@ Tom : nice start to the campaign even though it has not officially started . Certainly will keep an eye on the build

@ Paul : nice photo you have there. Can't wait to see the camo on that Tiger

@ Sal : I recently acquired these on Ebay and was wondering whether I could build the LVTP5 as per attached photo. The only difference is the cargo door which will be in close position, and the crew will not be included. Please advised if this is ok, so that I can enlist. Thanks in advance

Mumhammad,
I saw that you were going to us that kit in the AVF/APC Campaign and in this case yes your mission is approved to us the vehicle here as well because you will be adding Santa and his crew to it as well

Hello Luca,
cool foto, I´d say use this, it´s a real bugger to get together and you will curse the tracks but
if you stick at it, it turns out o.k. It´s from Emhar and
no resin at all.

Hi Luca,

Emhar does several versions of WWI tanks - you want their Mark IV Male kit. Looks like a great diorama in the making!

Been trying to get this one done since I was 16 (long time ago). This is from Tank Magazine (Japan) Dec 87(?) I think. Not terribly fascinating but I like it just the same. Cheers.

Looking forward to getting this campaign started. Cheers.

This sure sounds great. Count me in. I will upload the picture and the start pic.

Its been nearly 5 year since I dropped out of modeling and the enthusiasm with which campaigns are being conducted have made me jump right back in
Thanks everyone. Wish me luck…..

I just found this a bit ago. I already started a topic but I'll stop that one in diorama and just do the same thing here.
I have enlisted so this is what my project will be; The Diorama any way

These are just for reference;
The LVT ID

This is just a full view of another;

And this is what I have to make first;

Since this unit is a scratch build item would I be able to plan this out for everything I need before I actually start construction Sep 15th?

Nice way to get back into things,
Bob

Welcome to the Campaign Damon, Mukund and Robert, looks like some nice projects

@ Robert I take it the you will be building the LVT on the left hand side of your photo or all of them

The first photo will be the Diorama; they just didn't get both of them completely in the shot.

The other one is the LVT(A)4, known as USS Fubar, a radio LVT.

Both are special just to Peleliu as far as I know.

Actually an easy Diorama Just put them both in a Rectangle and fill with an half inch of resin.

My problem is again the actual flamethrower, I have to scratch build it and was wondering if I could manufacture some parts before the actual campaign begins, I have no dimensions or anything, I won't start to build until the 15th. But I do want to fiddle around to figure out sizes.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob being that you will be building 2 LVT's I have no problem with you starting to make parts for the scratch build portion of your project, just don't glue them together yet
looking forward to see you work again

Another question.
Is this the thread you want us to put updates on?
Or will another be created later on?
I have some reference updates if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
Bob

Well then let me start it off in the right direction.
I started by just trying to figure out what was what. I don’t have the manual for this so I had to trace out everything.
The photo of the unit is all I had to go by and I came up with this;

Then I remembered I did have the manual for the E14-7R2 flamethrower installed in the M4A1-M4A3 and the LVT(A)1 so....

So now I actually know what all the various parts should be and what their function is. I still can’t find anything on the “Q” model gun itself and I think I’m just going to use my best guess on that.
So this weekend I can fiddle around to try and figure out the sizes of the mounting equipment and the shields. I’ll just tape together what I put together.
Since I have until the 15th of Sep to start I can budget what I need for the 2 LVT’s and get them on hand. I also better dig around in the shed to see what I have stashed away.
Man I never realized how much I missed this………
Thanks,
Bob

After this weekend I have the basic dimensions down.
Just need to wait for my material order to come in and order another LVT4 and I should be ready to go.

I think making parts might fall into the realm of construction so I'll just draw out specific things I will need.

Thanks,
Bob
