Hi All,

I'm in, loads of Tigers in the stash, be nice if it was a mid 2011 start, but I'm whenever the start.

Jason

I think a shorter list would be of people who do not have at least one Tiger in their stash!!
I'm in, now just need to play spin the wheel and figure which Tabby to build! Decisions, decisions.

I don't have a Tiger in stash
If i buy something I immediatly want to build it,
Last weekend I bought a Messerschmitt 262 NachtJäger, and I still didn't touched it (ok... I looked in the box ) That askes for an achievement
I hope you all can make a choice
for mine it wouldn't be a problem

Bas,
I just saw the campaign ribbon on the sign up page. It looks good but my question is what do the colors signify
looking forward to this 1 starting but I'm signed up in 3 others that start before this 1

Wow, I just took a look at the ribbon myself and those were not colours that I was expecting to see.

I have very little knowledge of these things, but I think that Bas is intending for the ribbon to resemble that of a Tiger specialist's ribbon?

Bas, Like I said it looks good, if the colors are for what Jeremy suggested even better. I did a quick search to find out what he is talking about but i'm too tired right now to concentrate I'll have to check later when I'm more awake

I am a big tiger fan, I am in . Not sure what kind of tigers to build though, got too many tigers in my stash, from tiger I to it and rarer tigers...

Looks like I've got quite a few things to do to my kit to represent a December 42 Tiger but I feel up to the challenge..Just ordered the Voyager Early Tiger for the Dragon kit ... Got to raid a Tamiya Initial kit for the stowage box ,the feifel system and the rear part of the engine deck ..I see the Dragon kit has the earlier engine hatch still on the sprues so that saves me some work.
YA GOTTA love the Tigers!!

Too close to Christmas so I have to use what I have. Which looks like it will be a sPzAbt 504 Tiger North Africa.

Please keep in mind this is only my second Tiger and I might have the nomenclature all wrong.

I will be using the Academy Tiger I Early, Amber Tiger I Barrel, Verlinden Tiger I Interior and Engine and some of the items off an Eduard’s Tiger I Late PE set. A nice long and slow build.

I have a ton of info on the 501 but not much on the 504. For example I’ve learned that the 504 NA had removed their front headlights, they went to the hinged front and rear fenders with extensions, the second pistol port was changed to an escape hatch, they changed to small red turret numbers, along with a couple of smaller marking changes and the engine grills had the wire mesh. Also the added front track holder, step and grab handle.
My questions are;
1. Did they use the same tool layout as the 501st?
2. Did the side fenders change, it looks like a different angle and that some more support was added.
3. Were the head light mounts completely removed or replaced with some sort of cover?
4. The only really good rear view I have shows no covers for the exhaust. I know they had them and that they were different then the 501st but were they different then the future ones or the same as? (Got this one, new covers just dont scrib the top or bottom metal of the PE set, looks smooth)
5. Is there something else I might be missing that my tired out eyes are not seeing.

I appreciate any help and thanks in advance,
Bob

Side question, Was a banner going to be made for the Campaign? I have so much time on my hands I just need to play with this changing banner thing.

Sal, I am tired of school (accounting the VA sent me) and so I decided that I needed to relax instead of sweating the classes so much. And so every little time that have free from study I will build, it seems to sooth the feathers down after a day in class with all of these kids (retired navy). I am coming up on a delima, short of kits for the Tiger campaign until I find one at a good price and minus the turret in my Mireage 7TP for the White Eagle campaign, Oh! well onward and upward. I do not plan to let these kits collect dust. BTW I seem to meet you on quite a few campaigns also guess the party supplies keep you company eh! And how is the ankl/leg doing?

Yeah I find the hobby very relaxing now too and helps de-stress Ankle is doing much better I'm back @ work now working the midnight shift, and it feels better than before I injured it in February, Originally injured it in 2008 and it never heeled correctly. Only thing now it swells up from time to time and I can tell when its gonna rain But thanks for asking

Hi Bob ... The 504th got their tigers latter than the 501st did so they are more ¨Early" Tiger than the Initial Tigers in the 501st ..They more standard in appearance.. They look to be January 43 production with the periscope holes above the drivers position being filled in but still visable.. The large shovel is on the front and regular stowage of the tools is standard.. There should be a box for the tool repair kit above the left rear fender ... Regular fenders that are straight and the wide folding front and rear fenders ... Early feifel system , exhaust covers ,and no loaders periscope.
The restored tiger at Bovington is from the 504th so it can be used as a reference for most things...

"Tiger, Tiger, burning bright
On the Russian steppes at night"...
(apologies to William Blake!)

After keeping a silent watch on this thread I've finally decided to join this campaign, despite struggling with the ones I'm in at the moment. I've got several tigers to build, but I may use this as a stimulus to get to grips with an old "Porsche-turret" Tiger II that's been in the stash longer than I can remember. I think I should be able to pull it off before Dec '11...
