

Worked out fine-- it wasn't a problem.
So.....
Here's the final product! (4 larger photos in my Flickr account and 2 smaller ones posted in the gallery, where I'm running out of room. )

I've been watching some great stuff going on here, and it's time to tip my hand. I've just spent the past few hours throwing together Tamiya's 1:35 Citroen 11CV staff car for my entry. (I'll grab some pics of the sub-assemblies tomorrow when the sun is up.) I'm going to give it an attractive 2-tone blue civilian scheme, but with its elite German driver who prides himself on the shiniest staff car in Occupied France! It'll be a delicate ballet of painting, masking, and assembling components.

Sean, great work! I would not decide to paint the cross with brush, I'd rather use airbrush on these canvas... BTW: masking these was not easy, was it?

My BR52 is starting to look like a locomotive... It just difficult for me to prepare the pictures... The more time I put into modeling the less time is left for website...

Thanks - I just needed to "clear my head" with a quick build! I'm not sure how long these have been out - maybe a couple of years? I got mine as a gift just over a year ago.

Andrzej, thanks much. You're right on all counts. I still don't have an airbrush or spraybooth, so I paint by hand when I can, and the rest is spray paint. That's the reason I went with a hard edge on my camo too. (The prototype was applied either way-- brush or spray.) And you're reading my mind about the masking-- keeping it halfway straight on an uneven surface is frustrating! My shame in this build is that the red cross turned out NOT symmetrical-- very obvious from a top view, so none of my photos are from above.
Good luck with your big old locomotive! I've seen your previous work though, and it's going to be quite a showpiece when it's done!

Sean, I know the problem of symmetrical crosses - I had to deal with it while painting German medic, Hospitaller and Teutonic footman... Dont worry, it is almost not visible unless you look frome exactly above the vehicle.
Oh, and thanks for kind words! I had quite a break since last vehicle (I painted moslty figures lately).

Finished up this badboy, overall pleased with the results. Was a nice break in my more modern preference.

Very nice build, Lucas. A very clean build, but since it is a not-fighting vehicle I guess it could be kept very clean in the rear areas.
Nice touch with the load and the spilled fuel.

A lot of people seem to use photobucket but I would think flickr and picassa would also work. All you need from whatever photo site you use is the URL of the picture.

I use the KitMaker gallery. Normal users have a limit to how much they can upload. Becoming a paying subscriber gets you more gallery space.

In my tutorial for campaigns, I give examples of how to upload to the KitMaker site and how to include an image into a post.

I was worried when I got near my Kitmaker limit, because I was using too large photos. I see from their ads that you get a limited amount more for the monthly rate of a Starbucks coffee (I'm guessing 60 US$ per year). I have been deleting my older photos and posting only campaign final photos there.
For progress photos I've started using Flickr. It's free for the first 200 photos, regardless of size. You can set copyright permissions and viewing ability and organize them different ways. I'm near my 200 so I'll pay their annual 25 US$ for unlimited photos.
To post from Flickr to here, there's a "Share" tab, then pick "get bb code", set the photo size, and copy what's in the box into the kitmaker post.
At least that's how I do it.

Finished the Dragon 1/35 Sd Kfz 7. Great kit. Needs a little more work to give it that lived in look, but I am satisfied with it.
