Kind of shocked there are no FAMO's on here. Kind of sucks that I just built mine about two months ago and my HET Is to far along to meet the criteria. Might have to just settle on the second HET I have or the Faun..... Could always do another MAZ I guess since I have some cool Northern Alliance decals for it.

Just checked the tracking and I should get my kit on the 15th!

Can't wait! Now to decide what to haul around... maybe a T28? Saw some images on-line and the FAUN looks good in UN colors.

Would you allow me to join with my Faun transporter? I have done the first 6 steps of the cab and 2 steps involving the gooseneck? There are a total of 38 steps.... What say you?

Boris mate ,,dude your nuts with what your doing to that M1070 and i am really looking forward to your build ,,as for PE oh i needed a brake from that for a little while ,i built a M2 halftrack for the US Half tracks campaign and i used the full Lion Roar conversion on it ,,thats 16 sheets of PE ,check it out on the campaign page if ya want to see what it looked like ,,oh no PE for me yet

Phill

Haha yeah it is a lot of work, but I see it this way: I probably only built this kit once, so why not make the most of it? and that how I built almost all my models from know.... well its worth it

Wow, thas a lot of PE on your halftrack mate! I understand the "PE break" in your situation

Hi guys!

I have been very busy with the M1000 trailer the last two weeks but am proud to say I almost finished it with the extra PE from ET Model as well.
The build of the trailer is a lot of fun and very challenging because of all the duct, PE and aligning everything the right way.
Please scroll along with the following pictures to learn more:

this was during the progress of getting the cables / duct where needed.

The control box of the M1000 trailer (I guess?) the left one shows ET Model's and the right shows how it would be without ET Model.
The hatch can be opened and closed.

The storage box on the left side of the M1000 trailer. again, left ET Model's, right HobbyBoss.
Note the hinge and the lock.

one more shot of the storage box

The control of the front supports of the M1000 trailer (see next pics for more)

Everything done! except the road wheels, those will be attached after painting.

A shot of the rear

Note the locking system from ET Model

The control box and the wheel chocks

Now I would like to know what those things are!??? so I can place them accordingly

Same goes for these things, what are those?

A nice shot of the rear of the M1000 trailer, note the chains and spring combination. see further for more shots

One more small detail. the pin can be removed and the ?? What are those?? can be taken out

A shot of the left side

A shot of the right side

Lots of detail here

Same goes for this side of the M1000 trailer

For some nice impressions, I placed my AAVP-7A1 on top of the M1000

The wheel chokes in stored position

They can be removed as well

Again, note the detail of the chains and how they are connected

Now were starting with the bottom of the trailer bed

Loads of detail here

The connection of the "gooseneck" with the M1000

the storage box seen from underneath

Detail shot of the hydraulic axles with all the cables

The last shot, the bottom of the rear left

I hope you guys enjoyed this update as much as I enjoyed the build of this beautiful kit and PE set.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated, so are the answers to the questions above some of the pictures.

thanks for watching!

Jeff,
Looking forward to seeing that one built.

I got a start on my Maz, mostly cleaning parts and filling ejector marks(most of which will not be seen ) I am also going to be adding weld beads to a lot of the joints.

I found this tip the other day about using backer rod (a foam rod for filling cracks before caulking) to fill vinyl tires and keep them against the bead, works good.

Found that here:
http://hawkeyes-squawkbox.com/

I started a second thread for this to make it easier to follow, will still post updates here.
Second thread here:

Linky

Cheers Rob.

Boris,
Very Nice!

Thanks Rob!
You're off to a good start with your MAZ as well! filling all those ejector marks is a [auto-censored]ty job to do, so good of you to fill them anyway.

Thanks for the help mate! I had those TM's on my mac already but it did not cross my mind to check them for what those things are
Thanks for the help

Thanks man! appreciate it.

Never seen your tank transporter before!, curious on the result of the built model
Using tubed glue!? how can you be accurate with that?

I got even more aftermarket stuff coming in from all over the world, the M1070 will be even more challenging then the M1000. but cant get it started till everything arrives.

Ok. So I am in with the big Trumpeter Faun SLT and hoping to include the Fuchs as my "load", so to speak. Got started on this last night as I had reached a point with the other three kits I am working on that I could not do much more and still had a few hours to burn.

I will be doing a build log for this one separately as well as I do not believe that there are any on the site here that fully cover this beastie well. I have seen one or two other build on other sites, the latest one being from 2010 and not sure if it ever got finished.

So started on the trailer last night just doing some basic sanding and filling. The underside of the trailer has a bunch of push marks that need to be sanded off if you hope to show off the underside at all. Why put in the work if you can't see it? There are two depressions that I am sure are injection points on the top side of the trailer bed. These need to be filled and so I did with some Tamiya putty and sanded once set. Here is how things are looking. CHeers.

Hi fellow TT's
Started the little one today

no major fit problems as yet ,not bad for 51 year old molds!

waiting for the cement to dry on the suspension so all the wheels sit on the floor.
More pics soon

Wow Andy! You're not wasting any time are you?!! Looks great!

I'll start on mine soon but right now I'm trying to make up time with my le.FH18/40/2(sf) auf G.W.Pz.Kpfw.III/IV build.

Then maybe some paint booth time.

Andy,
It could be the photo, but isn't the front of the trailer supposed to angle up?
