John and Paul, what is "Michael Bentine's Potty Time" ...
This is way, way, way off topic, but it's fun so what the hey! Potty time was a kids TV show that often used funny little models and animated dioramas. Michael Bentine was one of the famous 'Goons', so as you'd expect his humour was pretty crazy. Try this link... (I haven't watched the whole thing cos I'm at work, hopefully it's still PC by 21st century standards)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS0rQ6FQ4E4
I'd love the idea of a 'Homage to Michael Bentine' campaign, but I think it would just be too off-beat (the campaign ribbon criteria alone might get pretty crazy - "diorama must include animated explosions").
Anyway, enough of hi-jacking the campaign, hope you enjoy the clip, and for any who might disapprove of the off topic posting, I humbly apologise.
Erhan, this isn't a criticism of the Panther, more a question. The paint finish looks slightly reflective in the photo (a slightly 'satin' sheen). Is this just a result of flash photography, or is it the finish on the model? If so, I must admit that I wouldn't know whether the finish should be completely matte anyway (though I kind of get the feeling that battle weary equipment tends to look pretty drab and flat). I also guess that you could argue that the original subject would look more reflective if it was wet from rain. As I say, this is just a general question, and I wouldn't suggest you worry about flattening the finish (and potentially obscuring the weathering effects). Leave it as it is, it looks great!
Back on the home front my Leopard is progressing. I just need to weather the lower hull, wheels and tracks, join upper and lower hulls together, complete the detail painting and then a few final washes/filters to tie everything together. After that it's back to the Faun transporter and PzH 2000 with renewed confidence after achieving what I think are acceptable results on the Leopard.
Cheers,
John

Just a quick note (during a small break in what's turned out to be a very busy trip to the land of Erhan) to praise everyone's work, offer encouragement, and help push this thread to 40 pages!
Amazing work all! Fantastic paintjobs done both with bristles and air. Unbelievable detail jobs. Replacement of a gun barrel and gas tube in this scale!? That boggles the mind! And, as said so many times before, too much fine work being done to comment on each.
The end of the campaign draws nigh, but there is still plenty of time left to finish a kit, or two.
'til next time,
Keith

I think this has to be the best campaign or group build I have ever participated in.
I have never made two models for a campaign either and even got that achieved through a very manic six months family and work wise.
Excellent work to all involved and particularly Jan who kept herd on us all.

What a fantastic paint scheme and one I really should attempt one day.
I have several kits in my stash which have similar schemes to the one you have built.

@Erhan - Firstly, congratulations on your first completion. The chart is changed to reflect that it is in the gallery. Second, and this applies to everyone, any suggestion of another campaign should at least wait until this one is over.
@Keith W. - I appreciate your enthusiasm for supporting this campaign and I have no doubt that 40 pages will be reached. If the last campaign was any indication, there is going to be a lot of activity in the last week or so. The members here have absolutely no sympathy for their poor, bedraggled and over worked campaign leader's sanity.
@Michael J. - Michael, should I ever attempt another campaign I will have to invent a way to create a virtual cattle prod (or Tazer) to keep everyone in line. I am very glad that you have enjoyed the campaign despite it being a trying period for you and yours. Hopefully it provided you with a bit of distraction from day to day trials.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to thank all those that have PMed me with their status and thoughts about an extension to the campaign. I realize that life has a way of raising its ugly side when we least expect it. We still have a tad over two weeks left so I will not make any decisions at this point. To those who haven't started yet, the clock is ticking and if you don't start soon any minor reprieve may not prove sufficient.
As always, you can PM me with your thoughts or post them in this forum.
There are now 14 people that have fulfilled the campaign requirements and about half a dozen more that are getting close. I have updated the offsite BBCAMPAIGN Website with the latest chart and feature gallery entries.
If anyone has completed a build and not yet put it in the Kitmaker Gallery, please do so as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Jan

It seems that I am slightly jinxed when it comes to this build.
First I ruined my high-end Harder&Steenbeck airbrush when adding some finishing touches to it, so I had to resort to my worn-out Aztec, in order to get it finished in time, only to brew up my digital camera while taking pictures.
As the clock is ticking I'll just show you some pix taken with my cell-phone to prove that it is finished.
I'll take better once as soon as I get my courage up and scrape together the funds to buy a new cam (whic is after I buy a new airbrush....)
I added liberal amounts of mud, not to hide any flaws (really !), but because - one day - it will figure in a Rasputitsa diorama.
PS: some very nice work shown here, but excuse me for not replying that often, my internet browser seems to be running into trouble everytime I try. Will it never end.... ?
Cheers
Rob

I have made some progress on my Elefant. Basic structure is complete, added a few details. Still need to work the track around the wheels, not an easy task with the way they engineered the lower hull... I tried wrapping the vinyl tracks around them and they can work, but they're not that great and don't fit quite right. If I have to I will use them so that I can finish it by the end date. After the tracks I have a few more small details, maybe an antennae if I can get some guitar string and painting

That is a fine build! There is something complimentary about German grey and mud/dirt
I have had no luck either with my airbrushes. Attempting to lay down an overall olive drab onto an Airfix DuUKW saw an explosion of my old Testors single action and my expensive Aztek A470 simply refusing to work. Luckily I have a nice Sparmax to fall back on.

I know that I'm not going to have enough time to finish this kit before the campaign ends but I’m having so much fun with it that I can’t stop and I still have my first two entries to do. The cast resin T-55 wheels have yet to be cleaned up before I can move onto completing the suspension. Below is the assembled turret for the T-34/85M model 1969. I may just have to stop here and move onto my first two entries if I'm going to contribute to this campaign?
To create the very ruff and porous texture as seen on the WWII manufactured cast turrets for the T-34/85's I first randomly ground the surface of the plastic turret with light pressure using the smallest round cutter on my Dremel variable speed motor-tool. Next I used an old paint brush to stipple the turret and commanders cupola using Mr. Surfacer 500 followed by a gentle sanding with medium grit sand paper.
@naimbrain, Your Leopard 1A5, Faun and PzH 2000 are coming along so good. I especially like your treatment on the camouflage. There going to look excellent once the wreathing is applied.
weathering_one, That Panzer I is really dinky next to your M1. Hope you have a little more luck with the Pak gun.
@tread_geek, I like the bucket with metal handle you’ve added to your Stug. I will also be placing some stowage on my build and a bucket looks just like the right item to have on board . . . if I can find one. I may have to scratch build one? And you had to go and bust out another “closet queen!”
@eremzet, The multi-colored hard edge camouflage combined with the weathering looks very convincing and so realistic. Thanks for sharing your step-by-step photo method posted earlier here on how you achieved this complex paint scheme. And like ‘tread_geek’, I too will have to give it a try on a future build when I feel a little more confident with my painting skills.
@erhntly, Nice Panther and paint scheme. And thanks for the link over at AFV Turkiye where I found your build log with lots of photos and references to this site. Keep up the good work and hoping to see you here more often.
@Rob_Haelterman, Nicely weathered half-track. I like the lightly bleached out Panzer Gray panels. Rob, keep your chin up, things will get better. Imagine just how boring it would be if everything went according to plan?

Eddy
That is a lot of added detail on the turret, nice work!
I actually have a Dragon 1:35 NVA T34-85 with a great deal of aftermarket given to me for Christmas about 15 years ago. Not really my scale though!

@Rob : Excellent finish on the halftrack. I really like the faded Panzergrey color.
@Eddy : Very nicely done turret.
It's very nice to see that this campaign even at it's last days holds some excelltn projects.

The tank is almost ready. Only thing to do is to combain it with the base ground.
@Eddy painting of this camo is really not so difficoult, only time consuming. Try it - it is pure fun

And herre we are at page 40!!!! You people are fantastic!!!!!
As usual the master chart was updated and we have more finishers. Still two weeks to go but the builds won't make themselves! Please check your status in the chart as even I am only human and you keep me hopping.
Cheers,
Jan
P.S. - All those that have finished a model should check to see that it is actually in the official Kitmaker campaign gallery. You can find it HERE.

Fini! Well I'm still going to add more stowage to the Bren/Bedford (Bredford?) which I'll not get till after the deadline and the Matador is getting some extras added and going into a LCM for a dio. But it is done for now.
Snaps: (You can also see these in the gallery)
Great campaign Jan, I've enjoyed participated and also lurking and admiring the other builds, really inspiring me to improve and try more conversions.
Airfix Refuelling Set. 1/76 plus gun and tracks from the airfix 6pdr / bren carrier set.
