Here are some in process photos of my warped M10.
Thanks for all the hints on fixing a very warped hull.
I tried the glue in place with plenty of clamps.
That almost did the job. There is still a slight warp only visiable from the rear.

Hello friends!

I will start a Hetzer Late of Academy, 1/35. This time the Construction will be "Straight of Box". No add-ons because it have received positive comments in some Reviews that the kit is excellent in all aspects, fine!.

Hello friends!

More updates:

Ready the wheels and part of the Hull. The tracks are curved so they can give the heavy weight effect when installed.

Rodolfo,
That is coming together nicely!

Got some more done on the SU-85
This is my first set of Magic Tracks and I like them they went together so much faster than the individual links I have been doing. Finishing up the last of the PE these straps are a pain to work with. I have five left should get paint on in a day or two.

Cheers Rob.

Got those straps done , got easier as I went along especially since I figured out to file down the ends that go through the buckle It's pretty much ready for painting now.

Cheers Rob.

Here is the final product of the Acadamy M10 TD

It has been a fun but sometimes frustrating build due to the extreme warped hull. But I did get it done.

Tom,

Looks good, there is a lot to be said for just plain old "git 'er done". A really nice clean looking build. Can't see any residual issues with the hull, you have done a really nice job working around that problem.
Don't know how tight the tracks are, or if you have even addressed this before, but if you have some play you might want to lock down the front road wheel. It appears to be riding up in the photo. I haven't been following this thread very closely, so I apologize if you already addressed the issue, but I thought I would mention it.

Cheers,

Hello friends!

More updates:

Armor ready for paint!. The only problem were the upper hatches which I arranged by filling the hollows with the method of "blended plastic" using glue. I also show by separated the parts that will be painted before they are assembled wich will also include the machine gun.

Rodolfo, I will be building the same kit for the Panzer 38t Campaign. Thanks for giving me the preview of what I have to look forward to.

Rick,
Thanks for the comments. As for the rubber band tracks, I used a form from Hobbytrax. That form takes the tracks after they have been "welded" together, then placed on the form and dipped into hot water for a short time then run under cool water and it shrinks to the size of the form. One side did great. The other side came apart at the 'weld" joint. I had to revert to the old trick of stapling the tracks together then do the hot water/form exercise again. This time some of the tracks deformed and that is what you see.

You learn something with each build.

Hi guys,

Just checking - this campaign ends at Christmas, yes? I've been plugging away at an M36 for the past two months, but it won't even enter the paint shop by then... (Got some Bronco tracks to build for it - let's hope the Mayans are right! )

I'll post photos soon.

Thanks Alex!

Finally was added a tow cable and chains of Greif (Mexican) and I made a little hole for adding after of painting. The cable (?) of the kit is a simple thread!.

Tom - Nice work on the M10!

Rodolfo - I was going to build that kit for this campaign but I have run out of time, so it is a pleasure to see one being built. It looks great and you are making quick progress. I can't wait to see it in paint.

Rob - The SU-85 looks awesome, nice work on the PE.

Speaking of Russian Tank Destroyers and the SU-85 in particular...

Phill - I won't be able to finish my Hetzer in time so I am hoping you are OK with me withdrawing it and entering the Dragon 1/72 SU-85. I think I can get it done in time. This will be my first braille scale kit and it looks awesome. I'll get a start pic up later tonight.

Tom,

Thanks for sharing, I have never seen (or even heard of) the track forms from Hobby Trax. Checked out their website; it's pretty extensive for 1/35 WWII vehicles. How would you rate using the product, bottom line; was it worth the cost?

Tom---great job on your M-10 TD. That's really a crisp looking finish.

Rodolfo---Your Hetzer looks like it is coming along well. Look forward to seeing the completed vehicle.

Best wishes, Ian
