Tracks are done and painted, mounted and am just now gluing the upper hull in place.
Cheers Rob.

Jesper: Looking good! I forgot, which number are you going to make yours?
Rob: Keep up the great work!
There is still an issue with the galleries, so just keep modeling and take pictures along the way so you can post them when you get a chance

Thanks Jesper. If I could I would do bigger dio, but space in Paris is a kind of luxury I can't afford...
Nice Job on the Phantom. Come guys, you are close to the finish line !
Best,
Julien

I'm late to the party! (Traffic. I blame traffic.)
Here's my starting photo, with the July FineScale Modeler...
Cockpit parts and a brave volunteer crew I scrounged up...
"Urgh, and trying to get my foot over... dang it... "
This is the Academy 1/72 OV-10A kit. It's not made for gear-up, but I'll coax it. I want to do a treetop flying scene with that wooden plaque in the first photo, and the crew from my spares. At least I won't have to find and add nose weight.
Foliage is not my thing, so I'll be watching if that tutorial ever comes! Awesome work here on this thread, guys.
Cheers!

PPT: super cool!! Nice video. The only thing I wonder about is the commander's MG doesn't have an ammo box?
Sean: nice subject. I look forward to your dio.

@Julien - nice vignette. All the elements fit in together nicely
@Sean - there is an interesting tutorial by Jan (making trees from wire) which I referred to when I was constructing my trees. As per my OH-6A dio which I posted a few pages back, I used one of the main copper strands as a mount. Hope this helps.

Sean: Can't have too many OV-10's! That type of display would be excellent for an OV-1 as well

Thanks for the tip! Away on other campaigns, I had forgotten about that dio with the helicopter overhead (near the bottom of page 24)-- yes, what I was thinking but much more elaborate story being told! Excellent work. I'll try to use some of that in my own little treetop base. (As a self-proclaimed model railroader, I should be better at trees than I am. The real world is crammed with them!)

I will make the Ace plane "100". Decals will probably go on tomorrow. More to follow.

Extreme heat kept me in the basement over the short Independence Day holiday...
The kit wasn't made for a crew-- see the low clearance of the rear console here...
This poor guy had to have his knees removed...
"It's just a flesh wound"...
Finally a fuzzy photo, but they're both seated now, arms and head inside the ride. (Never mind that the pilot's right arm has a second elbow)...
Cheers!

You are more surgeon than modeller, Sean As long as they can fly they will be fine...
I have made a little more progress and added decals to my F-4J. Next is the cockpit glazing and some light weathering.
More to follow over the weekend.

Sean: Did you really have to at a second elbow after chopping off his legs? What'd the little guy ever do to you?
Jesper: Showtime 100 looks about ready to launch!
Rob: Looking good! I think that you may have inspired Cyberhobby's latest release

Looks good, Rob. What kind of weathering will you do?
Showtime 100 is now ready to launch on the ace making mission. I am calling this one done.
It is the Monogram kit - a decent kit and builds up pretty well although there are minor fit problems here and there especially around the cockpit glazing.
Comments welcome

Yeah, Rob and Jesper, those turned out great!
Jesper-- your decal work really catches my eye-- perfectly conforming and finished dead flat with the paint. Very convincing.
My recent progress...
Buttoned up the fuselages. The gear doors weren't made to close, so the fit is pretty loose. I used bracing across the holes and glued the doors onto those. What I really meant to show in this photo is how busy the weapon attachment hardpoints are, so I'll have to add the external stores after painting the plane. (Probably what airplane modelers always do, but I hadn't seen it.)
The canopy is convex, so it's molded in 4 parts. I sweated the notion, but it is surprisingly strong when dry. I had been nervous about whether it would fall apart when I pulled the masks after painting.
Whenever the glue was setting, I moved to the base. Here I've roughed out the tree layout on my wood plaque. These leafy deciduous tree forms are made from 7-strand 14 AWG wire with the insulation cut back. To make thicker, busier trees, I have taped several of these together into a single tree. (Now I see an "Aircraft Diorama" campaign is forming-- I might do this again later, having more practice next time. )
thanks,
Sean H.

After a very long time, due to several things that happened in my life (luckily all of them were good thinks), I'm back with some finished pictures for the M-548 Guntruck:
I used MIG's "Vietnam earth" pigment to dust the whole vehicle and the Academy accessories.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to finish the NVA T-54, due to a FUBAR damage during the moving to my new house (well that's the only bad thing that happened).
