Hi there,
I feel the need for a campaign that covers all those war machines that get captured and used against their previous owners.
Hereīs a few examples:
Tiran Series
Shermans with the Germans
Messerschmidts in the RAF
Spitfires and Hurricans in the Luftwaffe
Panther Tanks in US and French service
Russian equip. in the Wehrmacht
and so on and on.....
any takers?
Cheers Paul

If this is a "Go," I plan to do the one on the top:
I have the kit, just need some decals.

Hi Sal,
thanks, and sorry I didnīt mean to tread to on anyones toes
So lets call this "Waste not, want not, unter falcher Flagge II"
And that T34 is something Iīve never heard of, go for it.
Hi Mike,
that is the sort of thing I mean for Aircraft, if we get a "go" then do it.

Interesting! I was thinking of a new project that fits in. A Crusader III in service with DAK's 15th Panzer Division. Count me in!

Hi John (Nito 74),
nice to see you join the few, but if we donīt find 6 others it wonīt be going down.
As for the dates Iīd choose June 2013 till March 2014, hows that sound?
Or if anyone has something else then say it, after all Iīm also stuck in other campaigns to.

Sounds fine to me.
You might want to give your proposal a few days so it can catch on. I'm sure there would be plenty of people signing up..

If you're including planes you should advertise the camapign on Aeroscale and what about boats? Put it up on Model Shipwrights too.

Hi there,
@Jim: welcome mate, hope this does take off, any ideas yet?
@Pat and Vance: a welcome to both of you to, Aircraft are definatly allowed and ships too, but I canīt think of anything that was entered and turned against itīs previuos owners.
@Pat: you say advertise this on other sites, but how do I get this onto the other Sites?

Paul wasn't there a merchant ship in Norway that British forces captured while at see from the Germans? If i'm not mistaken it was used afterwards against the previous owners...

well, depends on if you mean it was in active combat or not - captured aircraft were used and tested extensively to discover weaknesses in the design and develop combat tactics to counter that type of aircraft, which in my book is certainly 'turning it against previous owners'.
but your call on if that is admissible.

Go to the top of the page and click on the browse sites button. I'm sure ships were captured and used by both sides- the model shipwright folks will know

@ John: (JKB Sprint): as I said I have no idea if ships were actually entered and used agianst their former owners, but that doesnīt matter any more because Iīve advertised this build on the Model Shipwrights, someone there should no about that and hopefully join us here
@ Vance: I was really thinking of "frontline service" , but I suppose I could let that go through, but what wonīt work is for example Swiss BF109īs going up against the Luftwaffe, these things were purchased and not captured or even stolen
@ Pat: cheers mate, Iīve gotten this onto both other sites,
now itīs wait and see

For we airplane builders, there's a lot of inspiration on this page.
Going back to Napoleanic times, ships were quite often boarded, captured and put into service against their former owners. And if we allow fiction, there's always Douglas Reeman's His Majesty's U-boat which I learn from the link was based on the story of HMS Graph, so it isn't even fiction anymore.

Hi everyone,
I just want to make it clear that I donīt want any Sci-Fi stuff, or What ifs and co. So NO X-wing fighters with klingon markings or angel interceptors with swastikers.
It has to have been captured and used against itīs former owners, either in battle or as a test bed.
Now if Jessica from Aeroscale and Bruce from ModelShipwrights join in then we have a runner!
That makes us 11, I shall get some rules and regs sorted out
tommorrow and submit it. Looks like it could turn out good after all

Hi there,
the campaigns submitted, hereīs the rules and regs:
-Any war machine from 1900 to now
-Your choice of war machine must have proof that it was
stolen or captured. A short description will be ok,
but if you wish to add more please feel free to do
so.
-Straight Kits or dioramas are ok
-Scratch building, or scratched parts are very much
welcome and encouraged.
-2 photos into the Kitmaker Gallery, and a minimum of 5
in-progress photos onto the campaign thread. This is
for the learn effect for those not so experienced
builders.
-A photo of the unstarted kit and all after market
parts is a must.
-Kits must be unstarted.
-Hand held weapons are not allowed, so no 1/6 M16īs or such.
-No Sci-Fi or what ifs.
-And most importantly have fun, even if things go wrong.
and hereīs the overview:
This campaign is dedicated to all the "war machines" which are captured or stolen by one Force, and turned against their former owners. This can cover Land vehicles, Aircraft and Ships of all sizes. Frontline service is the preferred option, but machines used as a "test bed" for evaluation will be allowed.
Hope you now all stick with me and very soon we will have some damm good fun . Ah no question this will be good

Hello Paul,
I am in. I have a few ideas for the Naval Side for this Campaign.
In Europe, You have the U-Boats captured in '43-'44, The French Ships in British ports when France surrendered in '40, The Naval Ships the Germans seized in the Low-Lands and in Denmark/Norway. You also have E-Boats and MGB's captured from Germany and Britain.
In the Pacific, You have the Russian Pre-Dreadnoughts captured in the Russo-Japaneses War and were used by the IJN, The U.S. Navy Ship raised by the Japanese and turned into a Patrol Ship, The PT Boats captured in the Philippines in '42, The IJN barges and small patrol boats captured by the Chinese in '44-'45 and the IJN barges used by the Marines on the 'canel in '42-43.
So there is a lot of Navel items to choose from besides your normal Armour/Aircraft items.
Just a few thoughts,
Cheers,
Bruce
