Thanks Phill, the kit has a few strange quirks about it. There seems to be a few photo etch parts left out compaired to their other KV kits like no screen mesh for the engine intake, but etch parts for the fenders are included. Also the metal barrel has no tabs to line up the muzzle break and the fit is very loose. Overall a very nice kit and can't wait to start building it.

Out of curiosity Christopher, what type of tracks does the kit have? Trumpeter is not very consistent with one kit having one piece vinyl and then the next you must build the individual links.
Thanks!

Hi Christopher,
that is good news with the tracks. I´ve got the 12.8cm on the Krupp Waffenträger, and the those disgusting MK style
tracks have driven me crazy. The bolts that are supposed hold the links together are to short, and a milligram too much glue melts the buggers completly. The Hetzer from Trumpeter has these damned tracks to. Thank God I have an old set of Dragons Panzer 38t (set 3813)for that, and for the Waffenträger I have added the Tristar P38t tracks, they also were no fun to build .
Next Time it´s going to be friul
Paul.

Well, maybe I will just go metal then.
Do you clean 'em up with a dremmel? 1/16 tracks never need any trimming or cleaning.

Jeff ,,nothing that flashy is needed ,,just a model knife will clean up the tracks very nicely ,, not surprised that 1/16th dont need any clean up ,,so much bigger than 35th and the clean up takes no effot at all ,,the metal is soft and easy to work

Hi Jeff,
its like Phill said, a modelling knife is all you need and I
tend to use brass wire brush too. Similar to the type used
on suede shoes.

Thanks guys!
In the next 3 months, the Sturmgeschütz Campaign, the Tank Destroyer/SPG Campaign and also the APC / AFV, we will witness more plastic and resin getting sorted out, glued & cemented and thrashing occurring than anyone has ever seen before. Even if you're not signed up, the amount of activity will be entertaining and informative all at the same time.
So stay tuned!

Some questions:
+ Is the tank destroyer limited to gun armed systems or do missile based units (German Jaguar, US M901 Hammerhead) count
+ Is an MLRS or an M109 self propelled artillery
+ Is a Centauro or an M1128 MGS a tank destroyer (IIRC their main job is "fire support/bunker busting" but an M68 105mm is a tank killer
+ What about the swedish S-Tank (build like a Jagdpanzer but an MBT if you ask Sweden)

I didn't forget them Sal, I just ran out of ink. Plus, I'm not entered into the Motorcycle Mayhem Build so I didn't want to look as though I was bragging.
Aaaahh ... it's good to be a modeler once again.

mmeier ok to answer your questions.
1 ,, Missile armed tanks killers are included ..just not mentioned ..we all forgot .
2 The M109 and MLRS are self propelled artillery .
3 Ok the Centauro is a tank destroyer and specified as one where as the MGS is a infantry support vehicle designed to support the infantry in their operations ..it is not designed as to tank destroyer ,it does have a anti tank capabilities but its not its primary job .
4 The S tank is classified as a Main Battle Tank .
Hope this helps ya with your questions

Phill Mate,
Do I remember clearly that what got you started on this was having a Jagdpanzet IV 70?? If so is it the version that has what I will call the triangular gun travel lock??
Just that the stug IV I am making for the stug campaign has one on it that I think is similar, so was after the dimensions to make one.
Cheers Mike
