So here is my finished build. The scene is an exercise in May 1944 before the real invasion. The commanders of several units are meeting to discuss the result of the exercise next to a flak bunker.

This has been a long campaign, but I am really satisfied with the result and hope to see more of the great dioramas in this tread finished.

Thanks to Vladimir for te extension. Vladimir, since there is a problem with uploading pictures to the gallery please check the tread for finished builds before awarding ribbons.

Comments welcome

Wow Jesper! This is really cool and realistic!

I hope there is another Campaign like this as I missed the start but want to get in on one next time around.

Nice work Jesper. I agree 100% with the fact that this is a great idea for a campaign! And, 100% with looking through the forum for pictures.

...I have a huge problem with uploading to the galleries, and have almost sworn off campaigns all together because they are so much of a headache. It seems like I am not the only one with the issue, and it seems like an unnecessary step.

Insisting that the final build image should be in the campaign gallery makes it easier for the campaign leader to award ribbons. This campaign has only 8 pages of threads but there are others with more than 20 pages. It also makes it easier if we want to make a feature of the campaign.

Until the gallery is down, upload the final image into the campaign thread to qualify for a ribbon. The leader can notify me who had a picture in the thread and not in the campaign gallery and I will upload the image into the campaign gallery once the gallery is working again.

Well the floating ladders have gone off in the wind some where I have added some scramble marks into the sand and areas where the troops have travelled up the embankment. I think these are the best positions for the pose of the troops but on reflection may have adjusted some if had more time
Jesper geart build and the figures are really good I need more practice on my figures.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I really appreciate it.

Keith, an outstanding scene. It tells a great story and can be viewed from different sides and still tell the story effectively.

Hi gentlemen, as I rememeber, today this campaign ends.
Unfortunely to say, that I did not finished working on my diorama.

I bought the new base and covered it with "baking-paper" (word per word translated; used as a help for baking small cookies and others in the oven )
But I didn´t covered it with plaster for the concrete ground.
I also cut no new styrofoam-parts.

So my very slow work-progress can only be found in the "Constructive Feedback"-section.

Congratulations to all of our group, who finished their bases!!!
They looking very good to me!

greetings...

Finally finished in the nick of time. Had a major PC problem as it packed up so I'm on my steam powered one now which is slow to say the least. I'll take some pics and put them up tonight.

Keith, Jesper nice builds. Extensions are a great thing otherwise I wouldn't have finished either

No, I´m not the campaign-leader.
But I think, Vladimir will do this... using Gary Kato´s help.
Gary is Armorama´s campaigns-administrator.

This could take a while. It seems Vlad hasn't been on since July 25. I'll wait a few more days for him to get back on. If not, then I'll award the ribbons for this campaign.

Finally got the pics done seeing as the weather was okay today. The scene depicts troops of the 50th Infantry Division moving inland from Gold Beach on the morning of June 6th 1944. After taking out the pill box (wounded crew to the rear), prisoners are being rounded up and fighting through the trench system. That's the plan anyway

Hi Keith,

Excellent work you have there and a grand finsih.

Hi Karl,

Same detail, and good layout of the figures with a nice sense of movement. I was wondering if the dead soldier might fit better in front of the trench?

Terrific stuff guys, very inspiring.

Cheers

Al

Thanks chaps! I really enjoyed doing this build as Normandy is a favourite of mine campaignwise plus it meant I could use my imagination regarding poses etc.

Al, I had thought about putting the dead bloke in front of the trench but then decided that using him and the wounded bloke would add to the essence of the fight through (plus there wasn't much room outside the trench...lol).

I'm at a loss what to do now after spending 7 months on this. I think I may have a mooch about in the magic cupboard under the stairs to see what I can find

OK, I'll start awarding ribbons. First I will award them to those in the campaign gallery then go through the thread to find any others.

Things are probably getting a bit dicey for Vlad since he is in Lebanon and the Syrian Civil War is causing some problems.

Update:
Looks like only erichvon didn't have pictures in the campaign gallery so I will upload them. You should all have your ribbons now!
