No sorry don't know him.
That ribbon sounds a pretty awesome idea though as it seems quite an hard topic to come up with one on! Nice job!
Im no expert though (1st campaign)maybe a little overactive on here but nothing official.

Howdy Y'all,
I've got my entry; Dragon's 1/144 Jagdpanzer IV L/48. I'm saving the Hetzer for the 38(t) campaign.

I worked on the Jagdpanzer IV L/48 and sprayed a base coat of lightened 'Portland Stone' but wasn't satisfied. I went back after it dried and re-painted it 'Portland Stone' darkened a little with 'German Green Brown.'

Hi all bringing this thread back to the top again, are campaigns usually this quiet?
Finished the builds of my Stuka, KO'd KV-1, Panzer IV, T-34, and Panther for my Kursk dio also dragons 1/144 lepold gun which i doubt i will use though.
Struggling with pictures at the moment though as my camera struggles with such small tanks but il try to post some photographic proof soon!
Don thats a lovely little Jagdpanzer IV so far! Just gotta wonder though did you have any problem glueing the kit together with plastic cement? As the leopold from that series didn't want to stick together so i superglued it.

This one has been very quiet so far, but not the quietest ever. It's even quieter than it should be as our leader is still AWOL .
I bought this set of 1:350 A-3s.
they are pretty tiny! I like them alot, I might buy some more sets in this scale. The molding looks really good and the decals are quite nice.
Ive have alot on my plate right now, but I will be building these and keeping an eye on this thread over the coming months.

Daniel:
I didn't have any problems using Tamiya liquid cement. Did you was the parts first? That might help. I've got mine clear coated now. Next-a wash of dark oil paint;or s some green camo, I haven't decided yet.
Thanks,
Don "Lakota"

JClapp is your new campaign leader.

Hello all, Ive adopted this quiet little campaign because I am very interested in modelling in smaller scales. for many years I have worked in N scale, which is 1:160, and recently Ive been working on 1:144 aircraft and buildings.
for this thread I decided to pursue 1:350 scale model kits to go with my collection of 1:400 die-cast airliners.
So here's where I am so far
A couple of 1:400 airliners, a set of Vigilantes I have already built , and the assembled airframes of the Skywarrior set I bought for this campaign. I also put the engines together, but will paint the models before mounting them.
This scene give me the idea to make a Davis-Monthan type scene with alot of mothballed and cannibalized aircraft...
anyway, I want to encourage folks to look into small scale models, please let me know how I can be helpful.

Thanks for the help Don i think that was probably it!
Strange thing was though that some parts seemed to be ready up to the point of having pin marks filled by the previous owner but nevermind i'l wash the rest of the parts!
Nice job taking over Jonathan and some awesome little planes you've got there!
If its not too much trouble would you post a pic with your planes next to a coin or similar to show the extent of their tininess?
Cheers

hoy Dan, I struggled with the camera focus issue also but have worked out a method that works. The solution Ive arrived at is to shoot the subject from a few feet away, which will allow the camera to focus well, and then crop the image to just around the subject.
for example my very cheap little camera has a native image size of 2048x1536.
if the subject occupies an area of around 1/4 of the image, selecting 800x500 or so from the middle of the screen will result in a decent sized image with good focus.
no need to get in close, this is a small segment of a large image of my bench top.
Here are two of the Vigilante's parked on my cell phone. once again, photo taken from three feet away, and then image cropped to a useful size.
here is my humble bench, with all this activity going on.
I have never bought any photo editing software.
Do you have a Windows computer? I use MSPaint, which comes with Windows. view|zoom out, select desired area, copy, file|new image, paste, properties|image width and height to suit, save as new file name.

masking for white undersides, time consuming, will take three days to get them all masked and shot.
Ive also broken open a package of Tamiya planes I found for $5.
They arent as nice as the Trumpeter ones, they have hollow undersides, no clear glazing, and the decals are basic, no unit markings. Ill have to make something up for the tails of the four Phantoms.
Im not really interested in the Prowlers or Hawkeyes, those are up for grabs if anyone wants to have a go.

Hi Jonathan thanks for the brilliant advise!
Im going to try out your way definitely now that i've got some new batteries for my camera! I usually just use windows live photo gallery nothing fancy, with a Vivicam 5195.
I've been pretty busy recently but as soon as i can get some good daylight I will have a go and post some progress!
Your planes are looking brilliant so far, i wish i had enough patience to mask such tiny areas off!

Hoy Dan, I hope to see your work soon.
Ive also been otherwise occupied, but this week looks like easing up a bit and I hope to get back to building models.
masking 1/350 airplanes is pretty grueling, in fact Ive only done three of the Skywarriors so far.
on another note - I was just browsing for other small scale models and found what must be the most difficult kits ever devised !

Finally got some progress shots! Kursk diorama 1/144
My campaign panther and his cousin
T-34
KO'd KV-1
Ju-87 Stuka
Rough diorama set up
Rough deployment of tanks
Thanks

Hi Tom, it certainly is, welcome aboard. 1:700 is the smallest scale we have in here yet. Hasegawa make lovely model kits, I'm looking forward to seeing that little ship go together.
In keeping with the cross-discipline theme of the campaign now we have ships tanks and airplanes. We still need some soft-skin of civilian vehicles. N scale structure of vehicle kits would also be welcome
Id like to see some more of the original enlistees turn out, any one lurking?

I'm enlisting in this campaign to hold me over till the start of 2013 and the beginning of the Large Scale campaign. For the Large Scale, I will be doing a 1/24 PBR Mk II (Vietnam era boat), I thought it'd be fun to do a tiny PBR to go on my desk at work to match the big one at home. So, an N-scale PBR Mk II starts tonight.

excellent, another scale and another genre
Are you scratch building or starting with an N scale boat kit?

Hello,
I have a spare, unbuilt 1/76 kit, so I've decided to enlist. My contribution to the campaign:

Welcome Tat Baqui. That's a nice looking kit, and another new scale for the campaign.
We now have represented 1:76, 1:144, 1:350, and 1:700.
New recruits to this campaign will soon outnumber original enlistees !
