Hi Mike and welcome!
The only rule is that the model kit(s) must be unstarted. You can add figures, dio's, other tanks in the finished photo ... whatever you can handle as long as it can be completed by the due date. Heck, build 2 at one time!
Oh, and we all must have fun no matter what!

the MG15. Hope the pictures come out, I've never done this before.

Well, it looks as though everyone is starting to show their kits. Guess I might as well.
I may get some metal tracks instead of cementing the kits plastic ones (I think metal sags so much better).
And I might alter a few things as well.

please don't miss the fact that part C 21, the Kasematt

JUST what I needed - A StuG III campaign! Having failed my previous attempt at a III build on another site, this is a most welcome reprieve! Salvation starts in JULY!
So... I have this CyberHobby StuG III G with Flussiggas-Antrieb kit - that thing with those cool gas-bottles on the back - infantryman's dream! - just waiting for me to get into. The box has been opened and the bagged sprues fondled, and, yes, I did (but only briefly) shove the hull-tub (still bagged) around on my table (no vroom vroom from me for it - more like grinding and screeching noises - you know, those of a heavy metal lump scraping acrosst the tarmac, etc. etc.). But it's otherwise a virgin. I'm ready to cut baggies and do the styrene and cement thing come 04 JULY!
Here's the kit - I'll take and submit another come the start-date.
And I'll go enlist.

Bob,
I only do the vroom vroom sounds because of the powerful Maybach engine.
Not to mention the fact that it makes the cats think I have lost it...

I always wanted one of those kits with the Flussiggas set up and this one looks pretty good with it but since I have so many StuG kits already I could never bring myself to spend the money.
I really want to get a B or a D kit but now I have to spend the money for a Buffalo on another Campaign.
Looking forward to seeing this one though! Good choice there panzerbob01!

Ah.... powerful Maybach mo-mo... hmmmm.
Shite! I just knew CH left something outta the kit!
I NEVER worry about my cats and what they think... I HAVE lost it, so there's nada to be ashamed of on that score, and besides, SWMBO insists that MY cats (they always become mine after something "bad" has gone down) don't think - but only react! (HER cats - the other part which has not done something "bad" - are of course rather more intellectual and thoughtful.) One of mine tried to eat a piece of stretched sprue last nite. Now THAT got a reaction!
Bob
This "Bob" stuff is starting to sound all redundant and stuff!

Hey thanks everyone for signing up! So far we have 21 participants that share the same idea as me ... the need for a StuG Campaign. I'm so excited I might do a dual build! I really want an early StuG too.
Well, approved and all set! All in 3 days too!

I'll probably enlist a bit later. The only StuGs I have in the stash are already partially built so I'll have to hit the LHS for whatever I decide on. It's hard to justify buying anther StuG 3 when I have six of them already needing to be finished. I'd probably go with a StuG IV.
However, I was wondering if a StuG M-43 would be allowed?

Well, I really don't like sending someone away but if there weren't so many variations of the StuG's available I'd would say yes.
But I'd like to keep it exclusive with the StuG III and StuG IV chassis/vehicles. I would even entertain selecting something like the Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B or the SU-76i ... both based on the StuG and Panzer III chassis, but that's it. Even though they are basically classified as an Assault Gun or Tank, I really don't want to open it up and have it become an Assault Gun/Self-Propelled Gun Campaign.

Jeff, Okay. If it had not had a "StuG" designation I wouldn't have even asked. It's an interesting vehicle and I'll probably add it to my "to do" list. It was a widely used vehicle, more than the Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33. And definitely stands out in a crowd.
Maybe a DAK Ausf. D or a StuG IV. I don't know. I can't believe that I don't have a single StuG kit in the stash that hasn't been worked on already.
Anyway, I'll have to think it over. I still have some time before the campaign goes live and then a few months to play around with after that. Whatever I decide I'll have to look for a kit.

Well, just how "started" are some of these kits? I mean, I'd like to see maximum participation and if you only have a small start on a kit and if the members here don't mind ... maybe a tiny exception could be made? I'd almost rather see a bend there in the rules than allowing a renamed vehicle in.
Otherwise, I've been shopping around and an affordable StuG in either configuration can be had.

Jeff, My two with the least amount of work done are a Dragon StuG III ausf. C/D and a Cyber Hobby StuG III ausf. E. I was building these two at the same time before shelving them so they are both completed to the same level.
I deviated from the kit instructions so I can't say I made it through Step X. What I have is the lower hull suspension parts (Step 2) done. I mounted the hull part (A1) to the lower hull and installed the rear grill (A7). No assembly on tracks, fenders, road wheels, drive sprockets, idler wheels, gun, and no paint.
If you have any of the old Dragon StuG III kit instructions handy, I did Step 2 and did parts of Step 4 & 8.
Let me know what you think...if they are too far along. I don't want to step on anyone's toes.

Alex, like I said I don't like to turn anyone away because it is all about having fun. Having a StuG III or a StuG IV is the most important part. You must really want in!
It's all about honesty and just for arguments sake, one or two of us may have a kit in similar condition ... I don't know. I think the idea is to join with a kit you're just not going to "finish" up on.
So, knowing the background on this and how I feel are there any objections Jury? Speak up! This is more your Campaign than anything.
I just thought up the idea.

Hello to all members of the StuG Brig. build,
does it really matter if the kit is started?
As Jeff say`s, it`s all about taking part, having fun and getting a response (positive or not) from the group. I`d
say if the kit isn`t more than 25% built then it`s ok.
But even it`s more than that, and you don`t admit to it, your only cheating yourself.
As far as I`m concerned let alex take part with his "started kit".

Jeff & Paul,
I respect the rules about using kits that have already been started. The way I build, I often jump around so I have a lot of my kits already started. That's one of the reasons I don't do many campaigns. The last one I asked about using a partial built I was basically ignored so I quit asking.
In the case of this campaign, I'd basically be buying a new StuG kit for this campaign, probably a kit more a model that I already have at least one of already. I figured that if I was going kit scrounging I'd ask about the StuG M-43. Asking about using the partial kits didn't even come to mind. These two StuG kits are among my choices for the "Get Her Done" campaign. I have plenty of options on that one.
If it's a matter of workload I can even do both the C/D & the E. I would probably do them both anyway and this could be the motivator to get them done.

I think the biggest reason with the 'unstarted kit syndrome' is so you're really building a full kit instead of just finishing one off for the ribbon, while everyone else had to start with a brand new one. Sounds like Alex's is only a few parts.
Let's give it the weekend and as long as there are no major complaints or objections (and I don't foresee any) then come on in!
Like Paul said, you're only cheating yourself with these Campaigns and it's not a modeling contest, it's just a get together to have some fun.
I wouldn't want it to be anything more.
