Hey Gary,
Your Hurricane is looking better and better!
What did you use for the streaks and the spilled fuel? Especially that last one looks really great!

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your nice comment. I appreciate it. The spillage was created with Raw Umber oil paint.
I have pretty much completed the upper hull. I will try to add some type of stowage and tarp. I dont have any 1/48 scale stowage so ill have to be creative i guess.
I will complete the turret today and dirty up around the boggies, then on to the tracks which i will have to cut a couple links and add spacers and refit on both sides. Heres the upper hull complete minus stowage and tarp.

Gary - I'm not in this campaign as I'm full with them right now. So I decided to lurk in here and spotted your Sherman that's so impressive. You nailed the green, and the weathering/decals look awesome. But, I was even more impressed you gave 1/48 a try.
ps I think the link problem occurs when pressing the individual ones too close together around the rear wheel. Blackdog or Legend makes some nice resin stowage bits you can find around $10-15 but honestly, I wouldn't cover that paintjob up with anything

Steph, Ian, and Greg,
Thanks so much for the awesome words and comment. I appreciate that alot fellas.
Greg - Extra Cash is hard to come by these days and on top of that i have no credit card. SO, stowage isnt an option unless i scratch something up. I plan on something on the engine deck, but i will consider leaving it as is. Your right on the tracks. Thats exactly what i did, but ive fixed the issue and have started painting them.

Thanks Ian. I've been going crazy trying to get the thing finished before I leave tomorrow for the AMPS show in South Carolina, so I haven't even had time to take photographs. Tonight's the last big push. I'll update the thread with photos when I get a chance.

Hello Jose,
Hummel, probably yes... Das Reich definitly no, they arrived a lot later in the area.
But, there are a lot of options, just read through the thread, or ask here, you'll find plenty.

Hello Jose,
The dragon kit is correct, das reich arrived in June, but at the end of June....
This campaign is about dday, and the units and AFV's that fought in those very first days, reason why the li'it is at June 10th and the Caen - Cherbourg highway.
But like I said, there were more then enough units and armour fighting in this area and time frame to choose from. The 12nd SS is possible for example, and might have had hummel's...

Hello Gentlemen,
I finally got the tracks basecoated and attatched. Ill complete the weathering on the bottom half and return to the upper to finish off the MG's and tools. Im thinking on leaving off any stowage. I dont have any 1/48 musset bags or satchels and im not sure it will be convincing to put a tarp covering supposed crates made from styrofoam. Anyways, here it is with tracks on.

Jesse - Your Firefly looks like an award winner! Since you're short on photo time, looking forward to some show pics wearing its laurels, er ribbons.
Jose - I think Dave is pointing you in the right direction. I see several sources that have Hummels in the 12th SS order of battle.
Gary - It just gets better and better.

Hey guys,
I started on balaclava, I'm not doing it for this campaign, I'm still going with the centaur here, but since this is also a dday tank, I wanted to share the beginning.
Ill post the full build as a blog in the armor topic.
Have fun!
