Thanks Anthony. I've added decals and filters and the camo paint looks much better blended already. So I'm happy with it now where it's going. I should have time this week to work on it since I'm grounded from kickboxing with a knee injury again, doh!

Amazing what the weathing can do to those bright camo colors. Looks very good now that it has toned down. I really need to get me one of these. What are your plans for it? Small base? Dio? One thing I noticed in the last picture (and it might be too late to mess with it) is the track link that runs from the Drive sprocket to the first roadwheel looks much to straight to me. Any way you could bend a little more sag into it? Might just be me, I seem to have an obsession with the way track droops/sags.

Nice progress, Greg. Cool looking Jagdpanther.
I have decided to go with a Fw 190 for this campaign. It is the old venerable Monogram kit. The old decals are out of register, so I will have to use some after market decals. Lots of good options on the sheet, so have not decided which one to build yet.

Thanks Patrick and Jesper. I'll try to see if I can get that track to bend and sag a little in the front through stretching.
Jesper - that is a old classic! I remember doing one of those Monogram Tank Hunter dios back in the day. Have fun with it

Some more weathering: washes and outlining edges with black oil paint. I still need to fix that track but it's real stiff so we'll see.

I really need to get off my butt and get some pics posted. I was going to originally do a 1/48 Kubel but ended getting one of those DUST wargame models, which are in 1/48. Mine is the Panzer inspired walker. Unfortunately it was the preassembled type so I've had to dismantle it, which caused it's own set of problems. Will get some pics posted this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you back in Stalingrad. Really want to see how that develops. I'm also grinding though a much smaller Stalingrad dio for What If 3 with a Dust walker.
pcmodeler: which one did you get?

pcmodeller - that will be a cool entry. Yes please get the camera rolling
Zon - I finished the Jagdpanther today (I think) and will just make a small base for it and then get on with Stalingrad. I'll look for your what if pics
Jesper - thanks! I got that right track to sag better and I'll take pics once I get the base done.

I'm almost ashamed to post these pics because of the lighting, but this thread needs a bump of life The Stalingrad dio figures I started to paint them and then re-painted them. Sorry again about the cruddy light - a figure painting sin, but it's just the beginning three-tone overhead spraying to locate the light and shadows.
...and the Jagdpanther is done, but again I'll take more pics later when I have some decent light

Hey Greg,
The finished JP looks great!
It looks very real on the base with the lighting used and low angles!

Here's some beginning detail painting. It's going to take awhile. Wears me out lol. I have some more broken machine guns I'll have to repair along the way.
Been playing around with the position of the flame thrower too. I think I like him out in front of the Sgt now. Any suggestions welcome

Are you doing the airbrush technique of spraying from the direction of the light to do your shadows? If so, give us a bit more insight on what you found out trying that If you could please

Hi Pat,
This is my 2nd or 3rd time trying it and I think it's worth doing. It's much faster then trying to paint the figure by hand for one. First you paint the whole figure black. Second, spray the dark base color from above. I've discovered you need to spray a bit wider around with this coat to prevent the figure looking too black down below. Third, a smaller circle around with the highlight. Fourth, hand paint details and give them a drybrush highlights.

Greg: nice set up on the dio. Also the figs are looking good. I will have to try the painting technique you described. Seems to work well for you.

Count me in.
These just arrived at my doorstep so there's my incentive to start planning and working. This time I'm going to put at least one of them on/in some sort of diorama base.

Mark. Thanks for the kudos. I really like those pit details you've done. Hope the bondo work is kind to you.
Sandell. Good to see you back here. I remember your 222. I've been itching to do one of those 251s too to see how it compares to the long build of the AFV Club one. They both look good finished from what I've seen.
Keep the action going everyone :-)
