Rob,
Would a railway Gondola like this
qualify as a Heavy Equipment Transport
Only thing that I have in the stash that is used for transportation

Sooner or later I'm gonna get round to that Faun SLT that's lingering in the stash - I'm in!

As much as I'd like to justify the cash on the 1/35 Tamiya Dragon Wagon, I'll probably go with the 1/72 Academy version. Maybe throw one of those DML 1/72 Shermies on it.

Ohhh, expensive builds.
What about redneck philosophy? A 4X4 pickup pulling a flatbed trailer?

I have the MAZ in stash and a half-build Faun Transporter.
But I don't have time for now, might start it next May-June, still unclear about it.
Just an idea to get more people in, since not everyone has this big and expensive kits in stash,
Transporting & Engineering Campaign (allowing Recovery and Bridgelayer tanks )
Just an idea Rob ...

Great Phil! the HobbyBoss kit is what got me back into modelling.
Sal, I don't see how you could get heavy equipment on that. Sorry.
Tom, Sounds good! I have that on my to get list.
Jeff, I don't know if you could find a large enough trailer or big enough pickup.
John, Thanks I have thought of that but would prefer to keep it as a tank transporter campaign if possible.
Cheers Rob.

My thoughts exactly... I'm in! Just don't know yet if it'll be the M4A1/76 or the M4...
Cheers!

I'd also jump onboard if the timeline was prudent..just finished a MAZ- late for the support campaign, would love to add the SLT-56 or better yet the M1070 !
The list is definately narrow for this one though..but still a great proposal

I would be on board, been looking at possibly building accurate armour's diamond-T M19 transporter. Timeline sounds good to me.

Would Trumpeter's DF-21 ballistic missile launcher be acceptable? Been looking for a reason to buy one of these. When do you plan on running the campaign?

I am proposing a Campaign involving Tank Transporters or Heavy Equipment Transport Vehicles.
Just wondering, whats is your definition of a heavy transport vehicle. Would a 8t half-track be big enough or must it be something capable of moving a SPG etc.
Cheers.

Hi Max,
That is a very good question, one I am having trouble coming to a decisive answer on.
Could you include a towed gun or trailer?
Cheers Rob.

Rob ,, the 8 ton half track was pretty much a medium weight half track ,, you know it mounted light weight weapons and towed medium weight guns .
I think for this campaign 12ton and up would be a better choice ..the 12 ton towed the 17cm and bigger guns of the WW2 German army so i think those would work real well .
The 12ton also mounted the 88cm gun which the 8ton could not do .
Thats my 2 cents ,.time for dinner

Thanks Phill,
Yes I will have to agree, I`m sorry but the 8t will not work for this campaign.
Cheers Rob.

I was thinking that the 8t might be pushing things a bit. I wouldn't have been able to build something for it to tow in this campaign, I'm just trying to sort out what to build for all the upcoming campaigns.
While I'm here, would a 12t like the Trumpeter Sd.Kfz.8 DB10 Gepanzerte 12t be ok. Do we have a ruling on what weight something must be able to tow.
cheers

Max,
I am going to say yes, go for it.
It would be nice if you included the towed gun, but now I may be pushing it.
Cheers Rob.

Jon,
Great! it was seeing the post in your campaign that gave me the push to go ahead with this one. I did not want everyone to start theirs before I could get a campaign going.
I will most likely be doing Dragons M1A2 Sep for your campaign.
Cheers Rob.

What about commercial trucks used by the military for line hauling? We used or still use (depending on branch of service)Mac trucks and ken worth to haul milvan and conex containers since their cheaper to operate than purposely built tank transporters. I know you can still get the older revell/monogram 1/32 trucks and miniman factory makes some 1/35 resin trucks.
