Chris,
Your flying along!!! Love the idea!!! What is the Verlinden news crew like as I was contemplating getting them myself if I can flesh out a group of Libyan Freedom Fighters

Hey mike, most everything I'm using is already prebuild from other project and I just have to really work on the saladin. The news crew will mostly fit the 80's and 90's, not sure about today. The camera the one is carrying might need to be modified alittle ot match current cameras. But the detail and fit are pretty good.

Gary, It is a little gem of a kit. It's a neat little vehicle to begin with and the kit goes together quite well. My only gripe is I wish they had given an option for the mantlet cover. I like how you made your own mud flaps. The ones in the kit look way too stiff and flat.

Hi everyone well here we go then, it´s going to be the Frankenstein T55/18 or M18/55 or...
I´ll get some start pics on tomorrow.
@Gary : I like that ASU, Ishall have to get one sooner or later
@Christopher : lovely Saladin, and nice how you camouflaged
that bodge job of a fit problem.
@Jeff : your Saladin is also cool, are you going to stick with that cactus like .30 cal coax, or swap it for something else?
Paul

Gary your making some pretty good progress there. Love the new mud flaps
Paul love that your doing one of those crazy Bosnian t-55/m18 hybrids.
Well here is my latest update. Managed to finish off all the details on the hull and used a few extra parts from the spare bins. I’ve now turned my attention to building the suspension which is always the trickiest part to build on any resin kit.

Okay. Time for some pictures.
The kit is Cyber Hobby's T-34-85m in 1/35 scale.
I started off by doign some preemptive painting. I hit the lower hull, the road wheels, and the suspension spring housings. I went with dark green except for the springs. I put those aside to dry overnight.
I decided to push ahead and began assembly on the turret. It went together pretty straightforward. The under mantlet chin pieces would require filling though. The black dots around the handles are felt tip pen. It makes them easier to see and don't undermine the bond.
I wanted to add some wear and tear. I cut off one of the front fenders. I used hot water to soften parts of the fenders to bend slightly.
Back to the lower hull and roadwheels. I used flat black to paint the rubber. I'll dry-brush them later with dark gray. I put them on the running gear and then put that aside to dry.
Back to work on the upper hull. Again, it all went pretty smoothly and was fairly straightforward.
And now the tracks. Again, no real issues. They fell together quickly. I left the idler wheels loose to help with track placement later. I like individual tracks. These were wonderful. Very little fitting issues.
Off to paint.
Back from paint. It's green.
And that's where we are at right now. She's dried overnight and I'll start assembling probably tonight or this weekend. I'll probably start working on figures. I'm using parts from Dragon's NVA Sapper set, but not the set that came with the kit. These are old ones that I already had....they are the old yellow Dragon plastic. I'm going to save the kit's figure set for the tank killer dio.
By the way, I'm really enjoying this kit. It really goes together well. I'm way ahead of schedule.

Still waiting on the UH-1D in the mail. So I got started on the figures.
These three guys were a real pain in the but i got them together
Here's a mock up of what I want to build, the helo is academy's UH-1 gunship. It will be replaced by the D version while the B version is flying overhead cover. The radio man is talking the gunship while the one guy pops smoke to mark the target area.
Here's the markings for the Choppers
Thanks for looking

Alex (Bluestab)--Great work on the T-34. Really looks sharp so far. Those Dragon -34's fly together and are really nice kits.
Alex (Youngun)--Great job on the figures and very realistic poses. I look forward to seeing the completed project.
Best wishes, Ian

Hey Gary, thanks budy for the coments. Yes I mostly use super glue on everything unless the part is too heavy and then I'll use epoxy glue.
I did however made a big mistake when attaching the wishbones. I switch the front with the rear ones and now may hinder attaching the shock absobers

Mike....how about a AK-47 profile on the banner? Nothing says Civil War/Proxy War like an AK. As for actually making the banner, I have no idea.

They're fairly easy to make. I do agree about the AK. I think it's Zimbabwe who has an AK on their flag because it was, 'astoundingly' a huge part of their revolution.

Ian, Mike, and Gary, Thanks, but the kit gets most of the credit. It really comes together pretty easy. And yep it's got its base paint coat on. Just finished spraying a few places that needed touching up. Weathering and dirt are going to take some time. Layers of dust but not caked on.
Christopher, It's Mozambique. I think there is, or was another one too. Zimbabwe's flag uses a machete though.

Meh, I'm not an expert on Africa. They've all got pretty interesting flags and very unusual names. They've all seen their share or wars and I'll probably never go there.
Working on a suggestion for a banner, it's a bit harder than I though (there's me opening my big mouth again!) as I keep forgetting Paint doesn't have 'smart scissors' and I can't break up an image the way I can with Word.
