I usually get ATAK Zimm it's easier to apply than the Eduard PE Zimm, it much more flexible too.
Those pieces of resin Zimm are smooth and flexible ? or hard and thick ?

John I also have a set of ATAK zim for a Panther A I will be building for another campaign and I would say that are of equal thickness, but as with any sheet material it does not like being bent in both plains at the same time and tries to crease, a small amount of heat from a hair dryer softens everything up and so sticks down where this problem occurs.

Here is the start of my project. As stated previously the Jagdtiger was previously started when I obtained it. The hull and deck were attached with the vent screens. I believe that it is a Dragon kit for I was able to obtain such instructions. I will add a Eduard barrel, Hobby Boss tracks.

Darren... Zimm looks fantastic.What are you using for glue?I have heard that getting the panels to stick can be tricky.Jeff T.

Jeff T If the surface is a flat one I use PVA glue, for bends (curves) I use suger glue or epoxy.

i have been looking for some Atak zim for my jagdtiger but cannot find it at my l.h.s.. any sites you all reccomend to find some?

John may be your best bet for that answer Chris, it is also worth asking the membership if anyone has a set they are willing to sell or direct you to a retailer, Can't your LHS order it for you?.

Well I got all my roadwheels primed,and I don't think I'll be trying any more Vallejo primer Here's why
I washed all the parts with windex and then ISO alcohol just like I always do,and made sure they where dry.
Vallejo was sprayed unreduced at 20 pounds pressure.I have reduced it in the past and it layed down really great,but did not stick well and did not feather edge at all.
Here's what I got
The wheel on the left is Vallejo and the one on the right is Tamiya laquer spray can.
As you can see if you look close is that the Vallejo would not flow over the plastic and just puddled up.The Tamiya hade no problem and went on nice and smooth.
I can't figure this stuff out,I really like Vallejos paints for brushing and spraying,but I think I'll stick with Tamiya's primer for now.Jeff T.

Here are the long awaited photos of my progress. I need to delegate my time for a few other campaigns requite my time. Since this photo was taken all rear plate items were removed, road wheels painted and started to add wire grab handles. Barrel replaced with Eduard copy. Battery is low on camera.

I did a lot of work this weekend. Most of the assembly is finished and primed.

Phil:They seem like a never ending battle.Earlier in the thread you mentioned painting DS tracks.What did you use and did you paint them on the hull?

I myself on the other hand did not get a lot done today as it was deemed "Get the house and yard ready for winter day"
I did find a mistake in the directions though.
In step one it shows to install part E2 to part E1. There is an E2 on the sprue but......
SURPRISE It's already there No big deal,just interesting.
I also shaved and sanded the front hatch handles off to make room for some scratched ones

It came with the kit.
So far the only PE was a hand-made spare track handle, since one that came with the kit flew from the tweezers never to be found again...

And so the Carpet Monster is happy for another day I hate when that happens.Jeff T.

I think I used steel from testors in the square bottle. Or I may have used one of the metal colours from citadel colour /games workshop. Still working with paint combinations.
